hi,
A couple of questions:
a) any one else using bladerunner epg successfully?
b) is it normal for gbpvr to fail silently when an import fails as I can not see anything in the logs
c) is it possible the XMLTV plugin in gbpvr is not 100% xmltv compliant?
I recently changed to the latest version of blade because the previous started to fail and ever since the produced listing2.xml file is not getting imported into gbpvr.
The listing file does appear complete, the xmltv.xsd (xmltv schema) is the same as the old version of blade. The listing file is in a slightly different format than the previously generated file, but should still be fine.
I have two issues for which I really need advice now:
(EPIA SP8000E, Hauppauge PVR 350)
LiveTV:
1 - when selecting this menu option the Live TV starts fine on the TV out. However, once I switch channel using up/down arrows, it switches to an "empty" channel and after a short while the whole computer freezes.
2 - I don't seem to get the channel assignments right. In config.exe, I have assigned the right channels to the broadcasting station names in the channels tab, however if I go to the TVGuide in gbpvr, select any current show and choose "watch", it displays the wrong channel (on TVout). I have used the tuning assistant to figure out which channel numbers the stations have, and have used the same channel numbers in config.exe.
FM Radio:
- I have no option in the radio plugin to "scan". I can add a FM channel manually, but when i select it and choose "play" it says "unable to communicate with recording service". Altough the gbpvr is freshly started and I haven't selected to watch tv, nor is any tv recording going on. I'm especially puzzled about the fact that there's no scan option, although the hauppage 350 has a FM port which is connected to the FM cable (the hauppauge radio application works).
Any hints on where to look next, any things I should check? Driver I should have? Options I should have selected/deselected?
Morning all......long time lurker, first time poster!!! Lovely bit of software Sub....
I'm finally getting round to setting up my dvb/freeview PVR.
Anyone have any points/pros/cons of the various cards available?. Main options are the haupp nova-t, the twinhan, or the blackgold.
Also, is the twinhan card sold under the "visionplus" brand in the UK? seems to appear alot when googling for the twinhan.
Is there any way of testing that an image exists, before trying to call it??
So i could go call something else if it wasn't there. i suppose i could do it by reading the xml directly, or a big try catch section...but wondering if there's anything "nice" already to do it for me.
I just installed xrecord on my system and started to have a bit of a play, looks like what i've been looking for.
Unfortunatly, I didn't setup all the config options and now I get the following msg:
"Microsoft .NET Framework
An unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will be shut down immediately.
Specified argument was out of the range of valid values.
Parameter name: '0' is not a valid value for 'index'"
It then goes into greater detail, much greater detail :-(
I have run the uninstall for xrecord and this fixes the problem, until I reinstall and get the same message
Hi All!
Yes I know that sub has told us that Avi is no big question but I'm just fishing for some information.
I recently replaced my HTPC and when I did that I reinstalled everything and now looking at xvid, divx encoded Avi doesn't look great using GBPVR.
So I mostly use the VLC to see avi.
I understand that GBPVR is dependent of some codec, but which codec gives the best picture? Any hints?
Having a plug-in that gives me the power of using VLC from inside GBPVR, well that would be something
(Unfortunately I’m a lousy programmer so I can’t do that myself )
I searched a little and could only find tuning and EPG posts.
How would you do about editing the channels? I've always had a problem where two channels are showing up as 81, even though zap2it has them as 81 and 82. I tried just editing the name, but it still sees 82 where 81 is.
I also had a channel rename, pushing a 38 to the bottom (it's an 80 or 110 in the index). I'd like to move that up where the dead one is/was (A&E was ARTS and became AETV in zap2it...same channel/#, different data)
Zap2it listings have been working fine and I can get more than a week of listings, but it seems like the networks will change their schedule and my schedule in GBPVR isn't updated.
For example, it was a 2 hour special of the Amazing Race and I only had 1 hour in the TV Listings. I missed the 2nd hour completely.
Anybody have an idea of how to deal with this? Should I set the number of days to keep shorter?
