  GBRecord and 27/7
Posted by: klunde - 2005-11-28, 10:14 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi, is there a way to tell GBRecord to continue recording 24/7 and change the filename it writes to with an adjustable parameter?

If, no, is there any chance this can be incorporated into a future version of this great program?

Regards

  Bug in Conflicts code v94.13
Posted by: steves - 2005-11-28, 08:40 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Sub,

Don't know if you've fixed this in the latest v95 version.... (apologies if you have)

I've found a bug in the way conflicts are handled when you have 2 (virtual) tuners.

My setup has one physical PVR150, configured as 2 tuners:

1: Telewest (cable box controlled by USB-UIRT)
2: Terrestrial (normal channels off Antenna no changer required, used for Channels 1 - 5)

Situation:

1) Do a reoccuring schedule for something on tuner 2 (e.g. the daily daytime rubbish on Channel 1) I call this SHOW A. It's on everyday Mon-Fri same slot.
2) Schedule reoccuring SHOW B the similar daytime rubbish on Channel 3, scheduled as a *deliberate* conflict. (again this should be on Tuner 2)

What I see in SCHEDULED_RECORDINGS table.

SHOW A is scheduled correctly all shows scheduled on Tuner 2 Status 0.

SHOW B is scheduled INCORRECTLY all shows scheduled on TUNER **1** Status 5 (I assume 5 means conflict).

Even if I remove the conflict the Status changes OK but the Tuner remains 1 (i.e. incorrect).

Repeated above experiment but removed one of the SHOW A schedules (e.g. Wednesday) before I scheduled the SHOW B slots.

Results: All the show Bs are scheduled wrong except for the "Wednesday" one where I pre removed the conflict.

This results in shows not recording (coz the tuner's wrong).

You've probably spotted this already though....

Cheers

Steve

  MCE2005 ir blaster
Posted by: stefan - 2005-11-28, 07:39 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Great job on the new release!

I saw that you added support for the MCE2005 ir blaster. This seems nice, as I can get one of those cheaper than I can get a USB-URIT. A few questions though. Some of these I guess Sub is more suited to answer, others might be more aimed at other readers =)

a) Can I use GBPVR to learn my STBConfused remote, or do I need another program for that (previously people have used HIP, if I understand correctly)

b) Can I use the ir blaster from the MCE2005 only, and still use my universal remote that I use today? Alternatively, is the MCE2005 a learning remote in the meaning that I can teach it the remote codes of my TV, Surround system, etc?

c) Would I have an equal chance to teach the MCE2005 the remote of my STB as I would have with the USB-UIRT, or would I have a greater chance with the USB-UIRT? The remote I'm using is in the 56 KHz band, so it's not in the "normal" 32 KHz.

Video "Data Disc" Burning idea for gbpvr program
Posted by: jc8472 - 2005-11-28, 06:33 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

Burning data discs from the remote control would be exemplary. The data

discs would have video files (mpeg, avi, divx) written thru the gbpvr program

preferbly. This is just an idea in order to create discs for special dvd players

for playback in the living room for those who don't have the MVP.

I hope that noone stated this idea before, or I will look like a fool.

XGuide - channels in exclude and include tables
Posted by: Richard - 2005-11-28, 06:18 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (6)

When I updated to v.44 I had a problem that XGuide would only show 8 channels. Althoug the Guides.xml file correctly shows the channels that I want to exclude, the Guide2JConfigForm displays the channels to be excluded in the exclude and include tables. I have enclosed an example of the duplicate channels. How do I fix this? (Please note that the regular TV Guide works without any problems.) I have also upgraded to version 9.5.11 tonight and I still have the problem.

No picture just sound on LiveTV
Posted by: Haddock - 2005-11-28, 06:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Before today, LiveTV was working perfectly, but now, LiveTV shows a black screen. However, I can still hear the tv sound.
I've tried to uninstall GBPVR, delete the whole installation directory, upgrade to the lastest version, but I still have the problem.
My tv card is an ATI 550 Pro.

Any idea ?

Comclean cuts cause video to freeze
Posted by: nellanayrb - 2005-11-28, 04:02 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (26)

I've just recently started using comclean along with comskip to edit out the commercials, and for the first several shows I recorded comclean seemed to do an excellent job. But now I have noticed on the last several recordings, that when I try to play back the mpg file it runs into problems where the cuts were made. The picture freezes and the audio from after the cut continues for a few seconds, then everything stops altogether. If I manually advance beyond this point, everything is fine, so long as I skip ahead before it gets a chance to freeze.
By the way, I'm playing them back in windows media player, not sure if that makes a difference...
