I bought myself a Sapphire Theatrix a while back, and have been quite happy with it and GB-PVR. My sister and her hubby saw me using it one day, and have now approached me with the task of building them a new system. They are looking to create one complete system for everything from e-mail to gaming to, of course, watching and recording TV. The TV bit will be on their actual TV, and everything else on a proper computer monitor. However, they have digital cable, and do not want to lose that with going to a home-brew PVR. I am wondering what can be done with this setup. Are there cards that can use the digital stream? Will her cable company curse her soul for ever more if she uses one of these cards? Or is it better to stick with the digital cable box and send an analog signal to the computer, as if it were just a plain-old TV? I've been happy with the Theatrix (the ATi T550P) but is there anything better for the price (driver issues aside)? I know a bit about TV-out capabilities on most video cards and I know that to enable/disable it the controls are generally buried off in the Display Properties window. Is there any way to bring it down to one or two clicks to switch between TV and monitor? I'm not worried about any other portions of the system, just the tuner and how to make all of this as user-friendly as possible. Thanks for your help.
I'm trying to adjust the video settings (saturation, hue, etc) for my Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB-2 by editing the direct.ini file, but the changes don't seem to have any effect. I've tried restarting the recording service after I make a change, but that didn't accomplish anything.
When does gbpvr send the settings to the Hauppauge WinTV PVR USB-2? Please don't tell me I have to reboot for them to take effect, because my machine takes nearly 5 minutes to get back to a useful state each time I reboot! :eek:
I have a new LC18 case,
This case comes with a lcd touchscreen with a CRT connector.
I want to connect both the touchscreen and my Plasma to the same computer.
Plasma -> DVI/HDMI
LCD -> CRT
How can I make both of them show the same picture, but at diffrent screen resolutions (some sort of scaling is needed) on an NVIDIA GPU???
I want something between "Clone" and "Dualview"
Clone-Two copies, sam resoultion
Dual-diffrent resolutions
Just want to start with this is a great program.. The nicest PVR I've found..
But I'm having a few issues..
I seem to configure GB-PVR it works then I power off the PC, come back to it later and GB-PVR starts create errors..
I've attached a screen shot and a zip with all my logs..
TV Card Medion 7134 Hybrid (DVB-T, FM Radio & Analogue)
This is on a 'clean' install of XP Pro SP2 fully updated from Windows Update.
I also have PowerDVD installed.
I am trying to access the Web Admin from another internet connection
and it does not seem to be working.
I deleted the web folder and downloaded gbweb-enhanced.v28.2.zip and
extracted that into a new web folder under the gbpvr directory while
the recording service was disabled. I then set the admin username and
password in the config (and enabled the service) and restarted the recording service.
I can use the interface if I click on the localhost link in the
utilities section.
But, from a different computer on the web it's not working.
In my router, I opened port 7647 (both TCP and UDP) and pointed it to
the IP address of the computer running the GBPVR recoding service.
When I try to log into the server from another computer, this is what I
type in the address bar:
I doesnt work. I clicked the fix for the 43 button remote. restarted the ir program in the system tray nothing seemed to work. What are you supposed to be able to do with the remote. Can you start the GBPVR like you can with wintv. Will it navigate thru the menus. I ask cuz I wanna make sure I am not expecting too much out of the remote. (I would like to stop using the mouse as the remote). Thanks in advance for your help
