Recently did a driver update for my old MX440 video card - before I take the system back about 3 weeks and get rid of that driver update I thought I'd ask here.
Hard to explain problem, but every so often I get a real bad flickering on movement on the tv, it only seems to happen after a skip (it's from the remote or comskip) Sometimes it sorts itself out. Display on an MVP of the same video is fine, and on another tv.
I've had a play with all of the nvidia tv settings, but can't seem to sort it out.
I can roll back to a previous image, or take the ATI 9600 pro from another machine and put it in the gbpvr machine.....but I'd rather not...
I noticed that in the survival guide for the latest version of GB-PVR, it breaks under IE7 as the local System account can't launch processes. Well, tomorrow, IE7 is to be a mandatory "high-priority" windows update. So does this mean that if we have auto-update on, GB-PVR will break?
Howdy-
I'm working on a fresh install, and when I click Live TV, it gives me this error.
Also, I tried to schedule a recording and watch it afterward, but the program hangs when I click play to watch the recording. Don't know if the two issues are related...
I've tried changing from VMR9 Custom to VMR9 to no avail.
Attached are my logs; thanks ahead of time for your help. You guys have a really cool community here.
Not sure if anyone has run into this but there are some new DVDs out there that DVD Decrypter cannot decrypt (unfortunately development has ceased with this awesome application). I recently found a freeware replacement product that picks up where DVD Decrypter left off. If anyone is interested here is the link http://www.ripit4me.org/.
One of the cool features is that after ripping it will populate DVDShrink with the info which is a real space saver.
"The movie-only mode now produces a fully compliant DVD with a very simple structure. This allows opening the output in DVD Shrink (full-backup or reauthor modes) as well as other backup programs (Nero Recode or DVD Rebuilder for example)."
*Down side is there is no command line options and the tool is all gui based so it doesn't look like this can be incorporated into the DVD Ripper plugin anytime soon - that is of course, unless one of you programmers can work your magic?

I originally had the tuner/capture entries the other way around. Either I misread the guide in the Wiki, or the KWorld has them the wrong way round, or something else - but as above works!
Still fiddling with tuning and learning how gbpvr works, so back to that now...
if a recording gets split due to the recording service restarting during recording I get a nice folder of mpegs labeled progname.mpg, progname-2.mpg, progname-3.mpg etc.... When I go to watch the program from the recordings menu can I set GBPVR up to automatically play the 'clips' in order (at the moment it just plays the last one)? Currently I have a work around of adding the recordings directory to the video library and playing them one by one - but it would be nicer if GBPVR sorted it out itself.....
This may be totally lame brain to ask, but we are trying to set up a home secuirty 4 camera system as a build it yourself project. Will the program like you are all talking about, do the same as a security program, taking CCTV video feed into a DVR PC based PCI card and allow us to monitor and record via different inputs or is there a different type of software without the high professional price we may be looking for? Any information and links would be greatfully appreciated as this is very confusing to us.
Does anyone know if my Compro VideoMate H900 capture card is upported by GB-PVR. Here are the specs:
Video
TV Systems: NTSC, PAL, SECAM
Video Formats: NTSC, PAL, SECAM
Video Controller: All-in-One Conexant CX23418 10-bits Hardware MPEG-2 decoder with 3D adaptive comb filter for NTSC and Video/Audio broadcasting decoder
3D Y/C Separation: Supports NTSC video signal 3D Y/C separation
After watching an avi, gbpvr locks up with a black screen. It does this if the avi ends or if the user hits the back button. Cpu usage is at 0%. I have version 0.98.8b with the latest ffdshow. Mpg & wmv are fine.
This is all i get when trying to watch live tv on a client i've set up. I can see the EPG no probs. Tried disabling firewalls! Tried using a different muxer! Where could i be going wrong? Do i need to unregister GBPVRParser.ax? My gbpvr folder is shared and the client points to it! Does it work with the cyberlink muxer? Using the MS one defeats the object of me using this software (would like to re-encode) so if not will there be support in the future?
Which logs do you need to see?
TIA
PS: Using latest .98.08b, default plugins decided to attach all logs
