  Delete files from MVP
Posted by: tomqioty - 2006-06-02, 02:28 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

Is there a way to delete videos from the mvp after viewing? I know in alternative gui's you can, but I actually like the stock mvp interface. Is there a line of code I could add?

live tv stutter first few seconds
Posted by: two55309 - 2006-06-02, 01:49 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

sub,

i'm still getting a stutter the first few seconds of live tv. during this time, the sound is playing normally, but the video is lagging behind. then suddenly the video sprints ahead to catch the sound. when it does this, i can see the osd flash up. it used to be that after that everything as okay, but now the video lags slighty behind the sound.

i've deleted everything from the plugins folder, just using the standard gbpvr install. using the sql database also. version 97.7. i've also been getting a connection refused after gbpvr finishes recording, but i followed some other posts advise (making sure the postprocessing.bat file is not empty (its not there), and a firewall(which i'm not using)). but that seems to have been corrected for the time being.

i have reproduced the error and attached the logs. all i did was basically goto live tv and let it stutter.

any insight on this?

THANKS

  TV in half screen
Posted by: micfong - 2006-06-02, 01:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Today, when I started GBPVR, the Video shows in only the left half of the screen. [Image: Screen022.jpg]

What is the problem here. It starts out fine for a second, because the picture on the right is a full screen picture. But then it changes to only the left half on the screen. How do I fix this?

  posting support questions
Posted by: sub - 2006-06-02, 12:22 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Make your thread title and description useful!!
It's really pointless to post just a message saying GBPVR is broke!!.
At least if you're going to post that, say that GBPVR is broke in Live TV, or in Music Library. Try and give some indication in the title of what you were doing when the error occured.

Make sure your description gives as much information as you can about the problem, otherwise I'm likely to ignore your question.

Zip and attach your logs
The logs are found in c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\logs directory (unless you installed to another place).
Unless I ask for a specific log, then I mean all the logs. (typing individual log file names is my pet peeve)
You need winzip or another zip program (windows explorer in XP right click and send to Compressed Folder") to zip up all the files that end with .log in that directory.
Then in your post you hit "Go advanced" in the forum, then you can attach files with the button "manage attachments".

Object Reference not set
This is probably the most common error. It's a general .Net error which can be caused by lots of different things. The most useful thing you can do is Zip and Attach your logs (see above).

Give a version number
Give the version number of the GBPVR you are running, v0.97.7, v0.96.12, etc

Plugins
One of the biggest problems results from plugins. Try removing them to a subdirectory and see if your problems still exist.
Also what might be helpful is to mention all of the plugins that you are running (with versions if known). This will certainly help any of the plugin developers if they see the thread.

Report back if it's solved
There are some support request where it's not clear if the problem is solved or still open. Everybody who is using the search for specific problems they have would want to know what to do and what solved the issues. A short post like "changed that, now problems are solved" is great. If you have done nothing (like only rebooted, restarted service) but the issues have stopped, that's helpfull info too if it solved your issues.

  Sticky for posting support threads??

I sure this has been mentioned before, not sure why it was never taken up.

Maybe someone can post a sticky thread with what info to give sub for posting a problem.

Has anyone tried using an AV transmitter for GBPVR?
Posted by: wannabepvr - 2006-06-01, 09:58 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (9)

Ok, MVP is a great option if you want a independently functioning satellite.

But I have an A OR B situation and wondered if an AV transmitter might be a no brain option.

As opposed to the old RF transmitters this now operate in the 2.4GHz range and supposedly have a line of sight range of 100m. (sure you would never really get this but I only want 10 or 15)

Some even have remote 'blaster' type function where your remote signals are supposed to be relayed back to the source.

So has anyone tried these? Comments good or bad appreciated.

  oledb problem
Posted by: cramp - 2006-06-01, 08:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hello,
I am still having some sort of problem when trying to use vides archive and x-record it’s causing gbpvr to shutdown after loading up. I can’t work out what’s going on it works well with weather, rss feed and my music, I have had errors in the log files relating to oledb and have tried a number of things to sort this out.

1. Uninstall, turn off services and re install plugging, common gbr utilities’ and gbpvruieleme.

2. Tried using different configuration settings for the pluggins.

3. Downloaded SQLite DB and ran gbpvr DB configures.

4. Loaded and run all the required add on software e.g. cuttermaran, DAEMON tools, Dmc audio imput, power DVD video decoder, Auto dvr convert, forceaspi17 and Beesweet!

I have no idea what to try next, dose anyone know what these plug-ins have to do with the oleDB or why this is happening, it’s not very nice!

Thanks in advance.
