I just installed a fresh copy of GBPVR v.09709 and got everything hooked up. I can watch Live TV and change channels, but the OSD display doesn't appear. I don't see any channel banner, or the buttons for play/back/forward, etc. I've tried playing with the config setting it to VMR9 and VMR7, but that doesn't change anything. Any ideas on what the issue might be?
I have a Nov 2005 and cant get the BDA drivers to work correctly to get it working with any non-Freecom app. Works fine with theirs though and the WDMs.
I have tried EVERY variant of driver known to man! I am thinking its down to the firmware/early version but what can I do about that?
I have tried scan channels with their BDA loaded (tried the Yakumo too - seriously, I have spent way too much time on this).
I does find signals but seems to fail to lock- log attached.
The problem with GBPVR is it will do same, scan channels but return none. Also because of driver issues somehow, it also locks the machine pretty much and I have had to reboot quite a lot - this has varied between a nightmare of completely locked / possible to force shutdown.
It has also blue screened on another app but I realised the driver lights werent even on at that time, I have done a lot of uninstalling/reinstalling the driver. That includes efforts to completely remove the driver.
I am putting it down to bad luck with my h/w release.
I have tested on my W2k unit, that already had the WDM, but y/day on my laptop which I tried with clean XP MC05 .
It exhibited the same strangeness in XP MC05 in that the 1st driver loaded ok, but the second prompt for driver will NOT bet let through windows - you have to FORCE load it. It doesnt come up as a problem in Win DevMgr after that, but does seem suspicuous to it not wokring correctly with BDA.
I have had the same problem with all attempts with variants of driver under various names, on my orig machine.
Will never buy Freecom again if I cant sort this (not a threat of course, just a matter of fact!).
I just read a review of this brand new Tv Tuner card and it definitely caught my attention. I emailed Avermedia tech support to ask about WinXP support and the answer was: "The driver also supports windows XP, but you will need to purchase Sage TV application for PVR functions."
Does anyone know if this card will work with GBPVR?
Does anyone have this card already?
I have tried everything to remove unwanted channels, but they come back every time that I update the EPG. I have removed them from labs.zap2it.com and they come back even with an "Empty EPG" or a "Complete EPG reload". I have also gone into Config and manually removed them. Is there something special I need to do in TVGuideSuperCharger? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't put together a computer in a few years. I'm trying to cut as many corners as possible at the sametime beef up what I feel might be important. I already have a case, but I am not sure about the PSU. Any suggestions or recommendation is greatly apprecaited. All these parts I found at newegg

I'm also concerned about the video card I selected (Leadtek PX6600TD-256 Geforce 6600 256MB 128-bit DDR PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail $70). I am not sure what inputs my television has, but it's a pretty new television that I know takes of course coax and s-compsite. Sorry for the ignorance, any info I'd grately appreciate it.
I've been playing around with GBPVR without even having the car and I really love the functionality it brings.
I'm sorry if this has been brought up before (though I did search quite a bit yesterday). I am considering adding a second tuner to my current GBPVR setup. I currently have a Hauppage 150.
I am looking to receive over the air HD content here in the US, and would like a card with hardware encoding.
I am looking at either the ATI HD TV Wonder, or the KWORLD ATSC-100 (I think that's the correct model, not sure if it has hardware encoding or not though). I also hear that ATI dropped a new HD tuner card recently, the TV Wonder 650. Anyone know if this works natively with GBPVR yet?
Any advice would be appreciated. I'll be using an indoor antenna to receive my signal (hopefully).
Just when I has GBPVR configured juuuuuust the way I liked it, my HD crashed. Now I have reinstalled GBPVR and I am missing something that I had before. I THINK that I have everything as I did before, but obviously not. Here is what I am missing:
Before when I would hit the forward or skip button, I would get an on screen bar indicating where we were in the program. It has now gone away, and I miss it!
Anyone know what configuration/plugin I am missing?
I'm looking for an easy to use transcoder program that can handle:
Cropping the video frame down to remove the black borders
Joining two files together (for when a recording goes into the next program)
Setting punch-in and punch-out points in the video so it discards everything else
Set either an output folder, or the ability to specify a different default extension / format for the output file and maintain the existing folder structure.
These things would also be nice:
Uses comskip files to remove the ads while it transcodes, thus further reducing the output file size.
Has a graphical windowsy interface (not a series of arcane command-line options or obsfucated batch files)
Doesn't require me to have previously installled 3 dozen different tools
I'd like to be able to import and export eh recordings data to a CSV or XML file. So I can grab a list of all the data associated with the recording - name, physical file path, date started, date ended, whether or not it's been transcoded (if you know even that), where the playback position was last.
The ability to import the same data would be good too, so if you're trying to restore shows from a previous install or migrate two different setups into a single setup.
