  Live TV + Channel Surf
Posted by: BrainStormer - 2005-10-31, 01:43 AM - Forum: Wishlist - No Replies

How about being able to pause one channel so you can surf, and still come back to what you were watching? (2 Tuners Required)

  Video Archiver Bug
Posted by: UncleJohnsBand - 2005-10-31, 01:26 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

Jeff....I have noticed a bug(I think) in the current relase of VA(10/08/05).

Load all files and directories on intial startup.
I have my configuration set to cache just one directory and 1 new recording. I did this since if I cache everything no new recordings show up as they are added.

The bug seems to be when I delete the last recording for a show I can not see any more recordings under any other show...they like vanish. I go out to the main menu and back in....still nothing listed.

If I turn the MVP off/on (via the remote not hard off/on) and go back in I can then see the recordings....until I again delete the last recording in a show.

Has this been identified before or is anyone else experiencing this?

  HTPC Case/Setup recommendations
Posted by: spyork - 2005-10-31, 12:36 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (8)

I currently have an Antec ATC 610 which I'm giving the boot. The case is beautiful, but the space is too confined and case cooling is a problem. What is everyone's opinion of the Sonata II for a HTPC case. My setup is as follows:
Abit NFS-7 2.0 NForce2 motherboard
AMD 2400 XP
1GB RAM
PVR-350 and plan on adding PVR-500 in the future
soon to be 2x 250GB or 300GB SATA drives
DVD ROM
ATI 9800 Pro
3x Media MVP units

I would like a case that is quiet, but also good on keeping temps low. Any recommendations are apprecicated. Also what is everyone's opionion on RAID? Should I RAID my two drives for GBPVR? Thanks...

  GBpvr crashed my computer/memory overload
Posted by: postaldave - 2005-10-31, 12:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

first off, i LOVE GBpvr and will still use it, this is more of a bug report.

my computer was dragging really slow, with a gig ram and a smoking cpu that never happens. i brought up the system tool thing(alt, ctl, delete) and notice over 30 programs marked (gbpvr.exe were running and using all the memory.

if i restarted the computer they all would come back up and drag the whole thing to the ground. after a system32 error crashed it for good the system was toast.

this has happened one time before and resulted in the same total crash.

i've re-installed the system and will re-installed GBpvr. i love the program so much i don't mind it killing the computer every couple of months. (smiles)

anyone else run into this???????????????????????????????????????????????

USB-UIRT InterCodeDelay - does it work?
Posted by: blader_se - 2005-10-30, 10:40 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (19)

I'm devestated. I've just got a new sattellite reciever (Canal digital, code RC-5 I guess), and the USB-UIRT does not manage to switch correctly to any two-digit channels.
1-9 seems ok though, so I played around with RepeatCount and InterCodeDelay but nothings seems to happen. By that I mean regardless of if i have reapeatcount 90 or 5, intercodedelay 100 or 900 the failure/success rate seems to be the same

I have now repeatedly switch between two-numbered channels and it accept
first digit, next time second digit, then first, then none, then first, then both and so on.

It's almost as if the code was alternating on just the two digits....

I've restarted GBPVR-recording service between each changing in the USBUIRT ir file. I've also relearnt the remote, but same result....

Any ideas?

  Duplicate Recordings for DVB users
Posted by: gEd - 2005-10-30, 09:30 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (3)

Hi

It would be good if gbpvr could detect duplicates based on an exact match of the program description from the xml epg data.

In the UK, some freeview programs are repeated very frequently, sometimes several times a day.

Is there multiple NLB support with a single DVB-S card
Posted by: swissueli - 2005-10-30, 08:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

Hi all,

I got two quad LNBs for my satellite dish (one for Astra and one for Hotbird ... living in Europe).

Can I configure a single DVB-S card with GBPVR for both LNB or do I need to install 2 DVB-S cards ... one for each satellite?

Thanks a lot for clarifying.

Cheers, Ulrich

GBPVR and BTV used at same time on same machine?
Posted by: bowtomecha - 2005-10-30, 06:20 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

I jusrt tried the MVP server for GBTV yesterday and I loved it. It's way better than the MVPBTV one. Question is, can I use GBTV as a server/scheduler/recorder just for MVP and BTV on the same machine for my actual computers? And have them share a folder to send recorded videos to so the family can schedule and record shows without getting on computers and still watch anything out of the video pool we make? I have no intention of using GBTV for my computers as I already have BTV and the interface is better for my laptops and such. But I really like the GBTV MVP server for the rest of the things. im guessing its better to reserve certain tuners for each platform. I plan on having three for BTV to view live tv/record and just one for now for recording for the MVPs as its not really necessary to watch live tv on them right now.
