Hi All, I've successfully "integrated" foobar CD playing into GBPVR.
I install Foobar2000 and install the foo_osd plugin. Change the shortcut keys for foobar to be the same as GBPVR and set it to global settings. This way, foobar intercepts all the relevant commands. I also tell it to limit the speed of the ROM.
I have play, ff, rw, next, previous, pause, random (ctrl G), normal play (ctrl R) set up. Now I can actually fast forward through a song.
I have a simple OSD that shows track name and elapsed time near the bottom of the screen. I have it always one, but you can have it disappear after few seconds as well.
I launch foobar with the following script which checks for a valid CD and then brings GBPVR back into focus.
dim FSO: set FSO = wscript.CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
dim CDDrive, qu, cdplayerexe
Dim Files, File, WshShell
'---------done set these variables------------------
'--------Check for a CD-------------
Wscript.sleep(3000)
qu=0
if NOT fso.fileExists(CDDrive+"track01.cda") then
qu = msgbox ("Please insert a disk into the top drive",0)
Wscript.Quit(0)
End if
if NOT fso.fileExists(cdplayerexe) then
wScript.echo cdplayerexe, " Does not exist"
Wscript.Quit(0)
End if
I have GBPVR installed and I am attempting to view previously downloaded files through the Video Library. These are not recorded shows, just some avi files that I have had and play with no problem with other Media Players on the same computer. GBPVR sees the files fine but when I attempt to play one it appears the application locks for a few seconds, nothing plays, then GBPVR starts responding again.
Just for kicks I downloaded the My Videos plugin and this exhibits the same exact problem. I set that plugin to use an external player (Video LAN) which works with no problems.
I assume this has something to do with my Software decoder? Since I am using a Hauppauge 150 I have the one that comes with it and the System Default whatever the hell that is but both have the same issue.
Would love some suggestions because I really want to use this great software.
I think someone might have asked this before but I cant find the thread.
Is it possible to have a plugin which has no user interface, i.e., just runs as a background thread within the gbpvr context so it can properly access the public gbpvr APIs? I have a little utility which I would normally run as a system service but I think I read somewhere that external processes can't properly access the APIs. Is that the case?
My Hauppauge PVR-350 works fine with video and sound playing videos or live TV - (except composite out does not seem to work anymore - used to - S-video is fine - strange).
But, I cannot make net radio play on the Hauppauge audio out - it plays on the soundcard - which mean I would have to switch cords when changing to net radio.
I was running win2k with gbpvr just dandy with a Haup pvr500 for a few months. Reformatted and upgraded to winxp and now I can't launch config. I get a plain old "Config.exe has encountered an error..." message with no option for more details. No hardware changes whatsoever in the system.
