  Nova-T USB2 not supported?
Posted by: emtee - 2006-06-02, 06:38 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I recently bought a Hauppauge Nova-T USB2 (93000 rev 2).

Having found the supplied WinTV2000 application virtually unusable, I'm looking for an alternative. The GBPVR homepage states that Nova-T USB2 is supported, so I installed it.

Everything seems to work up to the point where I try to scan for channels using the "Tuning Assistant".

The dialogue that opens when it starts asks me to select my card and country, but no "Nova" cards are listed.

I tried all the other Hauppauge devices, and everytime I get the error "Failed to find crossbar filter. Wrong device type?".

Any ideas? What vital piece of information have I missed?

How Much Money Do You Have In Your GBPVR Setup?
Posted by: bdgbill - 2006-06-02, 06:14 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (31)

How much money (US$) do you have invested in your GBPVR setup? Do not include costs for TV's or donations to GBPVR.

  NOD32, exclusion works fine.
Posted by: HtV - 2006-06-02, 05:29 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

I saw sub's addition to the 97.7 sticky.
I have NOD32 running, without problems I think.
I made exclusions for GBPVR.exe, gbpvrrecordingservice.exe and for config.exe. I'm not sure I needed all 3 of them, but did so just to be sure.
The exclusions should be made in: IMON-setup-miscellaneous-exclusions.

Can't play wmv files in gbpvr after updating to wmp10
Posted by: rshaw - 2006-06-02, 05:03 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Thanks Sub for a great program.

I am having a minor problem. GB-PVR will not play any wmv files in the Video Library Plugin after I updated from windows media player 9 to 10. The wmv files that I am trying to play do not have drm. They play fine in windows media player 10.

I'm using gbpvr 97.7 with a modified gbpvr.exe file which Sub made available to fix DVD playback locking up GBPVR. For details see http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=16173 .

I am using nvidia purevideo decoder with VMR9 but have tried System Default decoder and overlay with no luck.

Here are my log files:

If you look through the logs you will see that each of the wmv files is immediately stopped. Also, in the log you can see that I played a mpeg file which seemed to play fine.

Thanks.

  v0.97.9 Survival Guide
Posted by: sub - 2006-06-02, 04:51 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I've made this sticky (closed) thread to post useful information about problems that may arrise, or to get useful tips out there. I'll add more information to this thread as we start to get feedback from this new release. If anyone has info they feel should be included here, please PM me.

Some important first comments though...

Installing v0.97.9

As always, its recommended that you backup your config.xml and gbpvr.mdb files if you're upgrading from a previous release. Do not copy these back on to the new release though - these are just in case you need to go back to the old version.

This release requires .NET 2.0 to be installed. You must install this before upgrading. You can get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

I recommend switching back to the default Blue skin until your skin of choice has been updated for compatibility with this new release.

If you encounter problems with anything starting, I recommend the first thing you try is temporarily removing the DLLs from the c:\programfiles\devnz\gbpvr\plugin directory. Some of the original .net 1.1 plugins work fine, but some other will need to updated by their respective authors. Many of the plugins have already been updated, with new versions available on the wiki. Dont just ignore this paragraph - this has resolved most issues that have popped up with v0.97.7 and v0.97.9.

  Want to Recompress HD content?
Posted by: pBS - 2006-06-02, 04:28 PM - Forum: Community Announcements - Replies (2)

turns out the latest Avivo codecs can handle recompression of HD mpeg streams! Smile not a real HD user myself but haven't seen many HD quality encoders out there and the speed of Avivo is definitely needed for HD content..

the regular interface shows the mpeg2 HD option and i made a command-line prog. for the directshow filters that enable you to set the parameters yourself without constraints..Smile [do search or PM me]

just wasn't sure if the HD users out there knew of that..and available ONLY with the new avivo updates...[update your atidvcr.dll and atixcode.dll from newer ati drivers...codec now available as seperate download from ATI]

anyone with hd content, let me know how it goes...
[i don't have hd card]

  v0.97.9 (maintenance release)
Posted by: sub - 2006-06-02, 04:16 PM - Forum: NextPVR Announcements - Replies (87)

I've just uploaded the new v0.97.9 release to http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR09709.msi

This is maintenance release that address several issues identified with the recent v0.97.7 release. Patches to many of these issues had already made available in the forums, but this release rolls them up in one easy to install update.

ITS VERY IMPORTANT YOU READ THE FOLLOWING:

This release requires .NET 2.0 to be installed. You must install this before upgrading. You can get it from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

NOD32, Panda Antivirus and Net Limiter are known to be incompatible with .NET 2.0 Remoting, which is used by GB-PVR. If any of these apps are installed on your machine, they will cause the Recording Service crash, so they must be uninstalled before installing this update.

As always, its recommended that you backup your config.xml and gbpvr.mdb files if you're upgrading from a previous release. Do not copy these back on to the new release though - these are just in case you need to go back to the old version.

If you're upgrading from a release prior to v0.97.7, I recommend switching back to the default Blue skin until your skin of choice has been updated for compatibility with this new release.

If you encounter problems with starting GB-PVR. I recommend the first thing you try is temporarily removing all plugins from the 'plugins' directory. Most of the original .net 1.1 plugins work fine, but some will need to updated by their respective authors. Many of the plugins have already been updated, with new versions available on the wiki

  photo library remember rotations
Posted by: jam_zhou - 2006-06-02, 03:46 PM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

I like the rotation feature of Photo Library. Now, I was wondering if it would remember that it was rotated for the next viewing.

This would save me a lot of time.

Thanks.
