Has anyone seen Media MVP Beta 3.0.24088 that's on SHSPVR.
It installs and add's some new things, however it doesn't seem to work with GBPVR anymore. It also seems like my MVP I tried it on was blurier under GBPVR afterwards.
Wonder if anyone else has tried it or had any luck.
I swapped a 160 gig hdd with a 300 gig hdd. I copied everything from the 160 to the 300. Now when I go to recordings in gbpvr, nothing shows up. I added the folder to the video library and all of my recordings show up. Can someone tell me what is going on?
Something odd about the MVP I just picked up today. It has an extra RCA style jack on the back of it. I've got the usual red, white & yello rca jacks but I've also got a black one.
There's also a sticker on the back that says: Wired MAC and Wireless MAC.
I'm guessing that the extra jack is for an antenna, however there's no mention of this in the manual, nor is there an antenna included in the box.
Anyone know if this is what it's for? The jack in question is right beside the 10BT jack.
Does anyone know if it is possible to play DRM protected movies downloaded from Telstra's (Australia) Bigpond movie download service (or anyone esle for that matter)?
I downloaded some test files which work fine playing on the PC via Windows Media Player v10 but nothing via GBPVR - either the PC or the MVP.
I assume it doesn't work via GBPVR is because the DRM can't be decoded by GBPVR - does that sound right? I emailed Bigpond support but they could onlyl confirm that it would work via a Media Centre Extender (with XP Media Centre) - I guess a Media Centre Extender would have the smarts to decode the DRM.
Is ther anyway that GBPVR can use Windows Media Player to send the video signal to an MVP? Would a variation on the DVD transcoding trick work?
Anyway - I don't want to go back to watching movies on the 17"LCD PC monitor when I could be watching them on the 32" LCD TV....
I've been trying to get my MVP working, and it's almost there. I can get the GBPVR menu to show, I can navigate through it's menus, watch recordings, watch liveTV, and change channels.
The problem is it screen blacks out when the recoding is finished or I press "Back" on the remote. If I then press TV I get live TV, but the only way to get the GBPVR menus back is to cycle the power on the MVP. Hard or by using the green power button on the remote.
It doesn't matter what image I use, dongle or gbmvp.bin I have the same results.
It also seems to me that the guide is offset to far down on the screen.
I've updated to the latest release version of the MVP software & copied the dongle.bin into the correct dir, unplugging it to make sure it loaded. This had no effect.
I've also made sure the services were stopped and I've used the stop.bat file provided for good measure.
Hi, just installed your amazing and free(well done) GBPVR, however, when i try to get started and update the epg online, i get the following message
btw, complete newbie when it comes to these software issues
thanks

Has anyone configured GBPVR to work with Sql Server Express instead of Access? I noticed an earlier thread where this subject was discussed, but it hasn't been updated in quite awhile. Will this work or are there still some incompatibilities? It looks as though some people have had some luck migrating over but the migration hasn't been without problems. I understand this isn't supported by sub, but it would be nice to use sql server. Thanks...
I frequently record shows that have multiple episodes back-back. I would be nice if they could be recorded as one file. That way when editing or making DVDs from them, I don't ahve to worry about it cutting the intro of a show onto another show. When it is a very important recording, I will cancel the scheduled episodes, and then do a manual recording of the entire time frame. Maybe when you select another show, have a choice for "append to previous recording".
I have been using GB-PVR for around a year now and I love it. Last night I upgraded to the latest version (0.96 I think?). Until last night I was using 0.94 I believe. My tuner is a Hauppauge PVR-250, with the IR remote "dongle." After the upgrade live TV no longer works and when recording shows to disk, GB-PVR can no longer change channels using my IR remote. When trying to watch live TV I get "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." When it's recording it just records whatever the Dish box is set to and doesn't change the channel.
