  Stats for nerds
Posted by: arrbee99 - 2020-04-15, 04:08 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (2)

Just wondering, while I remember, does the web app (and indeed the desktop app) have any kind of stats for nerds thing, so you click something while its playing and it tells you resolution and a few other bits I can't think of for now ?

Quote:Added more options in the search screen, including the ability to create a advanced recording from the search criteria
Updated formatting of DVB genre strings
Added genre coloring in TV guide.
Added support for extracting a couple more formats of season/episode number from show descriptions (for guides that don't explicitly supply season/episode separately)
Added support for multi-cast udp IPTV streams
Reduced the size of the mouse hotspot that would cause the channel selector to show in web app live tv. Now need to move the mouse to the top right, rather than just the right side.
Schedules Direct lineup list now includes the lineup readable-name.
Slight wording changes to some items in the web app to make usage clearer
Added messages to let user know when EPG has been emptied. (previously looked like nothing happened)
Removed a limitation on showing icons in Kodi if there was less than 700 hundred channels available (I still recommend you delete channels you wont be using, to give you the best performance)
Added Freesat EPG option
Advanced m3u8 streams with multiple separate audio/video streams that are intended to be mixed and matched to combine are now working. These streams are fairly rare, but now work.
Fixed issue where streaming to kodi would fail if the channel had an ampersand in its name.
Protected against an error that could occur in the Windows power management code.
Fixed issue with showing significance indicator ('prem', 'fin' etc) on scheduled shows in tv guide.
Now storing the last epg update time, to simplify things for kodi.
Changes to artwork API to help support kodi plugin
Improvements to auto login in the web app
Changed the cursor shown over a few elements in the web UI.
Changes to the way the Mac version was published, to avoid notarization requirements of Catalina. Now requires you to have installed the .NET Core runtime from https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/do...-installer
Fixed issue with old Unmanaged.dll being installed.
Fixed issue with NZ IPTV streams
Fixed issue where DVBC-only devices were not being detected on Linux.
Fixed missing runtime for SlimDX
Fixed issue with Windows installer pointing at the wrong uninstaller executable, so not uninstalling correctly
Fixed issues with Archive function
Fixed a couple of IPTV related issues
Fixed issue with year included in file name for recordings from Schedules Direct listings
Fixed issue where recordings started with Ctrl-K in live tv would end up with a subset of the metadata.
Fixed bug that would cause characters like ampersand and quote to be dropped from channel names when scanning dvb/atsc devices on windows.
Fixed a bug that could cause NextPVRServer to crash when stopping a device
Fixed bug where filename could end up with season/episode number twice
Fixed issue with transcoder bitrate changes sometimes not being written to the config file.
Fixed issue which was causing EXTRA devices to unnecessarily transcode in situations where it could have been avoided.

  Web app on screen guide
Posted by: arrbee99 - 2020-04-15, 03:42 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (6)

I recently (today) seem to have acquired an onscreen guide down the right hand side of the screen (using Firefox). It looks pretty handy, but it can be quite reluctant to disappear - it hangs around much longer that the info / control stuff at the bottom.

Also, when I was watching something and exited (also Firefox) it went back to the beginning of the guide. It would be nice if possible if it could go back to the bit of the guide I was at previously.

  Streaming Failed (transcoder exited)
Posted by: nclou - 2020-04-15, 01:30 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (7)

Hi-

New user trying to set NextPVR on my Windows 10 laptop and getting stuck. I'm trying to set it up with my IPTV service. I do have an HDHR tuner, and I can set it up with that and it works, but I can't get it to work with my IPTV service, even though I understand others have.

My IPTV service changes stream addresses frequently so I run a proxy server on my network that keeps them updated to a standard playlist. This works perfectly with all my other services, like channel apps on Apple TV and Android.  I just point it to the playlist address and the EPG address, and it works.

When I load it in the IPTV device on NextPVR, it loads the channels perfectly, and populates the EPG perfectly. But when I play something (or record something) I get the error.

I've tried it with windows defender active and disabled.  I've tried it with v4 and v5, with full uninstalls between trials.  I've tried it on the web interface and the client.  I've tried all the different options as to transcode or not.  And I've tried both LAV and the Microsoft DVD-DTV decoders.

My IPTV proxy allows me to choose various stream types.  I normally leave it as hls, but I've tried each option.  The only format that will play is mpegts, but that pauses every few seconds, which is a behavior I don't see any of the other ways I watch streams. That tells me that it is possible to make a connection, but it's not watchable. Every other option fails.

I see other people have had this issue, but I can't find any answers that put me on the correct path.  I've attached the log file, do you have any pointers in the right direction to get this going?

Thanks!

  Cant watch in-progress recordings in Kodi
Posted by: Red5ive - 2020-04-14, 07:17 PM - Forum: Other Clients - Replies (1)

Hi there

Using V5 of NextPVR as the DVR, emby as my media server and Kodi as my main client.

Have been using the setup fine for a couple of months now recordings, live tv all working fine but the last problem I have is that I cant watch an in-progress recording in Kodi.
Using emby or the web client is fine but I get nothing in kodi, just the progress wheel for a while before it gives up.

Any ideas on what I should check or is this a known issue?

  TV Guide missing show names
Posted by: Graham - 2020-04-14, 11:15 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (12)

Shows that begin before the current time do not display a name in the TV Guide.

In the below ... Channel 14 is missing its show name at 12.00 because the show began at 11.00.

This might be by design because I can scroll left to see the show name.

  prevent recording on multi channels
Posted by: obelix - 2020-04-14, 09:16 AM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (26)

Hi

some nights ago I switched from ArgusTV to NextPVR.
As far as I can see, everything works fine.
BUT: I have 1 obvious problem. If an episode (or a movie) is on multiple channels in parallel (in Germany/Austria/Switzerland we have the same provider) it will be recorded 3 times.
How can use only the channels in a special channel group?
My recordings are of type "advanced" with "any channel" but opening the combobox shows only my channels. But recording is really on _any_ channel

I hope someone understands what I mean and has a solution...

thanks in advance!

  EPG Parsing Issue
Posted by: Tunes0710 - 2020-04-14, 07:11 AM - Forum: Windows - Replies (22)

Hi all,
I had an issue recently that when NextPVR imported the EPG created by EPG Collector, that it wouldn't always show the full title, and would have part of the title in the subtitle.
This wasn't a NextPVR issue per-say, as it was happening at the EPG Collector stage (being split between Title/Sub-title).
I opened a query for it on the EPG Collector site (https://sourceforge.net/p/epgcollector/d...21f89ccf2/) and the author found the problem and issued a fix (something about it ending with a ; instead of an .)

I recently set up IPTV and have noticed the same behaviour. I'd never noticed it in the past, so perhaps it a global change in the way EPGs are formatted? But in any case, it can cause issues with NextPVR not correctly matching a scheduled recording, as it doesn't properly match on the name
[Image: griUVgs.png]

This is how it displays in the IPTV EPG xml
<programme start="20200414170000 -0400" stop="20200414180000 -0400" channel="Challenge" ><title>Classic Who Wants To Be A...</title><desc>...Millionaire. A classic episode of the award-winning quiz show presented by Chris Tarrant in which contestants can win up to one million pounds.</desc></programme>

I did a search in the xml for "...</title><desc>..." and it also shows
<programme start="20200413160000 -0400" stop="20200413170000 -0400" channel="ITVBe" ><title>New: The Real Housewives of...</title><desc>...Orange County. Best Frenemies Forever: Gossip puts Braunwyn in Kelly&apos;s cross-hairs. Braunwyn defends herself and reveals who talked about Kelly. S14 Ep14.</desc></programme>
and
<programme start="20200413170000 -0400" stop="20200413180000 -0400" channel="ITVBe" ><title>Totally Unbelievable: Celebrity...</title><desc>...Feuds. From A-List bust ups to reality TV ag, this Totally Unbelievable episode counts down the greatest celebrity feuds. S1 Ep1.</desc></programme>
etc

Whereas with the data through EPG Collector, it shows as
<programme start="20200418135500 +0100" stop="20200418145500 +0100" channel="15856">
<title>The Real Housewives of Orange County</title>
<sub-title>Best Frenemies Forever</sub-title>
<desc>Gossip puts Braunwyn in Kelly's cross-hairs. Braunwyn defends herself and reveals who talked about Kelly. [S] S14 Ep14</desc>
<category>Show</category>
<audio>
<stereo>stereo</stereo>
</audio>
</programme>

and
<programme start="20200416210000 +0100" stop="20200416220000 +0100" channel="15856">
<title>Totally Unbelievable: Celebrity Feuds</title>
<desc>From A-List bust ups to reality TV ag, this Totally Unbelievable episode counts down the greatest celebrity feuds. [S] S1 Ep1</desc>
<category>Show</category>
<audio>
<stereo>stereo</stereo>
</audio>
</programme>

Also with iptv imported EPG instead of it showing Season/Episode it shows as Season\/Episode
[Image: bA3Yr9Z.png]
Is there any way of implementing the same changes that EPG Collector did to display the full program names?
As a last resort, I guess I could script a download of the IPTV EPG, run it through EPG Collector to sanitise it and then import from a local file, but if there is anyway it could be implemented direct, that would be awesome :-)

Cheers.

  Missing Feature M3U server
Posted by: techpro2004 - 2020-04-13, 11:17 PM - Forum: NextPVR Support - Replies (25)

Long time user, first time poster.

In V4 when i went to http://ip_addr:8866/channels I would receive an .m3u file containing links to all of my channels. This feature seams to be absent in V5. I am voting to bring it back.

Thanks.
