  Audio CD w/Hauppauge remote
Posted by: mikeh49 - 2006-03-31, 05:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

When playing an audio CD using the base GBPVR 0.96.12 music library, i.e., no music plug-in, the remote (using irremote.ini) does not control the player, for example cannot skip to next or previous track, or pause. Is this the way it's supposed to work? Is there a Win Media Player instance running under GBPVR such that the WMP section of irremote.ini should be in control? Any answers/suggestions appreciated. Thanks.

  PVR-150 vs PVR-150MCE
Posted by: Krugar - 2006-03-31, 04:57 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (5)

Hi all,

I purchased a PVR-150MCE from BestBuy (in Canada), in a sealed box. I opened it up and found a PVR-150. I'm not overly concerned, I was after a PVR-150 anyway & couldn't find one in stock. It came with the 45 button remote & IR blaster as well.

It also came with drivers for win2K & XP so it definately doesn't require media center. In fact I'm running it under XP pro right now.

Anyone know what the deal is though? I suspect this is part of the confusion between the models lol.

Cheers!

direct access to hauppauge - how to start gbpvr?
Posted by: alibert - 2006-03-31, 04:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Hi,

I used to take girder for my remote control, but since gbpvr has become the only pvr application on the computer, I've just switched over to use my hauppauge remote with the "use direct access" feature.

Everything is working fine, but there is one thing left to accomplish:
How do I start gbpvr with my remote? I know that I can use ir.exe from hcw, but I would prefer the direct-access way. And when ir.exe is running, the direct access stops working.

Maybe the recording service or GBPVRTray could listen to the "GRNPOWER" signal?
Or is it already possible to start gbpvr by direct access to the remote?

Newbie help: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Posted by: Technogeek - 2006-03-31, 04:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

Hi guys,

I'm new to this PVR game, so I hope you'll bear with me. I have a Hauppauge HVR1100 card installed, and the WinTV2000 that comes with it works fine (records, timeshifts etc). I've installed GB-PVR, and can view live TV, see programme listings etc, but whenever I try to record (or pause), I get the error message above. I've tried all the different settings for encoders/decoders and muxers, but still have the problem.

Afraid I don't know where to start with this. Anyone help?

Thanks very much

PS I'm based in UK if that makes a difference

gbpvr attempts to switch to tuner while recording
Posted by: dinki - 2006-03-31, 01:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've been using gbpvr for about a week now and I love it! It is an excellent piece of software.

I am, however, having an 'issue' while watching live tv. I have two PVR150s in my box. One has DirecTV on the composite in and cable tv in on the tuner. The other PVR150 only has cable in on the tuner. I've noticed that if I am watching live tv on the cable only card and try to switch to the other card to watch DirecTV channels (via typing in the channel number), things get really screwy. The OSD pops up like it normally would, but it doesn't show any channel information and doesn't change the channel. It does show the time and the time does update so the program is not in the 'Not Responding' state. It appears that gbpvr is still receiving commands as the screen flickers when I issue commands like exit and channel up/down.

It would appear to me that it is trying to switch to the tuner but can't and doesn't know what to do. The only way to clear it is to kill gbpvr from the task manager.

I'm attaching my logs if someone could be so kind as to take a look. Many thanks!

PVR350 and some issues, please help
Posted by: superstevo - 2006-03-31, 09:44 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Maybe it's just me, but I'm having some problems with my Hauppauge remote. I have changed the setting to direct connect, removed IR.exe from the startup, as well as updated the button config. through the dvd and remote tab with the remote button number.
When I have gb-pvr running, as it would at start up, I am unable to open/start the gb-pvr to be able to view tv.

Manually starting GB-pvr the remote works.. However, the Volume button controls the channels too. Along with the mute and the previous channel button.. Anyone know how to resolve these problems??
Thanks!
Steven

restart recording if it`s not growing normally
Posted by: ercuem - 2006-03-31, 09:21 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

- Added some logic to give recordings a second chance. 30 seconds after the recording was started, the file size is checked. If it is not growing normally, then the recording is stopped and restarted.

How can i stop this service?

Best regards

Performance issues (video hesitates) after major upgrades..
Posted by: Rexel99 - 2006-03-31, 08:53 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I did some big upgrades, running Twinhan Vp-3021 DVB-T and now the video stream (even playing previously recorded stuff) hesitates, just a bit to make it annoying. It's really noticable watching sports, or news/credits with smooth scrolling text (the real test!)

OK, I did new NVIDIA drivers for my G-Force MX 440 (composite output to tv)
New BDA drivers from Twinhan (this was a pain but I eventually got them in)
And then upgraded to the latest GBPVR

Love the new features, channel changing and everything is much nicer but this video problem is a pain. I have tried every variation of VRM 9/7 and overlay modes, some work as 16:9, some force 4:3 but either way the video is... slow. I am preferring VRM7 now, but used overlay before.

When I browse the Web TV guide from another machine, the TV really hesitates noticably which is the wierdest part.

System performance, while watching live TV is running at abouyt 50% (and doesnt really go over that).

So any suggestions? I think it's more the video card performance/driver than the app itself. I quickly run up the original Twinhan tv program and it seemed to do it too but I went through all the nvidia options and couldnt see anything that might help.

Again thanks for the new program and congrats on "release 2.0" Sub.

BFN, Rex.
