I had a peek under the bonnet today and looked in gbpvr.mdb - I noticed that the correct LCNs are stored for each DVB-T channel! How's about an option to automatically use these numbers for each channel? I would like my channels to appear in the EPG in LCN order, it's a bit annoying to have to randomly create a new number for each new channel and not have it in order.
Another suggestion would be an option to easily create a custom channel ordering for EPG, perhaps a drag and drop interface (like you have for the ordering of plugins on the main menu).
Also, in the Channels tab on the config app, I have loads of old channels listed, some of which are defunct, some of which I can no longer receive because I've moved out of area, some of which I've mapped previously but no longer wish to store. How do I rid myself of all these unused channels?
Similarly when I go to the edit recording source screen for one of my DVB-T tuners, and click "Map digital channels to EPG channels", I click the Enabled checkbox for each channel I wish to store. However, in the "Channels" list on the edit recording source screen, I have a list of channels that I did not enable (but had previously enabled). I remove each one in turn, but they come back later! I guess it's no majorly bad thing, but it just makes everything rather cluttered. Bizarre problem I guess, I've explained it as best I can.
I have seen an awful lot of posts about this remote, so I just want to check the facts before I go much further.
Firstly, some of the functions work "straight out of the box" but not all (Up, Down, Left, Right) after I downloaded and installed the eHome driver (referenced in another thread, in http://forums.dvbowners.com/index.php?sh...2&hl=gbpvr ).
So, am I right in thinking that I need to download HiP and map the button presses to keyboard equivalents? Or should I map them to SendMessage commands? I am not really fussed at the moment about using an external device, so I am after a simple setup (with Teletext...)
When I try and pause live tv, gb-pvr just hangs with "Starting Timeshift recording - please wait".
No disk activity.
Windows shows GB-PVR as not responding.
When there is a failure in postprocessing and the mpg file gets renamed, the .cpf file for Cuttermeran is no longer valid because of the necessary hard coded file references. I have written a batch file which will update the references for the current location and name of the .mpg file.
The code is not as elegant as many of the authors on the forum, but it does work very reliably in my set-up (which is reasonably complex, involving several computers for processing and several network drives, etc.). Right now I run it on every comclean run (except postprocessing) since it takes only a second to run and ensures the .cpf file is correct before Cuttermaran is launched. It is particularly useful in manual runs of Comclean. You can also just drop a file on it before a manual Cuttermaran run.
The batch file does call one FREE program (change.exe) to process the edits. The copyright is owned by the US Dept of Commerce and is freely available for sharing, etc. The reference is contained in the bat file.
I need to know if there is much interest in the batch file before I do the work to clean up the code and make it more easily used in another user's environment. If you think the batch file would have value to you, let me know.
After spending countless hours trying to get my new htpc/gbpvr to work, i made it to the live tv portion, and i get nothing but static picture on every channel. I am extremely new to everything here. I tried everything i could find in the forums to date, but nothing has worked. I am afraid it may be because i have direct tv, being as there are a million channels on direct tv and the tuner card (hauppauge 350) is good for 125.
Even in the hauppauge programs i only get channel 3, yay. I have also noticed that in all the configs and settings for gbpvr and wintv2000 i get the choice of cable and antenna, no satallite. So i guess my question is "can gbpvr work with direct tv satallite?"
I have tried the tuning assistant, and that got nothing only told me there were 158 channels with static...
I am also concerned it could be all of setting, video playback/decoding and such. Like i said i am new to this...
My gpvr.exe process seems to grow in memory size (running the latest version) - this in itself is not a horrible problem, I just need to exit and restart it every now and then.
Its oftern 250-500mb when I notice the box swapping while navigating recorded/pending shows - this after no more then a day of normal use (some browsing of recordings, scheduling, watching several shows - all flawlessly working other then the swapping when it runs out of real ram)
First, I suppose this means there is a memory leak somewhere?
Second, could gbpvr.exe just kill itself and restart in the middle of the night (or at some preset time?) so at least I can clean it up that way without needing to manually restart?
Edit: Nothing of note in the logs - process is idle when it should be idle, box has 1 gig of real ram (thank goodness) and 2 gigs swap.
Geez...I just looked through what's been recorded so far, and 5 of the 6 shows I set it to record, I got the wrong thing. Just checked and it appears that for some reason, I'm getting the wrong channel. What should I be looking for here?
Several of the things I've set it to record lately, it recorded the wrong thing. (More than several, actually :-p) However, a couple of those I actually would like to keep, as it recorded another show that looks interesting. How do I change the information to reflect what was actually recorded?
