Okay this might be a dumb question..probably is. I want to feed something into the composite input on my pvr-500 and show up as a channel - that being my PS2. I rarely ever reboot the computer and would like to not have to change sources on my tv because I am lazy. Is there a way to map either of the inputs to a channel or is there a channel I can tune to that gets me to either of the inputs?
As I understand it gbpvr will only allow cycling through the different aspect ratios if configured to use VMR9.
Why is this ?
If I playback a gbpvr recorded mpeg using any other player - ie windows media, powerdvd, windvd etc they all allow for 16:9 playback.
Hauppauge WinTV allows 16:9
ProgDVB handles 16:9
I tried setting to use VMR9 and the playback quality was abysmal - a lot of blocky artefact. Even with VMR7. The overlay setting is the only one that gives me decent quality.
Any ideas ?
I really like GBPVR btw, but the aspect ratio is driving me nuts !
how those who don't use a MVP hook up to their tv. I tried going from my video card s-video out to the tv and the picture is dog do-do. The computer desktop is almost unreadable. I have ATI Radeon 9800 Pro and a 32" Sony (regular tv). Any thoughts and/or suggestions? TIA
I am having a problem with the weather plugin. It was working before. Now when I click on weather it says "Downloading Weather Forecast - Please wait while downloading weather forecast from msnbc.com, this may take a while depending on your internet connection" I wait and nothing happens. Please can somebody help. I have tried different area code, still the same.
First off, great piece of software. Thank you. I've been stuck in bed with a bad back most of this last week and GB-PVR, in conjunction with my Hauppauge Nova-T USB2, has been a godsend!
I've noticed that in the rare occasions when you have a blank line at the top and the bottom of the guide (i.e. there are channels there, but they're not broadcasting at the time and therefore no programs listed) the guide won't scroll vertically with either the remote or mouse/keyboard. (Although the focus obviously does because the epg info at the bottom of the screen changes.) If you press the Channel up/down button on the remote or pg-up/pg-dn keys to scroll a screenful it works fine.

I'm working with my WYSIWYG designer for SkinTools, and came up with something that I think may help both people who work with the XML files manually and my application.
Right now, there is no logical connection in between a composite image and a special element. For example, I can't tell just from looking at the skin.xml file in Main Menu, that this composite image:
So right now, I have to set up relationships in my code, then tell my code not to display the composite images that are related to a special element, as the element should determine how they are drawn.
I think that this can all be solved with something the following syntax:
Basically it's the same way you handle TextStyles. Adding this shouldn't break existing skins, and will also make it easier for anyone manually editing a skin's XML file to clearly see the realtionships without having to run GBPVR.
Obviously, you know the big picture, and why this may not be a good idea. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this.
I'm using the post-processing to XVID built into the latest version of GBPVR - it works well IMHO. My question - does anyone know how to change the encoding into two passes? I found a line alluding to xvid encoding in the config.xml file but wasn't sure how to change it and not screw things up.
