  Modify quality settings of recording
Posted by: ctrlbrk - 2020-06-07, 01:25 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (23)

Hi guys,

Where can I adjust the quality of a desired recording/schedule?  I see there is a possible option in the JSON, but don't see any GUI element that would let me modify it.

  V5 tooltips
Posted by: ctrlbrk - 2020-06-06, 11:48 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Please add tooltips everywhere for channel name listings.  Below example, one of these is currently marked as "offline" by my IPTV provider by appending an asterisk to the channel name.  No clue which unless I go to the channel list in another admin page, and match the channel number.

V5 additional channel information for recordings and guide pop-up
Posted by: ctrlbrk - 2020-06-06, 11:37 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I'd love to be able to set a specific channel when setting up a recording.  Too many times there are SD channels with the same content or other problems, for example I have multiple east/west and "2", "3", "4" variations in my lineup, but I know only one of them is aligned correctly with the EPG data.  So I want to force on that channel.

Also, the channel name/number is not shown anywhere on the recording info or on the detailed pop-up when you select an entry from the Guide.  I literally don't know which of four HGTV channels these are, for example -- and the columns aren't resizable, and don't contain tooltips:

  V5 filter guide by search
Posted by: ctrlbrk - 2020-06-06, 11:31 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I'd love a way to search the TV guide listing by channel.  Look at my mock-up, just a way to type a partial channel name and only show those matches in the actual listing.

Possible bug with Schedules Direct fetching
Posted by: ctrlbrk - 2020-06-06, 09:15 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (6)

I am getting this repeatedly, I think it's trying to fetch stuff from Schedules Direct.  But I don't have an account, I use my IPTV providers EPG.  The username field is blank (shows "SD Username" as placeholder input only).

Channel groups, and client crash with empty group
Posted by: ctrlbrk - 2020-06-06, 08:40 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (5)

I'm new to nextpvr, coming from tvh.

My full IPTV m3u has like 30k URLs and over 100 groupings.

I need a few channels from a few groups only, like less than 50 channels total.

I am used to creating a custom channel group in tvh for this -- one for me, one for my wife -- so we only see what we want.

When I went to nvr settings -> channels -> + to create new group 'Mike' and then I tried to put some channels into it -- but it doesn't submit my changes.  When I leave and come back, the channels are no longer in the group.

Also, it appears the Android client flat out crashes when there is an empty channel group.  It was working fine, and my only change was creating the 'Mike' group above.  Now the Android client crashes, you can tell it is hanging on the Channel Group selection.

logs from docker:

wow, the bbcode for "code" is broken it seems, throwing a lot of broken html/bbcode.  I'll just plain-text post:

x.y.z is my public facing port-forwarded URL.

I submitted the Android crash reports to you, but if there is another way to see logs on Android let me know.

Interestingly, I deleted the empty group on the server, and the client continues to crash, but with a different log:

  Open stream in external player
Posted by: ctrlbrk - 2020-06-06, 08:03 PM - Forum: NextPVR Android Client - Replies (6)

Hi guys,

I want to switch from TVH to NextPVR.  I love the simplicity and the "it just works" philosophy, although I do miss some of the power user settings I get in tvh.

Anyway, I have one HUGE gripe that is preventing me from switching.  The wife factor!!

She needs to be able to open the app, click the guide, and then Chromecast.  With TVH, there was a client called tvhclient by Robert that had Chromecast built-in.  However, this is not needed.

What is needed is super simple... please let us choose a default player!  In my case, I would chose VLC for her on Android, and then she'll get the Chromecast icon right there even if the stream needs converting - VLC will do it seamlessly.

How hard would it be to do this please?  I would love it if you could send me a test APK.  I have a four Chromecasts in my house, three Android devices that would have the client, and a huge library of videos and IPTV streams to test against.

Thank you

Not recognising channel icon links in XMLTV file
Posted by: gdogg371 - 2020-06-06, 07:04 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

I have built my own XMLTV file and have http links for both the channel icon and a promo picture for each program.

The channel xml for example looks like this:

Code:
<channel id="YESTERDAY">     <display-name lang="en">YESTERDAY</display-name>     <display-name>155</display-name>     <icon src="https://d2n0069hmnqmmx.cloudfront.net/epgdata/1.0/newchanlogos/80/35/skychb2305.png" />     <url></url>   </channel>

...and the program xml looks like this:

Code:
<programme start="20200608100000 +0100" stop="20200608103000 +0100" channel="ComedyCent+1">     <title lang="en">The King of Queens</title>     <desc lang="en">Pilot: Doug (Kevin James) and Carrie were happy. Then Carrie&apos;;s father, Arthur (Jerry Stiller), accidentally burns his own house down, and Arthur and Carrie&apos;;s sister have to move in... (S1, E01)</desc> <icon src="https://images.metadata.sky.com/pd-image/704af8fd-826a-4b85-8238-00861bbdf350/16-9/640" />   </programme>

Anyone tell me why none of the links appear to be populating in NPVR?

Thanks

  Files recorded
Posted by: dodgydart - 2020-06-06, 05:22 PM - Forum: Windows - Replies (5)

When I record programs I just wonder what the other files are that appear in the recorded folder?

For instance, there is always a ".temp M3U8 file", a .xml file, and two other video files.  The two other files are the recording which is always recorded at a large bitrate, and another .temp TS file that typically is of a much lower bitrate, that timewise lasts about half the time of the main recording.

Just interested!

How about a link directly to the forum post when a new update is indicated on the Settings page.
