I've installed the new g-guide skin. First opinion is that it looks good and it's really fast on my MediaMVP! However theres a problem in my main-menu. Pressing the "back/exit" button makes the MediaMVP reset. Is it possible to repair this "feature"?

I have been using GBPVR for over 6 months now and find it great! Thanks to everyone for making this possible! I have been a previous user of Showshifter and DigiTV and GBPVR beats these hands down.

I have just built a new machine and have a problem with the video/music library. The system is on a dedicated PC with XP SP2. Hardware is Pentium M with 1Gb, 2x250Gb SATA, 2 x Nova-T USB2 and 1 x PVR350. I also use 3 MVP (2 active atm). Everything works brilliantly and the performance is excellent.

I have mapped drives on a network server that I use for MP3 and Video storage and these have been added as directories in config. When accessed from GBPVR application on the PVR PC they display fine and I can access all MP3 and video content and it all plays perfectly. However when I access it from an MVP the directories appear but have no files listed. The same happens if I access it from the web interface. When I access recordings from MVP or Web they display fine and I can play recordings. The recordings also stream well when I associate with VLC.

I had hoped to be able to access the video and music library from GBPVR as I want to use GBPVR as the core of my AV setup. I have tried numerous things and have made sure the share permissions are set as public, checked logs, tried UNC paths and mapped drives and I can't see the reasons.

Before I setup the new PC I had been using a previous PC running 9511. All of this function worked fine in that version. Before installing on the new PC I upgraded first to 9514 then to 9516 and both upgrades demonstrated the problem. I figured this may be down to the upgrade install but the clean install didn't solve the issue.

I am not quite sure why this would be happening. Before I start an exhaustive search I was wondering if anyone else had seen this or if any "inside information" may provide an insight or pointer to what the problem may be.

What is the difference between DVB-S and DVB-T. I read previously that DVB-S is satellite and DVB-T is terrestrial - but what does this mean?

I don't know whether to get the Hauppauge NOVA-T or NOVA-S as I do not understand the difference at the moment

I am based in the UK and I currently have a subscription to Sky Digital

I am looking for a TV card that will receive freeview or work best with my Sky box to enable me to capture shows to my PC

( I was also planning to buy a WinTV PVR 150 or 500MCE, along with one of the above NOVA cards )

Just did a format/reinstall of XP and installed the most recent release of GB-PVR (GBPVR09516) and found that it takes up to two minutes for the config application to close once I click OK.

I think this is abnormal behaviour as it never did this before.

I have disabled Windows Firewall and am not running any other firewalls on this computer but still cannot keep gbpvrrecordingservice.exe running. Usually it stops immediately but sometimes it waits until the card (Hauppauge PVR150) begins trying to record a show before throwing me an error message and shutting down.

Click CANCEL to debug the application.

I have to admit I didn't see when it disappeared but I notice the option to use the Hauppauge mpeg2 mux has been removed. I've installed the v2.4 drivers for my Nova-t cards and thought I'd try it out to see if it worked with this version - then I noticed it was gone.

I know you were waiting for them to change things to allow third-party app usage. Have they decided to keep things to themselves?

In GB-PVR Configuration - Tab Playback under "Hardware decoder device" should there be an option to adjust the Theater 550 PRO 2D/3d Comb Filter? When do you expect this option to be available? Thanks sub!

I use PQ DVD to convert my movies to MPEG4. Anyone know of a free utility to convert them to MPEG2? The Media MVP doesn't support MPEG4, thus I would like to get them to MPEG2.

Just installed GBPVR on a fresh install of Windows XP SP1 with DirectX 9 and WinDVD. The motherboard is an Epia M10000 with 512M RAM. The capture device is a Plextor PX-M402U.

I think I have it working, not sure since I'm testing at work with a broken video camera connected to the Plextor (Long story). I've got the guide working (Zap2It). I've set up a dummy watch channel since I don't have a tuner in my Plextor, plus I'll be connected to my DirecTV dish via A/V cables so can't use the tuner anyway.

I have tried a few test recordings through the camera of non-sensical video but my recording sizes have all be zero K in length.

I tried searching the forums but don't know enough terminology yet to find the problem. Any help would be appreciated.

im trying to figure out how to minimize the number of times my PVR box goes online. it'll be on a modem so i dont want it trying to pick the line up to download movie nfo if my aunts chattering away to her mum on the phone!

Ideally id like it all to be done overnight, but is there a way to get GBPVR/the various plugins to delay all their online querys till a set time or event?

will scheduling GBPVR to close and restart (so the plugins refresh) while still online after the EPG update be the closest i could get to this, or does anyone know of a utility that i can run from a batch file/scheduled task, to look in the varous folders and download relevant info for the filenames it finds?
