Posted by: SoundGirls - 2006-06-30, 02:00 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (14)

Two men have been out drinking. they are walking home and telling jokes. As they are walking over this large bridge they stop to pee.

As they are peeing off the side of the bridge one man says to the other

"This water is cold" (man 1)

"YEA and it's deep too" (man2)

  Can't open config.exe all of a sudden
Posted by: Talcum - 2006-06-30, 01:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I tried opening config.exe to change some settings in GBPVR and am met with the following .NET error.

EventType clr20r3, P1 config.exe, P2 1.0.2344.23210, P3 1, P4 system.xml, P5 2.0.0.0, P6 4333ae70, P7 6b1, P8 27, P9 system.xml.xmlexception, P10 NIL.

I've tried moving my Plugins folder out of gbpvr, and tried reinstalling ver 97.09 without any change in the error. I've checked my event logs and I've been getting this error repeatedly for the past week.

I hadn't needed or wanted to make any changes in GBPVR til now and haven't been having any problem.

Log files are attached.

Boo hoo - More conflict control?
Posted by: mobiusnz - 2006-06-29, 09:46 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I was recording Lost & Invasion on one channel and CSI NY & Prison Break on the other (I know I'm a junky, but 3 of those and House are my favorite programs at present - along with Trailer park boys).

The problem was

Lost 7:30 - 8:25 - Invasion 8:25 - 9:30
CSINY 7:30 - 8:30 - Prison Break 8:30 - 9:30

So I had an issue at that there was an intersection that required more than 2 tuners. My solution was to normally quick record tv3 (CSI and Prison Break) and then record Lost with a 1 hour 10 minute post padding. This all looked good in principal but obviously GBPVR's desire to switch tuners overode my 1 hour post padding. In hindsight I should have done a manual recording I guess but the upshot is I missed this weeks invasion (nooooooooooooo - finally a program with intrigue where something actually HAPPENS each week!).

This leads me to a question which noone will probably notice in this post but I'll ask it anyway - Anyone no of a nice SFF pc thats as efficiently cooled as the Shuttles (the heatpipe system is sooooo quiet) that has 2 pci slots. My current shuttle has 1 agp and 1 pci - I have obtained another MCE500 dual tuner card which would give me 4 tuners - 1 more than I'm every likely to need in NZ for the forseeable future so I'm on the scout for a replacement pc in the lounge to take 2 x PCI Tv cards. I really want AMD 64 support as they run a little cooler than Intel so if you have temperature controlled cooling it'll be quiet more.

Bad click at start of audio tracks with MVP
Posted by: dazza139 - 2006-06-29, 09:26 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

Hello

Does anyone else have this problem. I have high quality encoded mp3s which I play through the mvp. Quite often there is a loud click at the start of a track which can't be good for my stereo. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any solutions? e.g. different dongle (I am using the default dongle at present). Is it possible to reduce the pause between tracks as well?

Is MediaMVP software required for Divx playback/transcoding?
Posted by: Beerman - 2006-06-29, 09:03 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (5)

Is MediaMVP software required for Divx playback/transcoding?

I have tried playing back a divx file running GB-PVR through my MVP. The screen goes black, and nothing happens. I never installed the MediaMVP software - is this the issue?

In the MVP tab in the GB-PVR config, the use FFmpeg of transcode box is checked.

My processor is AMD Athlon 3000+, 2.16 GHz.

Thanks.

i have set two capture devices - is that right? am using v0.97.7 on xp pro with xp2800/512mb ram and a 6800 128mb xfx card.

also noticed that the card is a bundled kit for win MCE and came with a remote. does this version only work with MCE of xp?

cheers

  new member...some questions...
Posted by: pat2000 - 2006-06-29, 07:05 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and also new to the concept of PVR.

I want to use my laptop as a PVR. It is a COMPAQ presario 2100, AMD atlon 2400+, 512Mb ram, 40 Gb hard drive (maybe an upgrade to 80 Gb soon).

I plan to use GBPVR to to record TV show, play MP3 and watch DVD. I also plan to build a HTPC computer later this year so my laptop will be use only to learn more about GBPVR and the PVR concept.

My problem is that I need a IR blaster to control my satellite box. My plan was to use the Hauppauge WinTV-PVR-USB2 MCE kit but I'm not sure if it will work with GBPVR? Would it be better if I buy the non-MCE version and buy a microsoft remote so I will have the IR blaster? What is my best option?

Your help is needed!

Thanks!

Pat
