  OSD on Xcard via VGA
Posted by: dandus - 2005-12-15, 03:27 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Since my PC under my TV runs alot of things for me. It cannot decode DVD smoothly. I am therefore considering buying an Xcard to help a lit in the re-play so I do not have to siwtch applications off before wathcing a DVD.

However, will GBPVR has OSD if I replay using Xcard. I am going to use VGA output from Xcard. From what I have seen, it looks like the OSD are broken in GBPVR when replay DVD using Xcard.

using mplayer for viewing avi files!?
Posted by: pimboli - 2005-12-15, 03:19 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Hi,

finaly I can watch avi files with ffmpeg,
but something isn't optimal, I can't jump into the file (forward etc)
because ffmpeg convert the file from the beginning to the end.

so I had the idea to use mplayer and not ffmpeg,
so if I press the forward key on the remote gbpvr could send the conresponding signal that mplayer makes a forward, and mplayer could stream his output as mpeg..

This is also used on VDR (video disk recorder) with the coresponding mplayer plugin..

What do the experts think?

time shift throws me back to main menu each time?
Posted by: zeltak - 2005-12-15, 02:54 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

hi all

Every day i use GB pvr i love it more and more (although new bugs pop up daily to keep me busy Smile ), great work on this awesome product!. this days issue is that ive started to use the time shift option but i cant use it. each time i press begin time shift (i press rec) a black screen that says begining time shifting appears and after 3 secs it throws me back to the main menu. it happens every time i do it, i am not able to use the time shift option at all. i am using the latest version. would love to hear any ideas on how to fix it if they exist.

thx alot in advance for this great product, without it my htpc would be crap (i have tried All the other pvr they all suck compared to GB PVR)

  Tipstir's website

Tipstir, went to take a look at your website but all the pictures are missing from the nav bars. Underneath "Tipstir Web Pages 2005" there is the message:

Quote:This file is not intended to be viewed directly using a web browser. To create a viewable file, use the Preview in Browser or Publish to Yahoo! Web Hosting commands from within Yahoo! SiteBuilder.

Looks like a problem with yahoo or the way you've built your site. Smile

  Bug in music library?
Posted by: dazzle - 2005-12-15, 11:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,
Just something I noticed, not sure if it's really a bug but I thought I'd mention it.
In the standard music library, I was trying to play the new darkness album named "One way ticket to hell... and back".
Whenever I hit OK on the album name, it would take me back up a level instead of into the track listing....fixed it by removing the "..." in the name.

This is over mvp by the way if it makes any odds, I cant test it on the local installation as the server runs headless.

No biggie really but had me perplexed for a few mins!!!

Cheers

Looking for advice on motherboard upgrade??
Posted by: stu8080 - 2005-12-15, 10:25 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (38)

Im looking to upgrade my current setup to a more capable processor, ive bought an Athlon XP 2500+ and am finding it hard to find out what motherboards would suit me.

It needs to be an nforce2 or greater so i can 'hopefully' get more functionality from my 350 (i still have a little faith left in it!) and mATX form, the more features it has the better, especially LAN and plenty of USB ports and firewire support.

So far these look the best options:

Running the Client on a PC?
Posted by: acech - 2005-12-15, 10:02 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Hi Guys!

I have a low powered PC (PII 266Mhz) and I am trying to find a way to stream video to it with an interface similar to this GB-PVR software. I was wondering if there was a Windows frount end that could be used to connect to the server?

Or any other suggestions?

Many thanks,

Chris

  Keeping STB on right channel?

How do people generally handle the STB? How do you keep yourself and your family from switching channels during the time GBPVR is recording something off it? Rolleyes

PVR150MCE Remote Doesn't Work As Expected
Posted by: mooboy - 2005-12-15, 09:11 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (26)

I have a pvr150mce remote. The buttons do not work like you would expect. The only buttons that work as labeled, are the up, down, left right, ok, volume and channel buttons. The clear button performs "go back" as far as I can tell. None of the other buttons work at all, like play, reverse, forward, etc. So I rely on the remote that came with my pvr350. But that remote doesn't quite right either. The number buttons do not do anything, and the neither do up, down, left, right. The play, forward, skip buttons do work however. I have tried the Fix Happauge remote settings (both 45 and 34 button) but that doesn't fix anything. It would be great if most of the buttons worked as expected. Any ideas?

  PVR350 and PVR150MCE Don't Play Nice Together?
Posted by: mooboy - 2005-12-15, 08:48 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (10)

Hi,

I have a pvr350 and a pvr150 MCE capture cards. I would like to be able record two shows at the same time. However when I have both cards enabled and installed, all I get for output is a black screen. If I disable one of the cards, everything works normal. Is there something I'm missing? Coudl someone help me troubleshoot this issue?
