Kodi errors our when trying to update timer rule
Posted by: crafter - 2020-08-30, 04:31 AM - Forum: Kodi / XBMC - Replies (5)

I recently reinstalled NextPVR.  I can create a time rule just fine but when I go to edit it I get the error "Could not update the timer. Check log for more information about this error."
When I checked the log I found the below errors.  I'm not sure why it can't connect to the site.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If your having playback issues after the 5.0.8.200823
Posted by: Pfmk2 - 2020-08-30, 02:58 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (1)

My situation might not be the same as some having an issue..
My issue was.. Previous stable iptv sources would not play/start then stop/transcoder exits and the Live TV from the antenna was 'off' ..on a Windows 8-10 machine.. I've had the iptv sources before I started using npvr and it would still play on vlc..[while I still use it to check sources, I have since added a testing setup on my pc to check out any new sources ability to play well with npvr]

I had checked the logs/settings and everything had appeared to be ok as far as npvr was concerned, reviewed the log and there was a reference to "madVR" not being available.. hadn't seen anything in the forums beyond the LAV/AC# filters, and it appeared to be a dev side include..

hit the site up and saw that it is included in some kodi addons and then a reference to Nextpvr..
I downloaded and installed the package from the link, restarted the setup and everything was right again..

The link to some file is in the kodi wiki
kodi DSPlayer/NEXTPVR page
There are some lnks to files there,

but I downloaded the madVR zip from their home site at
madVR Labs, LLC

  Client trouble
Posted by: Jzzhn - 2020-08-29, 06:06 AM - Forum: Legacy (v4.x and earlier) - Replies (2)

When I play the client on any web browser or nlite the audio glitches every few seconds.
when I play the following on VLC:
http://192.168.1.95:8866/live?channel=21
the stream runs perfectly a few minutes, then the audio quits and video keeps playing.
When I run the same hyperlink on MPC-BE  the whole stream plays about 2 seconds, and quits.
What setting can I change? I wonder if this is network adapter settings related. Both nic's are set for 1.0gbps, jumbo packet 9, max caches, no offloading anything.

  Watching two channels at once
Posted by: arrbee99 - 2020-08-28, 10:29 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

Was just having a go at watching one channel in the web app and another in the desktop app at the same time. It doesn't work. Seems that the first one I try to watch works (whether on web or app) and the second doesn't. This is with a TBS6902 dual tuner card, which shows both tuners are active, but the second device is just blank.

  Installation falilure
Posted by: lacek - 2020-08-28, 02:29 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

Environment: Windows 10 Pro 2004 (Build 19041.450)
Windows Language: Chinese (Traditional, HKSAR)
Steps to reproduce problem:

  1. Run NPVRSetup.exe and allow administrator privilege
  2. Error is thrown when the setup program is extracting "data/tuning/DVB-T/Belgium - Wallonië.ini"
The Chinese characters in the exception message translates to "Illegal characters in path"
  3. Press Confirm (確定) and the installation completes
  4. https://localhost:8866/ is automatically opened in browser, showing connection refused
The startup item "C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\NextPVR Tray" is an invalid link as the file "C:\Program Files\NextPVR\npvrtray.exe" doesn't exist after installation. This indicates the setup content isn't copied completely.

I managed to workaround the problem by:
  1. Download https://nextpvr.com/stable/win64/NPVR.zip
  2. Extract them content into "C:\Program Files\NextPVR" using the Windows Explorer
  3. Repeat step 1 to 3 above.
  4. https://localhost:8866/ is automatically opened in browser, showing the login form

Failed to start requested stream / transcoder exited
Posted by: thejollyreaper - 2020-08-27, 08:01 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (11)

I managed to scan for channels, but whenever I try streaming one it loads for a very long time before giving me a "failure to start requested stream" error.

Tried re-scanning, didn't work. Also tried exporting the playlist to VLC, also couldn't load a stream.

*on arch-based linux

  Can't detect Hauppage 950Q [Linux]
Posted by: thejollyreaper - 2020-08-27, 06:37 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (5)

I tested out nextpvr on my windows laptop first and it worked great. Tuner got all the channels my vizio tv can get. Then I installed nextpvr on my server laptop (running Manjaro). Got it up and running, but it doesn't seem to detect the tuner. It just shows up as "local recorder (adapter0)" and I can't scan for channels.

  RAM Timeshift and comskip
Posted by: pep - 2020-08-27, 05:28 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

It would be nice to have the option to use either RAM or hard drive for timeshift.  I currently have 16 gb ram on my chromebox as my TVHeadend server which allows you to have the option.

It would also be nice if comskip was integrated into NextPVR so you can set it in the UI.  TVHeadend has a blank window which allows you to set the settings for comskip.

NextPVR seems simpler to set up compared to TVHeadend which got me looking at it closer.

Thanks

  Changing channels while viewing?
Posted by: HarryH3 - 2020-08-27, 01:10 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (9)

I don't watch Live TV often, but the last couple of days I've been trying to keep up with the hype around Hurricane Laura, switching between channels often.  In V4 I could just press the channel-up or channel-down button on my remote and the channel would change.  In V5 I'm getting no response to channel change requests after starting to watch a channel from the guide.  In Live TV I found that I can press the up or down arrow and a channel list pops up, then I can change the channel using the list.  Did the channel change button support go away in V5, or is there some setting that I need to change?
