1) It seems that at times, my audio lags a half second or second behind live TV. Sometimes I can exit out of LiveTV to the main menu and back into LiveTV and it will go away. Others times it will not. Sometimes it shows up after I flip the through channels and sometimes it doesn't. Its very odd, I have tried using a different audio decoder than "system default" and this does not seem to help either. It was happening last night around 6-7pm when my wife was watching "Entertainment Tonight" and "Home Improvement". Although time of day and the show does not seem to affect it.
2) The second issue, is my OSD has disappeared while I am watching TV or watching a recording. I used to be able to move the mouse and it would show up (live or recorded) or hit the pause button and it would come up in live or recorded. It no longer does this, I don't believe that I changed anything in the config that would affect it either. Use "Minimal On Screen Display" is not checked in the config either.
I appreciate all thoughts, comments and help. Wife spilled water on the remote for the digital cable box and it won't work now. But this has FORCED her to use the GB-PVR box, and the WAF has risen significantly in the past couple days. With these minor issues fixed, I think it would peg the WAF meter!
Logs attached if anyone needs them.
Edit: I have attached the config.xml in case it is need as well. Thanks!
I have seen this error message referenced before but can't tell how to resolve it, can anyone halp? If I need to attach logs can you please tell me how to do that also?
Shouldn't the gbpvr logo at the top left of the forums link to GBPVR.com, and not just back to the forum???
That way I could quickly jump between the homepage and the forums (the home page/wki already has pleanty of return links to the forums) or maybe I'm missing something....
I'm using a Hauppauge HVR-1300 with the newest drivers and software (CD 2.5d from www.hauppauge.co.uk). Both WinTV2000 and Mediaportal (v0.2.0.0) are able to find DVB-T channels with their auo-scan function.
GBPVR recognises the card as expected (it's listed as "Nova-T (90002)" in the BDA dialog), only the channel scan is without result.
Should I consider downgrading the Hauppauge software back to CD Version 2.5c?
Very new to this PVR thing, but seeing a friends has got me convinced I need one But before I go and order stuff, can some of you experienced blokes take a look at the following and make sure I've not missed anything?
Basically all from dabs (edited to reflect advice!)
Antec Aria MATX Cube Case - 300W - £68
Western Digital Caviar SE16 320GB S300 16MB cache - £72
2 x Crucial 512MB 240Pin DIMM PC2-3200 DDR2 - £66 for both
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Socket 939 512KB Inc Fan - £61
Hauppauge WinTV PVR-150 - £65
MSI S939 nForce 430 ATX Audio Lan - £53
Hauppauge MVP - £50
Total is about £450 (it's gone up!)
Is that everything I need to get going? Basically what I'm after is a box to sit under the TV and record stuff off Sky, and enable me to watch stuff I've recorded or live TV in the bedroom upstairs (hence the MVP is for).
Couple of questions - With the the MVP + GBPVR - can I be recording something on the PVR while watching something previously recorded on the MVP?
Also, would anyone recommend upping the spec? Better processor/more memory/disk space? I won't be a heavy user, but an extra £50 spent now may save more in the long run. Whats the difference between the MCE version of the 150 and the normal one (aside from £5)?
Finally, what's the best underlying OS? Is MCE2005 worth installing or just plain XPSP2 (or a vista beta? )
Here's an interesting one. Just got most of the GB-PVR functions running now on my new dual core AMD PC, however when I schedule a recording the GB-PVR recording service keeps thinking it is recording even after the timeslot has finished. So in point form:
- Schedule a recording
- Come back after recording normally should have finished to check
- GB-PVR recording status indicator indicates recording is still occuring
- Look at the recording file and note that the recording size seems to indicate the actual recording did stop on time (i.e. the file is not huge as one would expect if the recording truely hadn't stopped)
- The pending recordings that should have been recorded did NOT get recorded, no doubt because the recording service still thought it was recording
- Manually tried to stop recording but no response
- Had to force a Recording Service Restart to recover

If a show that has already been recorded exists in the TV guide before the current time, it would be nice to somehow hilight it (change the foreground text colour, for instance).
Selecting that show would also add a "Play" option to that show, rather than just the "Cancel, Find More" options. This would curcumvent the need to go to Recordings > What's New and search for the show.
I just installed GB-PVR this evening, got it configured and set my recordings to TV quality. I recorded a show for 4min then stopped the recording to find that I had used 157mb of space which really suprised me. That means a 20min show will be about 650mb give or take. I can download TV shows that are 175mb in size which are coded with Divx and look outstanding.
Is that something I can do with GB-PVR? Is there a way to record a program and keep it under 200mb and retain teh quality?
I plan on recording a 6hr movie this weekend and with a 200gb drive, will that be enough room?
