I have a pvr-150 card with the 4x button remote. I can turn the volume down but not up. This forces me to delete the LastVolume key from the reg each time I use the volume. Any ideas how to fix this?

You can access a couple of extra features by adding the following registry value.

open regedit and navigate to this key

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Filters\Video]

then add a dword value named PureVideoPropPage and set it to 1


This adds a new tab to the settings for the decoder giving these options.

Edge Enhancement slider
Noise Reduction slider
and an overdrive check box (no clue what that does)

I find that moderate edge enhancement helps counteract the slight softness of my T550P. It also seems to be doing this in hardware with my Nvidia 6800. So I guess all Purevideo capable Nvidia hardware would do the same.

The noise reduction seems to me to be pretty poor, looks more like motion blur to me, but I guess it some type of temporal filter.

Add a dword value EnablePropPage and set it to 1 and you'll get some more options.

As always if you're not familiar with editing your registry it's probably safer not to do it.

The registry location above is from a win xp system and it may be different for other Windows versions.

It seems that Hauppauge listened to feedback and they released a new PVR-150MCE (i.e. without the remote or the blaster) without the FM tuner.

I just bought one for only $57 shipped. This is a great deal considering the cheapest PVR-150MCE I found was over $70. I already have a Cyberlink USB remote and use the built-in tuner.

i'm using GBpvr for several months now and it works really good. But there's some things that might need fixing. Especially that the recorder will overwrite a recorded file if the service is restarted while a recording is running, meaning as soon as the service restarts it will create a file with the same name as it created before the restart and this will delete the already recorded part of the show. I think that fixing this is rather simple. Just check for existing files and add a suffix like "_1" to the file name if it already exists.

It would also be nice if the service needn't be restarted for changes to take effect, but i'm shure this has been mentioned before.

I got my GBPVR box working last night. I still have a performance problem on playback of recordings, but my biggest problem is lack of sound.

I'm using an M10000 motherboard with 512M RAM, Windows XP SP1, Plextor PX-M402U via USB2, Intervideo WinDVD Creator 2.

My playback settings are:
Video Decoder - InterVideo Video Decoder
Audio Decoder - InterVideo Audio Decoder
Audio Renderer - Vinyl AC'97 Audio (WAVE)

I managed to truncate a recording last night accidentally and if I've understood how things are supposed to work, I reckon its down to a bug rather than me doing something stupid.

I have one Nova-T USB2 tuner, and it was recording a movie on BBC1. About 15 minutes before the end of the recording I went in (via the TV Guide) to view the channel, but instead of seeing the live stream it showed me the start of the recording so I quickly exited. When the movie finished, the recording appeared to be truncated from around the time I tried to view the channel and I lost the end

Anyone come across this before?

Hi, is there a way to record something without using the TV guide. I have a channel that does not contain any data, it's a dummy guide with one selection for the whole 24 hours. If I know the time and the channel, is there a way to record a program similar to those ancient VCR machines, to just set the time and channel to record a program.

I Have 2 Nova-T DVB tuner Cards and I am using the EPG that is transmitted by the channels After setting the harvest duration to 300 secs and disabled complete reload it works quite well but i would like to reorder the channels so I have BBC1, BBC2, ITV1 ..... etc. Also is there a way to make the font smaller in the guide as the name of some of the shows or TV channels don't fit.

I have a Hauppauge Nova-T installed and a Twinhan DVB-T on its way, but my mind turned to the unused 80CM dish on my wall.

Now I have seen the DiSeqC 1.2 dish motors at about £40, a new LNB about £10. So trying to stick to a budget, which would be the best DVB-S card to buy? I was looking at a Technisat SKYSTAR 1 CI, but not sure if this will work with GB-PVR.

I have recently built a new PVR to replace my old machine, however I have run into two problems.

#1 Channel 5, and it's only Five that this happens to, is very choppy in playback, its as if you were playing back a compressed movie on a 400Mhz computer.

#2 Perhaps the more annoying issue, when hopping channels if I launch live tv then go into either the mini EPG or the full EPG and change channel I have no sound until I flick up and then back down a channel.

The spec of my new PVR is:

AMD 64 3000 (running at 2.4Ghz)
Asus A8V-Deluxe (via chipset if that makes a difference)
512mb RAM (not great but it should be fine)
2x 160gb Seagate Barrcudas (7200rpm, 8mb cache)
Leadtek PVR2000 (edited in as I forgot to add it)
