I find that if I try to play a program that is still being recorded GBPVR just shows a black screen and locks up. If I try playing the program (mpg file) with Windows Media Player I get a message saying "The file is already in use. Close other programs that might be using the file, or stop playing the file, and then try again."
I don't know why this has started happening now, it was working OK and I can't think of what I might have changed.
Recorded Doctor Who tonight on BBC3. My usual setup - dvr-ms recording with ASAP transcode to mpeg2 and set to update the DB and delete original file afterwards.
The mpg file that was created is 64MB in size, the original dvr-ms file is 1.2GB (and thankfully wasn't deleted) and the DB still points at the dvr-ms file.
The GBPVRConvert logfile shows success though. Other DVB-T recordings also seem to have failed to transcode properly.
I did a completely new install (freshly imaged WinXP Machine w/ .net 2.0). Never had GBPVR on this computer before. Install went fine, setup everything and the service starts in the tray.
Some Problems I've had:
I went to start GBPVR from the tray...nothing. I'm not able to start it from the tray at all. However, I'm able to use the start menu to get to it just fine.
Net Radio will not play anything at all...it's not a network/firewall issue either...I connected this machine direct connect with no firewall to test it.
When closing GBPVR I get the same 'Microsoft Send Error Report' message that has been posted about.
Under Playback tab, Video Decoder Settings, Capture fails no matter what decoders are set to and even though liveTV and recording work fine.
After about 15 minutes of solid Television...the screen went black while sound continued to play. I restarted GBPVR but could only get to a black screen with no controls. Rebooted the PC and was able to get to GBPVR controls again....however, could not play live TV...ran the config, changed from overlay to vmr9 custom and problem went away...I can play live TV again now...however, overlay doesn't work for me anymore
From the TV Guide to Live TV takes around 6-10 seconds before the TV is displayed.
Pausing liveTV enters timshift mode as normal...however, after the screen goes dark and the message is displayed, once righting itself back to the video...the video is completely black. I see no picture when pausing live TV. So if I fast forward...nothing but black. Also, if I hit play again, the video kicks back in but the video has skipped forward about 20-30 frames. For example, in Grey's Anatomy earlier tonight, one character was entering the room, I hit pause, and after the video came back on she was beside the bed of the patient...skipped many frames. Now I suppose this could be a setting right? If so, I'm at a loss as to which one
I've attached my log files (as many as I could find in the directory).
I just upgraded to the latest version today, and all seems to work well with one exception. When I start GBPVR, I get the menu on my PC, but not on my TV. I can watch live tv, watch recordings, but dont seem to have any of the on screen displays. I have a PVR350. Any suggestions to try?
I just upgraded to the version that requires .net.. and now GBPVR.exe and CONFIG.exe crash when I load them.
Config.exe says:
"This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem"
GBPVR.exe crashes with a standard "Report this error to microsoft" dialog, looked into it more, it's generating a "system.badimageformatexception" error.. Seems like this is because I have a 64 bit system? http://blogs.msdn.com/joshwil/archive/20...06567.aspx
Is there any way to fix this? Neither program is producing a .LOG file when they crash. Every other executable runs fine, except for the two important ones.
I'm running Windows XP SP2 x64 edition..
Could you release a version compiled for x64? Previous versions of gbpvr worked fine.

I thought I had BlueMCE2 working fine with GB-PVR v.96.12 and I really liked the look. Today I upgraded to v.97 and my FM Radio stations would not display properly. I had a red 'X' where the station frequency and name normally is. Reverting to the 'Blue' skin solved the problem.
Thinking the problem was to do with v.97 I did a complete uninstall and went back to .96 but the red 'X' problem is still there. Although I can't be sure, I'm almost certain that it did work fine with BlueMCE2 before. Maybe there's something left over after the uninstall that I can't identify.
Anyway, I wondered if anyone knows a fix for this problem.
Has anyone else besides me noticed lower picture quality from the pvr150, as compared side-by-side to a vcr tuner or the tv tuner? I notice the following: 1) fuzzy edges on objects in picture, 2) less detail such as wood grain on a park bench, 3) brightly colored objects are washed out or seem too bright, 4) picture seems to be less rich, 5) blacks are hard to distinguish in low light scenes(loss of detail in low light is very noticable), etc. My home theater system contains: yamaha rxv-2095 receiver(high end model) and a sony kv2781r trinitron tv. Does anyone have experience or any information on this?
Hi all.
I just built a PVR using the following:
Intel Desktop board - D845GEBv2 with an Intel 2.4
1 gig of ram
2 HD's: 1 seagte 80gig for OS and programs 1 120gig for data
eVGA nVidia 6200 vid card
Linksys 54g pci card
Creative sound blaster audigy 4 se
Diamond Xtreme 550PCI bundle with BTV3, Beyond Media, and firefly remote.
Now my question is, has anyone got a success story on getting GBPVR to work with the above card? I don't see it listed in the hardware listing, I cant find a thread noting any reference to this card (except for help), and "that other site" does not have any solutions either.
I have GB installed but will not go to LiveTV. It says it has failed to communicate with the capture device.
Any help would be greatly appreciated here. I would hate to have to use BTV for this project.
