  Resolution of OSD
Posted by: Heyt - 2005-12-14, 07:05 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

Is it possible that all OSD elements have a hardcoded size of 720x480 and does not use their size from the OSD\skin.xml? Everytime i change the size of an OSD to my standard 1024x576 absolutly nothing happens.
It's the same for liveTV-Guide although i have defined it as 1024x576 only a part of 720x480 is displayed. Which also means the popup, which is used from the TV Guide\skin.xml and not used from the TV Guide\live-skin.xml is not displayed completely because if positioned it in the middle of my 1024x576.

Am i doing something wrong here or is it realy hardcoded?

Which also leads me to the question what really happens to my PAL TV signal if my GBPVR-window is 1024x576. Is it first reduced to 720x480 and then stretched back to 1024x576 (or what the aspect ratio says) or is the PAL signal left at its 720x576 and only streched to fit the window?
Maybe sub you make this clear to me.

  Recordings skin.xml
Posted by: Heyt - 2005-12-14, 06:56 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I've only a short question. Who can tell me what is ment by "ListView" and "DetailsView" in the skin.xml for the original recordings-plugin (v95.16).

For me it seems only the details view is used and i couldn't find a way to switch to list view.

But on the other hand there is a special element for both views in the skin.xml, which must not be deleted, so somehow they must be used. But how to switch between the views?

  No skin change on MVP
Posted by: lucille84 - 2005-12-14, 06:42 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Since upgrade to 95.nn changing to different skins in config has not shown up in MVP screen -- although the skin changes DO show as expected when running GBPVR on my PC.

I have killed all instances of GBPVR, done cold starts, all to no avail.

Any ideas for this newbie?
Is there some caching going on for MVP ??

Thanks for any help you can provide

  Music Issues with .9516
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-12-14, 06:39 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (29)

In config.xml, I have

<UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>false</UseWindowsMediaPlayerForAudio>

But this does not allow me to use visualizations when playing music. If I turn it to "true", then GB-PVR just hangs up. It freezes and I have to reset.

Also, when it's true, I was not able to play Netradio (which during the Christmas season, is great and a must!)

What can I do to: Use Visualizations and play Netradio??

  GBPVR 09516 Problems
Posted by: PVRDon - 2005-12-14, 05:17 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (11)

My setup:
Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 STB
S-video output from STB to Hauppauge PVR-150 card. Use Hauppauge 45 button remote and IR Blaster to change channels on STB.
Home-built Athlon 3000+ system with 1 Gig memory, ASUS A8V Deluxe Mboard, ATI 9800 Pro video card, two 200 Gig ATA-100 Seagate hard drives

What works:
Hauppauge Win TV2000 – video and audio are good to excellent. MPEG-2 recordings look good to excellent.
Beyond TV Trial Version – video and audio are good to excellent. MPEG-2 recordings look good to excellent.

Problems with GBPVR – build 09516:
1. Video looks fuzzy. Scrolling ticker on CNBC fuzzy and barely legible. Audio is OK.
If Hauppauge and Beyond TV get a score of 100 on video quality, then GBPVR gets 75. However, stationary text on screen in GBPVR looks sharp and appears almost equivalent to Hauppauge and Beyond TV.

2. Watching prior recordings does not work. Video looks like extreme slow motion, with a frame change once every 2 to 3 seconds or so. The recorded file itself is OK, and looks normal when viewed with Windows Media Player, or WinDVD. The quality of the file may be somewhat lower than those created by Hauppauge or Beyond TV – using same settings. However, more testing is required to be sure.

The recorded video is on a drive separate from the Windows system drive, but the drive configuration should not be a problem since both Hauppauge and Beyond TV function OK.

Any thoughts on the above two problems?

GBPVR is an excellent program, and fixing the above problems would go a long way to making it outstanding.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Donald

P.S. How do you advance more than one channel at a time in the GBPVR Program Guide, using the Hauppauge 45 button remote? I haven’t found the magic button yet.

  EPG causes object error
Posted by: excotec - 2005-12-14, 05:16 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hell all. First post here and sorry to say it is a plea for help. I had live TV working with all 5 channels I get here in Germany on AFN. On zap2it I found they do have listings for AFN so I signed up for an account and applied the proper setting to get the guide to work. Now that I have the guide working the live tv won't. I get the object reference not set to an instance of an object error message. I looked for my gbpvr.exe.log to attach here but could not find a file named that. I do have my native file though. Can some one help me out. Thanks

  EPG Update
Posted by: gehing - 2005-12-14, 04:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (8)

I have a PVR 500 MCE, my machine is a DELL Dimension Desktop, Pentium 4 3.2 GHz (HT) with 3 GB of memory.
For the PVR 500 I have setup to recording sources, both with ZAP2IT. Both accounts of ZAP2IT contain the same channel setup, about 200 channels.
With the GBPVR version before 95.14, the update took a few minutes.
Now, with 95.16, the update takes about 3 hours, the CPU is at about 75% for 3 hours.
The configuration for EPG is:
<!-- EPG settings -->
<EPGProcessingMode>NORMAL</EPGProcessingMode>
<UpdateEPGHour>22</UpdateEPGHour>
<WakeMachineForEPGUpdate>false</WakeMachineForEPGUpdate>
<BlebUserAgent>GBPVR</BlebUserAgent>
<Zap2itListingDays>15</Zap2itListingDays>
<DvbEpgHarvestDuration>120</DvbEpgHarvestDuration>
<SaveZap2itXML>false</SaveZap2itXML>
<UseNewZap2itParser>true</UseNewZap2itParser>
<CompleteEPGReload>false</CompleteEPGReload>
<TvGuideSpecialTaskExecutable>
</TvGuideSpecialTaskExecutable>
<TvGuideSpecialTaskArguments>
</TvGuideSpecialTaskArguments>

What can I do to make this faster?

Regards,
Gert

  xmltv takes a long long time?
Posted by: zeltak - 2005-12-14, 04:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (9)

hi all!

im so happy since know almost everything seems to work (after a very hard week of configs!). now a new problem i have. i have managed to use tvxb and output a xmltv file. problem is that when i try to update the epg with gb pvr it takes a long long time (its been runing for 40 minutes and still it seems stuck). i cancelled it before and used a short version of the xmltv (only 4 entries) and it worked fine. what can be the problem. is there a limit on channles (i only have like 30). i dont understand why it gets stuck, all the channels are congifured the same way in the ini file. very strange. id love to hear any suggestions

Best wishes

  Where did you 1st hear about GBPVR?
Posted by: McBainUK - 2005-12-14, 01:01 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (27)

Noticed lots of new names lately, just wondering how people discovered GBPVR. I stumbled across it on a Google search.
