I don't know how much of a problem this is with people not using the MVP, but using FF/RW is a dicey affair because of the delay in getting commands to the PC. Often time I'll over shoot by several second. What I'd like to see is a variation of what Tivo does, and instead of having GBPVR jump back or forward a fixed amount of time to try and eliminate the overshoot cause by that delay, let each user define what the skip makeup time will be, if that makes sense. I imagine it'll be different for different speed pcs/networks.

And having tapping the FF/RW buttons cycle through 3 different FF/RW speeds would be great as well, IMO.

This may be a small thing, but I'd like to see a pop up whenever a recording's reached its end. I see it looking just like the pop up you get in video archiver when you click on an episode, with a simple message banner saying something along the lines of playback of this recording is completed, but your buttons would be

Play Prev
Play Next
Archive
Delete
Exit

Archive will archive the recording and return you to the menu, delete will delete the recording and return you to you to the menu. Exit would take you back to the recordings menu with no action. Highlighting the Play Prev/Next buttons would bring up the episode descriptions of the prev/next eps in that show folder. Clicking on one of them would begin playback of the next/prev recording, but only after asking you if you want to delete or archive the current recording or do neither.

I'd also like to be able to pull up this menu during playback, so if I'm watching something and it turns out to be a duplicate or just sucks, I could hit next/prev recording, delete the current recording and move on.

I've never really like that playback just dies at the end of a recording. I just think it would add a more polished look to playback.

I am a total noob to the whole PVR/Freevo and would really appreciate it if someone out there could help me with what hardware and setup they would recommend to someone starting out fresh. there are so many options and combo's, it's hard to nail down what the best option is for me. I will try and give you some details to help you in answering my question.

*I am leaning toward the PVR-350, I like the S-video out, but heard it can only handle MPEG-2 datastreams and nothing else (ie windows menu, EPG software etc).... is this true? If so, are there solutions or workarounds with gbpvr or would a PVR-250/150 +MediaMVP be a better alternative? What are the real advantages and disadvantages to each card in the Hauppage line

*if possible, it would be nice to have the PC in another room. Is this still viable if I decide on the PVR-350 (ie. is remote IR or RF)? Also I have the necessary hardware to go wireless (g router and bridge), but is 802.11g fast enough, and reliable?
*should I be considering other cards outside the Hauppage line (eg Plextor, or ATI)
*Currently I don't see a need to get multiple tuners, but can be convinced otherwise if someone can give me a good reason to go that direction

Any input you have would be of tremendous help, I'm itching to start my winter project.

I have looked all over the xrecord xml and have been able to change everything but what's circled in yellow.

title is circled because I just want to take that off. It doesn't do anything.
the other ones are cirlced because I can't figure out how to move them over.

Can anyone help me on this?

I don't usually use WMP to view my tv captures but for some crazy reason, I decided to update from WMP9 to 10. All seems well with the exception that my mpegs from my PVR500 using GBPVR come out with horizontal lines. It plays other files fine and these tv files play fine in other players. What causes this?

It seems when I have a program which starts at 15 or 45 minutes past the hour, I miss the beginning of the program. When a program starts on the hour or 30 minutes past the hour it works great. Do I have something configured wrong?

Hi, I would like to add I want to start a similar setup. Where I want to control my viewsat FTA satellite receiver with GBPVR using USB-IRT. I purchase the pvr150 but the remote would not setup to control my viewsat receiver (unless i'm doing something wrong).
Thats why I may have to with the USB UIRT.

Couple questions, does the usbuirt use my current viewsat remote to control the gbpvr and the receiver? OR do I have to purchase a new remote?

- pictures slideshow using the Ken Burns effect/transition

Having seen the feature on XBMC and MP - I must admit that its a really nice way of viewing your photos on your media centre.
