API to bring up the little visualization window
Posted by: reven - 2005-11-29, 11:33 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (2)

sub i must admit i never tried the visualization music library until today, i thought that it just went into fullscreen right away.

anyway is there an api call to bring up the visualization window, this is a brilliant little thing, i would love to show it on most screens. and what is it exactly, a child window? just wondering about the whole repaint issue.

also is there a way to position/size it?

the PM3 skin on xbmc pretty much fulls the main menu with the visualiztion when music is playing back, i would also like to do this.

  Collection skin upgrade issues
Posted by: kaiger - 2005-11-29, 11:06 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

I installed the color collection with the 95.11 upgrade today. It generally works well, but I've found a few minor issues. I never used this skin with 94.13, so I don't know if these are upgrade issues or not.
-When you delete a recording with confirmation required, the window doesn't show up. I can hit 'ok' a second time and it deletes the file, it just doesn't show the popup window.
-I changed the background color to the dark blue and the window that you use to choose 'watch, record, quick record' etc is still beige. Everything else is the correct color.
-Sub's new guide features don't show up. Specifically the colored bar above the times that tells you if there is something scheduled or a conflict during that time.
-One feature request is for the main menu to keep the highlight in the center like the bluemce2 skin does. It allows you to put often used buttons above and below the default highlighted button. The way 'colors' currently works, when I push up it jumps all the way to the bottom of the list.
Great work on your skin series. I love the professional feel and it's obvious you've put a lot of work into your collections.
Thanks
Kai

  No audio
Posted by: scottmso - 2005-11-29, 10:57 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I was recently playing with BDA muxers when the audio in GB-PVR decided to stop working. Nothing in GB-PVR outputs audio (DVD, TV, Video Library) but everything else outside of GB-PVR is fine. What might the problem be?

  Recordings Tab in gbpvr.mdb
Posted by: justlivin' - 2005-11-29, 10:33 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

It seems in the newest relesae the Recordings tab is missing from gbpvr.mdb. What is it called now? Can I create a recordings tab safely, if so how? Thanks.

Improving DVR-MS support / MCE Integration
Posted by: ALAN1 - 2005-11-29, 10:05 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Ive been using GBPVR for a while now, to view the dvr-ms files recorded on my MCE machine, through my MVP I have in the bedroom, works very well and no need to try and source a MCE Extender!

Having just installed the latest version of GBPVR, I love the addition of the delete button in the video library, no need to go back to the MCE machine to delete watched shows anymore !! Many thanks for the addition sub.

There are only 2 things remaining which enhance the 'MCE Extender' functionality of GBPVR/MVP ....

1. It would be great for files to be grouped - almost like in folders, rather than in a long list, I assume that MCE does this based on the file name as the all follow the same format separated by the underscore e.g.

this is the show title_channel_dd_mm_yy_hh_mm_ss.dvr-ms

2. the ability to access the meta data stored to give the programme details, which are storedin the dvr-ms file , this is described in more detail at

http://msdn.microsoft.com/smartclient/de...-ms_topic8

Of course, I realise that neither of these are ever going to be high priority for most GBPVR users, but i thought i would add it to the wishlist for a rainy day! Smile

  Audio Sync, Level using PVR-350
Posted by: bemoore - 2005-11-29, 09:49 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've read that it is recommeded to route the PVR-350 audio out to the sound card audio line-in to be able to control the level. The audio already lags the video by a bit, sometimes enough to be disconcerting, sometimes not. Routing the audio through the sound card will only delay it further making the problem worse. Is there any way in GBPVR (or anywhere else for that matter) to adjust the audio/video sync on a PVR-350? I have the Hauppauge Tweaker tool and it doesn't do it.

Thanks.

  Music Library Skinning
Posted by: tieke - 2005-11-29, 08:46 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Hi sub, I wondered if you could add a few more options to the Music Library skin - basically I run into a couple of problems in icon mode with a non-black background:

1 You paint a small black square around the album images, which means that this square slightly messes up non-black backgrounds.

2. If the album image and IconText positions/sizes could be allowed to be changed in the skin, that would be great - at the moment, the IconText partially obscures the album image for me in icon mode, which makes it a bit hard to read.

cheers,

tieke

XDVD Hangs with CPU at 100%
Posted by: ww4397 - 2005-11-29, 07:52 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

I installed XDVD and successfully transferred a DVD to an .mpg file on my hard drive. When I play the .mpg file back and click on "Exit" from my PC (or "Stop" form the MVP) to stop watching the show, GBPVR hangs with the CPU at 100%. The only solution I've found to get GBPVR working again is to stop everything GBPVR related in Task Manager and start GBPVR over again. But, the same thing happens the next time I "Exit"/"Stop" the .mpg file.

BTW, I have no other problems with GBPVR. Recording and watching shows all work fine.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

Thanks.

Dummy Channel Mapped to VLC Stream
Posted by: blackbeltdbz - 2005-11-29, 07:20 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (1)

Would it be possible to create a channel that is permanenty mapped to a VLC video stream on the network and compatible with MediaMVP? This would allow for transcoding to be done on a computer other than the gbpvr computer and would allow for much versatility.
