Hi again, sorry for the flurry of posts (can you tell it's my first day?)
I'm getting a lot of pops/crackles/hisses during any kind of audio playback... What should I be looking for? I'm using onboard audio (Nvidia A7N8X motherboard).
This occurs during LiveTv, and Radio..i haven't tested any video playback yet..
I am having troubles with my Channel changing on the external cable box and would like to be able to log exactly what GBPVR is doing in this area so that I can determine whether there is a problem with GBPVR or my external channel changer.
Also is there anyway to ensure that channel change is always sent by GBPVR regardless of the last channel it was on.
For example. Goto live TV and goto Channel 22. Goto Guide and select channel 22. Exit TV and then Go Back to LiveTV Channel 22.
Can GBPVR be set up to explicitly change the channel each time - not just remember what the last tuned channel was? If so - how would I do this.
I think it would be nice while viewing the tv guide to be able to enter a channel and have the guide automatically scroll to that channel.
ie, if I have channels 2 through 11 on the screen and enter 62 on the remote, the guide would scroll to have channel 62 highlighted. I know most cable boxes with guides built in work that way
I have been looking for a program to replace Media Center 2005 and through the C-Net forums ran across this site. This program has features I really wanna try like being able to record TV into PSP format.
One question I have is does it support a TV Tuner card with multiple inputs like S-Video and coaxial, where I can freely switch between both quickly and relatively easily? I have not found a way in MCE and heard there is no way to with going through the setup each time you wanna change.
Another question I have is more of a support question. Everytime I click on LiveTV a fuzzy picture comes up for a split second and then goes blank and all I get is the sound. Does anybody know what this could be?
This is the setup I have that works fine with MCE, but not with GBPVR:
Gateway Media Center PC with Pentium D 2.8Ghz, 1GB of RAM, ATI Raedon X800XL Video Card, and ATI TV WONDER Elite TV Tuner.

I just recently (today) received my pvr-500 to replace my old ati all in wonder radeon 7500.
My current setup is as follows: Geforce 5900 MX, PVR-500, XP-2500+, 1gig of ram. Windows XP Sp2
I've gotten GB-PVR to work, however I find that I'm getting jerky movement on LiveTv when people move around a lot, and sometimes the sound will crackle.
playing dvds, and the sound is incredly low. I read some time ago about going into windows media player and change the default dvd. it helped but sound is still incredebly low. it only happens on this one pc. would different dvd playback decoders help? right now the dvd playing software is cyberlink
Can anybody help get the "Record Season (all in in this weekly timeslot, this channel)" working? Currently when I select this option, GBPVR will record multiple episodes of a show if they are on before or after the selected time slot. This is creating several conflicts. Is there anything i can do to fix this?
I've just got myself a red eye serial cable. The demo program works but I can't get the command line tool for changing chanels to work... it keeps telling me "error opening com1" - I've tried this on two separate machines using both variants of the tool and both times I get the same.
I've tried changing the com port number to 5 and still the same. My com port settings are 9600 baud, 8 data bits, parity none, stop bits 1, flow control none.
FIFO buffers ticked and both receive and transmit to high. No conflicts either.
