  LiveTV on client?
Posted by: HtV - 2006-09-11, 06:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

I have been trying all kind of things but I can't get the Livetv working ok on the client. It's stuttering heavily. Strange thing is networktraffic keeps rather low. When I playback a recording (which works fine) traffic is ~50% higher.
So I thought lets try the following: I start recording a show and then right away start watching through recordings-planned-etc. Same stuttering.
I raised the cache setting, tried several videoencoders, nothing matters. It seems it just can handle the writing to and reading from the same file, at the same time.
Anybody?

  v0.98.8 no longer availible ?
Posted by: Mellowtrax - 2006-09-11, 05:55 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

I read the news earlier today that v0.98.8 was leased, and as I have looked forward to the client-server solutions I decieded to download it when I got home from work. But now it´s v0.97.13 that´s availible for download

Has Sub pulled backed the new version ?

  Strange problem with live-tv
Posted by: frankmcg - 2006-09-11, 05:44 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Have been lurking on the forums for a few days now and they've been invaluable in solving many of my GB-PVR problems/challenges! However, I've finally hit a brick-wall on this one and therefore needed to post as no one else seems to have had this problem:

Setup is: Windows MCE with onboard 6150, hauppauge Nova-T.

Pretty much everything was working fine running Forceware 81.xx although picture was still a bit blurry. Upgraded to Forceware 84.24 to see if this made any difference but now LiveTV seems to be corrupted. Essentially half the picture seems to be missing across the screen vertically ie there is one vertical line of image then one line of black and so on giving it the look of those old FMV clips you used to get in computer games. Strangely everything is fine both in WinTV2000 (horrible program) and for playing normal video clips through GB-PVR. Even more strangely, if I change the Windows colours setting from 32bit to 16bit the problem also goes away, but then I think I’m losing something in terms of picture quality.

Any ideas (beyond the obvious – roll-back to previous drivers!?)

  Subtitles Enabled?
Posted by: gexi - 2006-09-11, 04:58 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

When the MVP first starts I now see a message in the upper righthand corner stating that subtitles are enabled. I don't see any subtitles though. Is it because my card (PVR 150) is not capable of recording subtitles from an analog signal or is there a configuration setting I am missing?

How do you turn off the DVB subtitles in the new build?

Cheers

  98.08 Installation problem
Posted by: pastro - 2006-09-11, 02:52 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

After the installation completed and the config program was coming up, the config app crashed and when I ran it again it came up ok but I had lost all of my initialization settings. I copied the saved version of config.xml that was saved at installation and reran the config app and everything seems to work fine. Am I setting myself up for a problem using the older version of config.xml or is that ok?

(I'm sure this was self inflicted. I stopped the recording service before upgrading but didn't exit the tray app)

  Upgrading
Posted by: stangdaman - 2006-09-11, 02:45 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

What exactly is the procedure for upgrading to 98.8. I think I have 97.13. I just don't see anything on it in the wiki. Maybe I looked in the wrong place. Do I just download it over the old version or do I have to delete my old version and download the new one?

  Recordings - Program descriptions
Posted by: jonb1974 - 2006-09-11, 02:14 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

I only ever record a maximum or 5 programs or so before watching and deleting. I'd like to see the program descriptions for each program without actually drilling right down to the individual to the program. e.g. When I click on CSI I’d like to see all the programs recorded with a description of each program underneath (good to for seeing which one’s I’ve watched already).

I understand this could make the screen too cluttered and hard to navigate if there are 20 plus recording per program, but who has that? I don’t know if I’ve seen any skins that provide this function either, is it even possible?

skin: nuoro v0.1 - the 4:3-version of sassari
Posted by: dottore - 2006-09-11, 11:55 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (33)

download this new skin at the wiki: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Skin/Nuoro

it is the same as sassari, just a few changes to make it work as 4:3. comments are welcome. i am not very happy with the my - series - skin, i'll have to change that.

as in sassari you can tweak the skin depending on your system speed. if glossy icons consume too much power, run the tweaker and flatten the skin.

next plugins: va, weather, search.
from now on sassari and nuoro will be at the same level.

interface issue in system plugin - v0.98.08
Posted by: dottore - 2006-09-11, 11:20 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

hi sub, it seems, that in the new system settings-plugin there is the same bug as once in photo library: the screen does not refresh before painting the popups.
see the attached image and compare the two corners of the plugin: the second screenshot has a much blacker popup-border. this is because the transparent borders are painted over themselves everytime you press a key on the keyboard.

the first screenshots shows the listview in the system settings-plugin. i've set the detail-view to a height of 70 but it seems to be hardcoded (i hate that word Wink) to 50.

i know, those interface and skinning bugs are annoying since it doesn't prevent gb-pvr from working.
