I just installed the apple TV app to work with server v.5.0.2.200322 installed on a Synology NAS with Docker. But no luck so far, the application crashes as soon as I go inside the TV guide...
I've made a short video showing what's happening after freshly installing the Apple TV app. At the beginning, you can view nextpvr web view showing the TV guide (so it is correctly populated) on my laptop. The Apple TV correctly finds the server, connects to it and displays the EPG in the LiveTV tab. But when in the TV Guide tab, nothing shows up and clicking on it makes the application instantaneously crash.
The video is here:
If I can help in any way to find what's happening, tell me!
I have 2 tuner cards in my HTPC - 1 is single channel and 1 is dual tuner. I scan channels with the single channel tuner card and after re-scan (due to FCC repack,) I have 5 listings for 11.1 (CBS) and 3 or 4 for 26.1 (ABC.)
Using NextPVR as backend for KODI on Windows 10. I have issues getting the recordings to complete successfully on these 2 channels. I have created a group with only the instances of the channels that actually have signal for recording purposes, but I still get sporadic failed recordings on only these 2 channels, but no others.
I am loathe to reinvent the wheel and re-scan again. I suspect that NextPVR is attempting to record scheduled shows on these 2 networks from non-functioning instances of those channels that seem to reappear despite my having changed channel names/numbers, etc...
Following the prior discussion in another thread, I came to understand that transcoding settings are per client (for instance if using the normal web client).
And in fact, that is happening as I have setup two progressive web-apps: one calling external domain name of nextpvr server and one calling the local network name of nextpvr server, and in each one, I can, in fact have a different preferred streaming profile which is kept when I set it.
The same is not however true for the video encoder setting which every time I change it in one of the two clients it also changes at both.
As the video encoder setting seems to be related with only a few parameters change in the ffmpeg command issued when a stream is requested with transcoding (i.e. when each client initiates the request) it could also be a per client setting, whereas now it is system-wide setting as it seems.
Somehow landscape art is displayed for a few of my recordings in kodi (with the arctic horizon skin) and I've been trying to work out how it happened as it won't do it for any new recordings.
Do you know how to get this to work?
It seems for new recordings I'm only getting artwork sent as icons rather than landscape or poster (hence the padding on the "flushed away poster" artwork)
Hi,
I've just upgraded from v4 to v5. I removed v4 first then set up v5. Initially I had problems with Firefox with autoplay disabled. I have now enabled it for localhost:8866 and it works for BBC1. I am still getting a failure with Dave where the browser says "Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)" and I can't work out what to do. I've tried searching but failed. The set up is all on the one Win10 machine, browsing on localhost. Logs are attached.
I'm new to NextPVR and this forum, hoping I can find some help.... I recently tried using NextPVR when support for Win 7 WMC was discontinued. I am in the US, and am now running on Windows 10 Pro version 1909 on a desktop with AMD Phenom II X4 965 processor running at 3.40 GHz, with 8GB RAM on a 64-bit operating system. I am using an original HD Homerun Dual ATSC tuner, model HDHR-US, and had upgraded my HD Homerun software when I upgraded to Windows 10. I can watch TV through the HD Homerun with no issues. I originally installed NextPVR version 4, but upgraded to v 5 couple of weeks or so ago to see if that would help to resolve my issues, but did not see any change.
My problem is that NextPVR does not record about half of my programs, while recording the other half. There doesn't seem to be any consistent pattern to the recording failures. I seem to record more recent movies more successfully than other shows and older movies, but I can't be confident that any show will record.
There are no failure messages in the Recent Recordings file. The PC seems to wake just fine when it is due to record. However, no recording takes place. The HD Homerun tuner light usually does not come on and NextPVR only creates a small file. Occasionally, it will capture a few seconds of video from the beginning of the scheduled recording time. If I look in NextPVR while this is happening, NextPVR appears to think that a recording is taking place. It does not allow me to schedule a recording of the show, only to cancel it. The XML file appears to be created normally at the end of the scheduled recording time.
To collect some data for review, during the past 36 hours, I restarted my computer and scheduled 10 recordings. 4 recordings were successful, while 6 failed to record, as follows (m/d/yy format):
Date Start Result
4/9/20 7:57 AM Failed
4/9/20 11:27AM Failed
4/9/20 1:57 PM Success (a movie)
4/9/20 2:57 PM Success (same show as 11:27 AM)
4/9/20 3:57 PM Success (a movie)
4/9/20 8:57 PM Success
4/10/20 3:57 AM Failure
4/10/20 5:27 AM Failure
4/10/20 11:27AM Failure
4/10/20 2:57 PM Failure
I have included all of the failed .ts files in my zip file.
I saw some posts discussing whether blocked ports might be contributing to problems. I used the netstat command to capture some port information and have included reports from the beginning and end of the 36 hour period with the .ts files.
Hope someone can help ... I really want this to work!
Just finished building a new HTPC. Still have the old trusty PC running NextPVR version 4 running.
I'm now installing the latest NPVR version 5 on the new PC. I'm at the point where I need to scan my HD Homerun Prime for channels. Here is what is happening.
I enter the Scan Channels area ... (Scan Channels)
Select Guiide ..
Shows list of available guides ?
Schedules Direct (USA-0000001-CUSTOM
Schedules Direct (USA-CT06437-X)
... Add Schedules Direct Lineup...
... Add XMLTV Lineup..
I don't know where the two shown available lineups came from? I first tried the first one "Schedules Direct (USA-0000001-CUSTOM"
End result was the guide kinda screwed up. Many channels missing, also some that did play had the wrong info. Also channels I've never seen. Those that worked, did play and record, but none contained the proper EPG data.
So I blew away that first setup and started over. this time selecting "... Add Schedules Direct Lineup..."
Continued from there selecting the shown available line up which I've been using on SD on my other pc running NPVR vers. 4. Which is "Comcast Andover (CT) - Digital (Andover)"
However when I try to continue I get an error message saying, " This site says .. undefined". I could be wrong but I think this is a "browser" error and might not be a NextPVR error? Note the old PC running 24/7 is still working fine and doing it's daily EPG updates etc. This new PC is eventually going to replace that old one. IF I can get by this setup problem.
I have tried both the MS Edge Browser, and am thinking this might be a browser issue. I will try again later with Firefox but wonder what you guys find works best. I am NOT a fan of the Chromium based browsers.
Sorry for the extra spaces between paragraphs .. still having problems with this form and can't get it to properly format my pages without adding several blank lines everywhere.
