Hi! Newbie in IPTV and PVR , so please excuse my ignorance...
I have installed this nextpvr in docker, in a kind of Synology" NAS, called EXpenology, basically is a custom synology envoroment , meant to run in home made hardware platforms. I run it in a HP NL54 server with AMD proccessor.
Everything is fine, I mean I managed to installed it on docker and it runs fine! I configured it for IPTV and I use it via the usual Kodi addon in windows 10.
I have only a "strange" problem with recordings...
When I push the record button in kodi for an instant recording , the recording starts normally but in in some moment there is a "repeat" of the video, it goes back some second and it continiues, then after some moments the same happens again... I see this behavor because I continue to watch the channel while I record it and this behavor is also recorded...
Any idea what may cause this?
I'm having some trouble displaying video meta information on NextPVR 4.2.5 32-bit.
I'm trying to manually make the information file for a movie using the xml format that NextPVR expects.
I have referenced the offical Wiki at https://www.nextpvr.com/nwiki/pmwiki.php...eoMetadata
I've searched the forum which suggested to use "movies.nfo" instead of "mymovies.xml".
So I have the one and only media folder "R:\Test"
It has one sub folder "Some Movie (2005) [1080p] [PG-13]" which contains:
Some Movie (2005) [1080p] [PG-13].mkv
folder.jpg
movie.nfo
For testing purposes "movie.nfo" contains ONLY the exact text of the wiki example.
When I go to "Videos" and highlight "Some Movie (2005) [1080p] [PG-13]" to the right is displayed
the folder icon and the file name but none of the other meta information.
What am I missing?
What else...
Download meta data is off.
Display meta data for videos is on.
Cleared artwork cache. Restart NextPVR.
Logs [Debug] show nothing related to the loading of the .nfo file.
I'm having problems with my setup sadly and hoping for some help on it
when watching live tv or recordings i experience freezes and stutters and constant buffering
this is when using the kodi addon the NPVR website it was working perfectly but one day i started too experience issues it has been the same since it seems too be mainly 1080p content but it does happen when other times too i thought it was cpu problems HDD problems but looking on task manager it seems all too be fine
on another note I am also experiencing an issue with the server crashing and i have too reload NPVR server program this has been since the upgrade to V5 im not that worried about that atm but i would like too fix the major issue i am having it drives me crazy and makes watching TV impossible
Details on setup
Server OS: Windows server 2019
Tuner: Haunpeggue Quad HD Tuner
NPVR Version: 5.0.2.200322
I noticed that in v.5 for some reason the NPVR Tray icon doesn't show as running in the Hidden Icon Menu on the Task bar.
NPVR Tray was in my Start Folder in the Start Menu but it wasn't working.
The only way to get NPVR Tray to show up was by manually clicking on NPVRTRAY.exe.
So I decided to schedule a Task to make it run automatically at log on. Made no difference.
Yet when I stopped the task from running that started at Log on and ran it again. The NPVR Tray icon appeared.
So I realized what was happening.
NPVR.exe., which starts up before NextPVR Service (which has a Automatic Delay) starts is the reason why.
So I altered the Task Schedule to have NPVR Tray task to delay 15 minutes before starting thus given a chance for NextPVR Services to start first before the NPVR Tray task runs.
Next time I restart my computer I will check to see if the NPVR Tray icon appear 15 minutes after booting up into Windows.
I have been running Widows 7 64 bit OS, using Windows Media Center. Well the EPG data stopped and so I wanted to try NextPvr. I installed v4 and it sees the Homerun quattro I have EPG data but could not get it to display video. So I tried installed v5. It hangs on "installing files"
I think there may be a DLL out-of-sync in the current release...
When using the Archive function in the desktop app, I get a NotImplemented exception popup once I select the destination and press Enter. Nothing shows in the logs.

I switched over to using V5 last weekend and the only major problem was the XML EPG file was not where the software expected it so ended up with no EPG a week later!
One of my satellite channels has disappeared and has moved to a different transponder. I select the tuner then select Scan Channels, on the left I select Manual Scan and below I select the satellite location all as in V4 but no list of transponder to select from. Is there some special key combination to make it appear as there seems to be with a few functions?
After re-imaging my NPVR pc, I decided to make the move to v5. All went perfectly, clean install, up and running in no time. As part of getting setup again, I took a run thru my scripts and updated. As I've seen a few questions around how to incorporate custom scripts into NPVR, I've created a template for the scripts and attached to this thread.
There is a README.txt in the file explaining how to install and use the scripts. They provide a logging mechanism to identify when each script is called with their parameters, and place the output in a common log file. You can easily customize and provide your own functionality (i.e. to call comskip to remove commercials).
I'll add them to the wiki (sub, I'll PM you my Github info) once I think they are solid... Looking for any bugs or general enhancement feedback...
Also please verify, i notice a couple of scripts (PostStartup.bat and WakeUp.bat) were not reflected on the wiki page... Are they still valid?

I am trying to setup NextPVR (v5.0.2.200322) for UDP streams that are being provided by my TV provider. I got it working with NextPVR v4, but I had to remove the @ character that comes after udp:// to make it work (so udp:// instead of udp://@), which is needed to view the stream in (for example) VLC.
After I got it working in v4, I decided to install v5 and see if I could get it working. I couldn't find a place to add a UDP stream (only m3u), so I copied over the npvr.db3 from v4 to v5. When I try watching a channel, the picture is just black and there is no audio. The temp file NextPVR creates to Public\Videos is empty and any recordings are empty as well.
The main error from the logs (also attached) seems to be 'Have received 0 bytes from udp source', but I can confirm that the UDP stream is 100% working. I also tried adding a channel with udp://@ in front of the address (like with VLC), but to no avail.
I haven't found any information about NextPVR (v5) and UDP streams, so I don't know if it's actually supported.
