Tweak the Blue skin.
It is possible to tweak the new image based GBPVR Blue skin and make you own themes.
Plugin skins can also be image based and have the original Blue look.
So I'm having a terrible time coming up with the "perfect combination" of decoders that will allow good playback for all files. I have two ATSC tuner cards, so I record from those in dvr-ms file format, and from my analog card in mpg format. It seems that no matter what combination I select, I either have good playback with the HDTV files, and bad playback with the mpg's, or vice versa (basically get "ghosting"/"trailing" on my mpg's when I have dxva turned on, but that's the only way the the HDTV files will play smoothly -- I've tried converting my dvr-ms files to mpg with no luck).
So my question is this, how hard would it be to create a utility/plugin that would use a different decoder based on the file extension? I have a fairly good programming background, so if it's conceptually possible, I think I could handle the programming.
I downloaded PlainJaneSetup.zip and tried to unzip it by both WinZip and WinRAR.
In both cases I got an error regarding corrupt file.
In WinRAR it was: "PlainJaneSetup.zip: CRC failed in PlainJaneSetup.exe. The file is corrupt" and in Winzip it was: "Some data in your Zip file is damaged. The CRC is d38aa56f but should be 7b9e68dec".
I also tried to download and unzip it on another PC and with another browser but the result was the same.
Whats wrong ?
after trying out several PVR solutions (Cyberlink PowerCinema, Terratec HomeCinema) i ended up with GBPVR because the others ... dont work for me ... to make it short.
I bought a Terratec Cinergy Hybrid T XS USB, Card which is (like the name says) a Hybrid DVB-T / Analog Receiver USB Stick.
I still have some problems using gbpvr with the Cinergy hardware, some of them solved themselves by installing the latest updates (like german "umlaut" characters were missing in the program guide but are there now - great!).
One error which took me some time to figure out but is easy to fix if you know the problem, is that the filter names for the Terratec in BDA.INI are wrong, at least for the newest updates of the drivers for the Card. Using Graphedit, i figured out that these are the correct names for the filters:
[TerraTec Cinergy HT USB XS DVB-T]
TUNING_TYPE=DVB-T
FILTER_TUNER=Cinergy HT USB XS Digital Tuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=Cinergy HT USB XS Digital Capture
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
But the main problem i have is still unsolved: The Recording Service seems to stall quite often, especially when trying to record the second scheduled show since startup. It happens quite often that the first show is recorded fine, but the second time the tray icon is switches to green the file stays at 0 KB, and CPU usage is as high as IF it was recording, but nothing is written to the capture file.
Occasionally also the recording service seems to stall without recording anything. Tray Icon is white, but opening the context menu by right click takes a lot of time. If you manage to Toggle the "Restart Recording Service" usually everything is fine afterwards... Is there anything i can do to make things more reliable with that ? I am not saying it is GBPVR to blame, it could also be the BDA Driver but i dont know how to figure this out.
Another thing which is not a bug, rather a question: The DVB-T EPG behaves strange i have (short) but complete data for some channels and nothing for others... Also compared to what the Terratec Software shows in the EPG the Infos in GBPVR are very brief as if it only reads the synopsis but discards all the additional data which must be available somehow...
When hardware decoder is set to Hauppauge pvr350 there is no signal when i try to watch live tv. When I switch to none, there is a signal but the quality is not as good as when watching on wintv 2000. :confused:
A little history: The cable is running through the 350 card and out the dvi output of my nvidia 6200 card directly to an hdmi input (via dvi to hdmi cable) on my 42" lcd screen. I am also using purevideo as my decoder.
Any advice? Thanks
Just installed latest version and finally got the DVB-EPG umlauts to work (Finland/Vaasa (VLP-cableTV) !
But the Q:
I know the DVB-subtitles can be different in different countrys, but should it work by just enabling it in configuration ? No additional tag's or modifications to config.xml ?
Also, there wouldn't be description about the config-file anywhere, would there ? I realize you wouldn't like to publish it but for example the primary and secondary subtitle -options are total mystery to me 'cause there's just english listed.
Something I missed ?
And to give something back, I thought you would like an addition to BDA>DVB-C -configurations, this attachment includes Finland>Vaasa-VLP MUX-list as listed on the website
My video recently became fuzzy, like bad cable. I kinda doubt it is a software issue but maybe someone has some idea. I have tried the cable connections, and reseating the card (PVR 150). It is very frustrating. I only use it for DVR and watch my video elsewhere, I do get a few shows recorded that are fine but most are blurry.
I normally use the digital DVB tuner but sometime I check if analog could work as well. So far Everytime I checked tuner failed to work.
The result I have now is pretty different from previous in fact the tuner seems blocked to ch. 41 instead tuning ch. 5 or 7 with no sound at all.
Attached are logs and lastgraph
I've been moving recordings around and discovered the history is lost on the recordings window, although the files are still viewable on the video window.
I've managed to recreate a file based on recording-dump.xml using the contents of a directory, but refreshing this file doesn't seem to update the Recordings.
What else do I need to do to get it to look at this refreshed file? (all that is still lost is the description and channel and I can live without those...)
- Does the UID have to be in a particular format?
- Do I have to update the EPG?
- Does it need to be in a particular sort order?
Any comments much appreciated!
Cheers

I have a ReplayTV in conjunction with my GBPVR PC.
There is a cool function on the ReplayTV that allows you to record a show from any channel at any time. Once shows are syndicated, they play on many different channels at many different times. Some of the shows like this I like to record. It also allows you to be able to record from any channel at anytime based on description, not necessarily the title. For instance, I like to record anything that airs about the Kansas City Chiefs or about South Carolina. If those keywords are in the description and another show isn't scheduled to record with a higher priority, it gets recorded.
