I have finally come up against something I can't resolve.

I was using a Freecom DVB USB stick as my only tuner and it works fine. This morning I added a Nova-T PCI and that works fine.

What I initially did was to just set the Freecom as device 2 instead of device 1 and set the Nova-T as device 1. First time I tried this, I tried recording two things at once and both said sleeping so not good.

So I removed the config of both and then set up the Hauppauge as device 1 and got that up and running. Then when I added the Freecom as device 2, when I come to map channels I get a dialog box:-

"GB-PVR was unable to start the BDA device you have configured. Check the device is configured properly and not already in use. (Reason: Failed to locate configured BDA capture device)"

When I ok that, I then get a Visual C++ Debug Library box.

Can anyone point me in the right direction with the twin tuners thing please?

Hi, does anyone know how the visualisations are rendered when playing music and visualisation is fullscreen? Are they hardware rendered as a nice WMP10 one I use in media player is soooooooo slooooooow when using music player. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Hi, seeing as we're on a roll with DVB-T broadcasts in the UK right now I have another question! Anyone know why I can't get a channel freq to appear next to BBC 3 and BBC 4? I think it may be something to do with the fact they share freq with CBBC and CBeebies? But if that's the case then why are other channels showing as having no freq? E4 being one of them although E4+1 does! If I select the channels to include them when I go back to look at the epg map they are unselected again! Sorry to waffle on! :o

Any ideas on what port number to use that would work through most corporate firewalls ? I don't want to use port 80 and 7647 seems to be blocked.

Something which I can't find the answer to, when I scan I find channels without problem but many of them have (1) after them so I end up with:-

BBC ONE
BBC ONE(1)

I have chosen the first one in channel mappings but what's the significance of the second one as that seems to work too?

Just to inform those having problem in setting up channel source and using tuning assistant (Analog receivers) in Italy:
Setting provided with GBPVR are wrong use settings provided for Germany instead.
In fact while italian settings check only up to the channel 10 german ones cover the entire 69 channel spectrum.

Hi.

I've been using VideoArchive as more or less my only interface for retrieving recordings, and it has been working brilliantly until recently.

I have a subdirectory in my main recording folder where I move all the kids shows recordings to. It has appeared flawlessly in the recordings overview, but not so long ago it is no longer appearing in the main overview, but interestingly enough it appears in the "New Recodings" overview, from where I have access to all the subfolders with all the shows regardless of recording date.

I suspect it may be a volume problem of some sort. The folder contains 262GB recordings put in 68 subfolders containing approx. 550 shows. In total VA 'sees' 3 disks containing:
D: 611 mpg-files / 352GB
C: 341 mpg-files / 315GB
F: 36 mpg-files / 38GB

I've tried to take the archive disks C: and F: out of the VA-config but to no avail.

Any hints to what I could try?

I'm currently using the workaround of accessing the shows through the New Recordings folder, but if that for some reason fails I'll have an immediate family crisis ...

I'm running XP SP2 fully updated and latest versions of GBPVR and VA.

I'd like to first thank the developers of this fine program. It's great so far. Everything seems to work, but the TV Guide. It does not show any shows. I can type in a name of the show in the Search Guide, but when I click on TV Guide, it just shows the channels on the left and time on the top:





Any help would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks in advance.

Here is an interesting dilemma which might need a feature change in gbpvr

I have both digital and analogue cable from the same company. There are some channels on digital not on analogue but analogue quality is much better for some reason. Most channels are scrambled so I need the STB to view them. This is what I want to do but am not sure if I can

1. Do most of my recording from the analogue STB box using the composite video outputs from the box into the composite video inputs of the PVR250 and USB-UIRT changing the box when I need to.

2. When I want to record a digital channel, do that by recording the RF output from the digital STB, with the PVR250 tuning into the frequency that the digital STB sends the unscrambled channel out

I can do 1. fine - in fact this is what I do all the time now.

I had some problems getting gbpvr to tune into the channel the digital STB outputs. Even though I could create a channel number with frequency in the registry that WinTV2K could use. when I used that channel number in gbpvr all I get is interference. But when I code the exact frequency into the epg for the RF source, I can view the channel fine.

So far so good.

This is the dilemma. When a certain programme is broadcast available only on digital, what I need to do is tell gbpvr to tune into the channel as described in 2. and also change the STB to the right channel. I can't see any way of doing that since gbpvr presumably uses the channel number as the data to send to via the USB-UIRT to the STB and in this case the channel number is a frequency. So it could be a feature request. Add another field in the epg to use as the actual channel number to send out, in addition to the frequency field?

Now if I could get gbpvr to accept the channel number (which is matched to a frequency in the registry) then I could possibly edit the registry and add the channel numbers I need from the digital cable box, all mapping to the same frequency. So gbpvr at the appointed time would presumably switch the pvr250 to the right channel (which in my case would always be the same frequency) and also send the remote codes to the STB

Any other possibilities?
