I upgraded to the latest version and now my channel list is sorted by name alphabetically. I'd really like it to go back to numerical, but I can't figure out how to do it.
I had the same problem with the previous version, switching databases put it back until the next update, then it would go alphabical again. Due to a lack of time, I went back to a 96 version & everyting works fine. It's only the .NET 2.0 versions that do this to me.
I used to have a good link to a website that showed coverage areas for virtually all of the broadcast tv stations out there. It actually showed a circle where you 'should' be able to get the signal if you had a good tower, antenna and amplifier. I've been looking for something similar regarding the HDTV stations that are available.
Also, has anyone done comparison testing of the various HDTV tuner cards out there, specifically testing for which has the best fringe reception over the air? My goal is to eventually put up a very tall tower, a preamp and amplifier system, and a rotor. We live in the Dayton, Ohio area, and in the past I have gotten stations from Columbus, Cincinnati, Kentucky and Indiana. (via NTSC - I don't have an HDTV Tuner yet) With a rotor system I could probably pull in two dozen stations. I've never seen any studies done showing which HDTV tuner cards are best for fringe reception.
I am also considering the purchase of 3 HDTV Tuner Cards, all of which have been proven to work fully with gbpvr. Here are the cards:
Kworld atsc-110 - $85
Dvico Fusion HDTV lite - $99 (gold is ~$150, out of my price range)
ATI HDTV Wonder - $85
If anyone has compared 2 or 3 of these cards, I would greatly appreciate an email at fuzzhead72@yahoo.com with your experiences. Whatever I end up with will probably be my "tv" for the next 4 years, so if I can avoid problems, it would be really helpful.
The download for MYVideos 5 RC1 fails at ~ 900KB. Everytime I get an invalid package. The links in Reven's signature lead to his site that requires login. Problem is, you cannot register. Does anyone knowwhere I can get the "my" plugins from Reven? Specifically MyVideos 5.x and MyMusic 3.x. None of the older "MY" plugins work with the new 0.97.9 version of GBPVR and I see no links to download an older GBPVR version. Every time I launch GBPVR with Mymusic 2.x installed, GBPVR generates an error and exits. Any help is greatly apprecisted. I am new to GBPVR, but it looks very promising.
This is my first post here, so please be gentle with me
I have a PC set up with GBPVR on winXP Pro, using a winTV PVR 350 as the capture/timeshift device. Now, I have everything set up the way I want it, and everything works ok. The pc is being piped through to a 32" widescreen LCD telly, via the DVI port on the graphics card.
I can watch tv through the pc, I can timeshift and record TV, no problem. However, when I am watching telly via the PC, or timeshifting/recording, the tv image is not great. Any image that moves in any way seems to produce jagged lines around the edges of anything on the screen. It looks to me like an interlacing problem, but I cannot find anything regarding changing settings or reg tweaks to stop this from happening. I DL'ed the Hauppauge tweaker, and played with some of the settings on that, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
Could one of you wonderful ppl give me some advice as to what I can do, or am I stuck with this?
I have a sony vaio computer and it came with a built in TV tuner but I dont know what its called and the software provided is rubbish, does gbpvr support sony vaio's tv tuners or will it ever?
I have the MCE 2005 remote and I use HIP to send the remote commands to GBPVR this works great including sending the channel changes to my sTB, the area I am struggling to get working is the Vol+ and vol-
I have tried ^x znd ^z (^ = control) and + and - nether works! where am I going wrong can someone explain what commands I need to tell HIP to send to GBPVR
been trying to figure out how to get both MCE and GBPVR controlled using one config in HIP, and i found that because HIP takes control of the usb unit, you can't use any other programs to blast with while HIP is active!
i knew that HIP can control the blaster too but it just wouldn't work for me..
turns out there's a little piece missing..you have to tell HIP to blast in response to the method you will use to ask it later on..
meaning you have to add new 'system wide' keys and use hipwsend to send the key you wish it to blast...for each number add a new key..
from author:
Quote:Looks like you are missing the last part of the operation. When HIP receives a command, you must tell Hip what to do with it.
In the Alternate Input tab, under System-Wide keys, click on the add value button, and while Hip is waiting for a key, use HipSend to generate a key value for the numbers 0-9 (each separately). Then once that has been received, you can allocate the correct IR command to send at the response of this command. Naturally you will have to teach Hip the IR command if it does not already know it and because the IR senders are pretty weak on this unit, I suggest you get the IR side working before you do this.

hope that helps all f you out there wondering why it won't blast...if it works from the 'test ir blaster' button but won't blast in real use,try this..
