So i came across NextPVR since i was looking for a solution that is capable of merging channels, so i gave it a try. Currently running on version 5.0.5.200518.
So basically I have two XC accounts with the same IPTV provider. The provider limits the connection of streams to 1 per set of credentials so 2 accounts equals 2 simultaneous streams.
I started off with using the "Import using XC" button and imported the two credentials but i quickly noticed a bug in the implementation. Explanation Below:
Upon using the "Auto Merge" button and checking the devices again both XC lists show the same credentials (The credentials used are from the list that has higher priority). IE: both show https://prnt.sc/smlu9c
So upon using the "Auto Merge" it is editing the XC configuration resulting in issues..
Due to this current issue i opted to import both m3u via by giving them the URL myself and downloaded the .m3u file to test with VLC via the /service?method=channel.m3u endpoint (Selected 10 channels on both playlists for tests and limited the "max-connections" to 1 on both) and merged the channels.
After rechecking the "devices" again it was noted that the same issue persisted ie, the credentials of the second playlist got replaced with the credentials with the higher priority..
My Goal was to use the generated M3U from NextPVR to be able to stream two separate streams but the above causes the oldest playing stream to timeout when more than 1 stream is open.
Also i would like to suggest adding a looped video displaying "No Streams available" or not returning a stream if all max-connections are already taken by someone else. Current implementation results in the new stream taking over the old one which i dont think is ideal since it results in stream disruptions.
Can someone look into this showstopper?

Tonight whilst trying to watch a few channels on IPTV, it would play for 45 seconds or so and then freeze for a couple of seconds...then resume playing and then freeze again.
At first, I wondered if it was because I had xteve serving up the channels to NPVR (xteve/npvr/kodi all on the same box). So I added a couple of channels direct from the IPTV provider (even though xteve was set to forward with no buffer). But it still buffered.
I tried it using an IPTV app and the playback is fine. So I then restarted NPVR and tried it through the web interface, but it was the same play/freeze/play/freeze/etc
I've included logs, but not sure if you need me to try something specific.
I flushed the logs, restarted npvr and then opened the webpage / went to tv guide and selected the channel.
Also in the debug log it showed the full url/port/user/pass of my IPTV provider, which I removed. When I added the channels, I logged in via the new XC button that Sub created, so perhaps that needs to be obfuscated in the logs?
Let me know what else you need to try and debug this please.
I don't see a check box in the V5 settings to enable the "Are you sure"? prompt before deleting a recording or video file. Is it missing or have I just not found it?
The "Ok" button on my Harmony 650 remote is absurdly tiny so occasionally one of the arrow buttons get pressed while trying to press OK, which can result in Delete being accidentally selected just a millisecond before the OK button gets pressed. That confirmation box is VERY welcome when this happens.
Sub, I poked around a bit but can't find an answer. Does the web server piece do any sort of logging? I'm just looking for failed login attempts so I can use fail2ban.
NextPVR runs on Windows 10 in a network with the Fritzbox FRITZ!Box 6490. The DVB-Reciver is detected, but it can't find a channel.
I think the hardware is not properly recognized, but I'm not sure.

So firstly, Sub if this should be in another forum, please move it (and accept my apologies), but as it was more S/W based rather than H/W, I wasn't sure where to put it.
Currently I have an elitedesk 800 as my machine running NPVR and Kodi, with NPVR using a HDHomeRun Quattro for OTA TV and an IPTV service.
Before I found NextPVR, I was using another machine as a HTPC, running J-River and a TBS6909 card for Freesat.
That PSU recently went pop in that box, and as I don't use it now, I've decided to repurpose it.
As I've filled up 2 x 6 bay QNAPs and don't really fancy forking out for a 3rd, I am going to use this box for it.
It has a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P Mobo, C2Q Q9550 @2.83ghz, 8GB Ram and a 1GB HD5850.
It has 8 x SATA (6 x 3Gb/s and 2 x 3Gb/s).
I am looking for a NAS setup, where hopefully I could also run NextPVR as well.
I first looked at XigmaNAS, as it looks pretty polished since they forked.
The downside is it's BSD based and doesn't look like they have docker support, as reading this docker is broken at the moment. So no way of running NPVR on it?
So was then potentially thinking something like OMV, as it's linux based, so I should then be able to install NPVR.
I don't need it to do anything fancy, as most things I can do from the QNAPs if needed, it literally just has to hold files and give me a web interface so I can keep tabs on it.
The main thing that I need, is if the mobo/cpu etc dies and I need to transfer the array over to another machine (or fit a new mobo), I won't lose anything and it will recognise the array and be able to use it.
Next up, if I went with OMV, what would be best practice to install NPVR. Just install "as-is", or run in a docker container (as it looks like there is a plugin for OMV to run docker)
Because I've never used docker before, I don't exactly know how it works, is it just like a mini-linux VM? If so can you apportion how much system resources go to it, or will it just share the resources?
Can you pass hardware through to it? i.e. the TBS6909?
Then, how will I get the EPG for the channels served by the satellite. I currently use EPG Collector, is there a recommended linux package that can grab what I need? Or can NPVR handle this internally? as I've seen "DVB/ATSC EPG" in EPG Sources, but wasn't sure how well it worked?
Or... should I just stick with Win10 on the machine and create a volume with Parity, so I can use the windows versions of EPG Collector and NPVR - but I'd not be able to monitor the drives remotely (unless there is a decent tool that has a web interface for windows, that allows me to do so).
I'd really appreciate peoples suggestions/recommendations to help me decide which way to go!
Yesterday, I installed a new HDHomeRunQuatro on my network. I had previously done a Docker install of NextPVR on my NAS (QNAP TS-451+) while waiting for the Quatro to arrive.
After getting everything hooked up, I scanned and located the Quatro tuners and then setup my SD credentials and scanned for channels. Didn't get as many channels as I hoped I'd get, but it was a start! I was able to install the NextPVR add-on for Kodi, and I was watching TV, so I was happy.
Then I decided to relocate my antenna to see if I could do any better on channel reception. That's when everything fell apart. Kodi wasn't able to play anything, so I decided I needed to rescan. That worked with no problems, but didn't solve the Kodi problem. Reinstalling the Kodi addon didn't help either. Next I tried to stream something from within the NextPVR administration page. I could see the channel guide, but every time I tried to watch something (by clicking on it and hitting Watch Now), I got a page that looked like it was going to show, but after a few seconds, I'd get a red message at the bottom that said something like "stream failed". (I don't remember the exact message, and I can't replicate it at the moment, as you'll see shortly!)
I was able to install the HDHomeRun app on a few devices and watch various channels, so I know it's getting that far!
After messing with this for a few hours, I decided to call it a night. This morning I was ready to tackle it again and discovered I could no longer get to the login page to administer the NextPVR backend. So, I went the nuclear route - I blew away the container and started over!
That didn't help... Within the QNAP Container Station, I can see that the container is running, but when I try to go to the login page in my browser, I just get the "can't reach this page" message, so I can't do much else..
There is a new show starting in the UK next week called Alan Carr's Epic Gameshow.
First episode is airing Saturday the 30th.
On NextPVR under the IPTV listings, it is showing S01E04... but I'm looking at the SD XML and cannot see how NextPVR is obtaining this.
The OTA Guide that i grab with EPG Collector also shows S01E04, as I think this was originally due to air earlier, but changed due to lockdown.

Is it something to do with the dd_progid or xmltv_ns, where it is getting the episode number from?
I'm going to send an update to SD (and ITV), but it just puzzled me where NPVR was getting the details from when I couldn't see it in the XML
