Am I missing something? How do I view the program on the local machine? Must I have some sort of remote device, like the MVP from Happauge (sp?).

Well - I know that a constructor is called when an instance of an object is created but how does this apply to plugins?

I'm trying to work out where I should initialize various components, process the skin.xml, etc. etc. I'm currently doing this in the Activate method but that doesn't seem right - I have to use 'keep-alive' type flags to prevent Activate from re-initialising stuff if I exit the plugin then go back in. At the same time, I don't want my plugin to do a whole load of stuff every time the gbpvr main app. is started (if that is when the constructor is called).

Slightly confused.

Has anyone been able to get this PCI card (AverTV Hybrid+FM PCI (A16AR))to work with GB-PVR. Tried all the BDA drivers I can find of Avermedia website.
Have correct MPEG decoders.
Any ideas. I must confess I'm fairly new to all this video/TV stuff, so excuse my ignorance.

I'm back!!! With a new motherboard!
I always had the random problem with GBPVR stopping the AVI transcode to MPG when I was watching my DVDs on the MVP. I also started seeing random freezes when I was playing games, so last week, I decided to test my system.

I downloaded Prime95, and ran the torture test in blend mode. To my susprise, Prime95 reported my computer was making erroneous calculations. I spent the last week trying to diagnose, and it ended up being a defective capacitor on my mobo. I noticed that during intense calculations, my Vdd (chipset voltage) started dropping from 1.6 down to 1.4v every once in a while. I looked at the cap, and it was slightly cracked on the top. Barely visible with the naked eye.
I had a friend run the same test on the same mobo+CPU and RAM, and his Vdd was rock stable.

So i'm back, with an Abit NF7-S2G, that doesn't generate calculation errors anymore, and a bank account $60 lighter. Could have been worse, I guess.

So if you're having the random crashes in GBPVR, and can't really pinpoint where it comes from, it's worth running the torture test in "blend" mode of Prime95. Might reveal something you didn't know about!

First of all I want to thank Sub for this wonderful product. I was unsatisfied by the proprietary software that came with my capture card and I just couldn't get mythTV to work correctly and when I found this I was overjoyed.

My only issue is the slow response of the UI in Recordings which seems to degrade as I accumulate more recordings. I'm using v0.94.13 on AMD Sempron 2600 machine with 1GB of RAM. The capture card is a Hauppaugge PVR-350 with 45 button remote. My recordings are stored on a seperate partition from the operating system which is 290GB in size. When that partition is approximately 25% full it takes about 1-2 minutes to make a selection.

I did a little searching within this forum and the only performance suggestions I could find were related to block size on the storage drive. I am pretty sure that I formatted it with 4k block size before but I am reformatting that drive now to be absolutely sure.

Are there any other hints or tips that might boost performance of the UI Navigation?

Anybody having problems with zapimport the last few days? It seemed to quit Monday. EPG is updating fine but zapimport is throwing an exception regardless of when I run it.

Had my set setup working for about a week now. Working pretty good. Have a 150 card.

After watching video or a recording the blaster dosen't work in LiveTV. Have to restart GBPVR. (this is all I need to do, no restart of IR) All the other remote functions work.

On another note, any users from Norway/Sweden using sat card with Canal Digital?

alright, i'm using comskip .64, it detects commercials, and from comparing what i see it's right....

i then run comclean on the mpg, and it gives resulting cutpoints, etc.. which are also right...

i then watch the output file and there are commercials. not like it missed something, but more like it never removed anything.

looks to me that everything is working correctly, but it's just not doing anything.

anyone have any idea whats up?

I have ripped some of my movies on to a storage server. When I play them with powerdvd on the box that they are located on everything works fine. When I try to play them thru GBPVR on my HTPC box there is no sound. I am using Nvidia Purevideo decoder, Cyberlink Audio Decoder (came with Powerdvd 5). I have also tried the nvidia audio decoder and same result.
The drive is mapped to where the movies are stored as well. The 2 computers are hooked up at 100mbps.
The movies are ripped into the .vob files using dvd shrink. How can I fix this?
