Hi,
I'm a new to PVR on PC and just installed the Fusion5 to watch record OTA HD. I'ev installed GBPVR in addition to the Fusion s/w and with help of the Wiki have been able to get it mostly working. Only issue I currently see is that I am unable to play back recordings. The recordings show up in the menu, but when selected stay blank and when I try to exit, GB-PVR crashes.
Could it be related to the mux? I currently have MS DVR-MS selected. I am running Win XP Pro sp2 (P4 2.8HT, GeForce 5200, on board stereo). After reading thru the sticky and the wiki, it seems GB-PVR should have picked up the mux that should have been installed by Fusion5 (zulu something or the other). But this does not show up as an option on the mux list. In playback, I have zulu hdtv decoder selected.
How do I get the zulu mux to show up on the list, or alternatively is there some other setting I should be checking/changing?
I think that I should be able to create a hub (if someone has a fixed ip address and some bandwidth to spare for a naming service). The C# clients would connect to the gbpvr hub and share videos. I am going to investigate it we can configure the hub to only allow certain users creating a private network.
Has anyone used this? Does it work well?
If I can get it to work I plan on modifying the client code to get a socket interface so I can control it from my plugin.
Today I discovered a bunch of comskip files on my drive from old recordings I've deleted through the GBPVR interface. Is it possible for GBPVR to delete the comskip files when I delete a recording?
I've got an old STB TV Tuner card in a Win2K box that I am trying to get to work with GBPVR. The drivers I'm using are generic to the cards tv tuner chipset (got them off the net), they support it as a Conexant Bt828 chipset and I just don't know what settings to use. There is a Conexant Blackbird option but it says that there is no driver installed for it. What should I choose?
Also, whats up with all the acronyms? I can't tell what anything is. Such as
DVB EPG Broadcast
BDA Recording plugin
BDA Devices
Also, do I have to have a channel changer? Is that just for a remote control?
Hi, I am a newbie to GBPVR but after trying to get it working for 2 weeks I need help.
I am running it on a XP Pro box that is only accessed via XP remote desktop and am trying to record from a UK Freeview Hauppauge Nova-T USB2. I am using the Showshifter mux.
When I record it only records the first 489,624KB and then quits. All my recordings are this length. This is driving me nuts. I have no screen saver on the machine or other power saving stuff on any of the logon's (inc Admin).
Surely if I'm recording a Mpeg2 source, it should only record one quality, the bit rate it's Tx in? Also, what is the difference between Quick record and normal record ?
If anyone out there has their settings for a similar setup, or just those required for the Nova-T USB2, (esp' if you've got the Freeview EPG working), I would be greatful for a copy of them.
Using a 45 key Hauppauge with a PVR150. Basically want to exit the main menu with the big green power key on the remote instead of scrolling through the menu options. Is there a key or key sequence to exit ?
The Recording Service seems to work fine BUT:
GB-PVR itself does not (with v2.0 installed only - so I re-installed v1.1 again to get GB-PVR working again but now with v2.0 released I would say that this should get fixed...), I got that error in the log file:

This has happened twice in the past couple of weeks. All of my channels are three digit and are sent from a USB-UIRT to a Sky Digital box.
It would appear that gbpvr is sending 1115 rather than 115, this then switches the Sky box to the wrong channel.
In the USB-UIRT channel changer dialog I have tried:
1. All checkboxes unticked
2. Checkbox 1 and checkbox 3 ticked.
Both have resulted in this occasional problem.
I'm not using the most recent release of gbpvr. Can someone please tell me if this problem has been known to occur with older releases and whether it has been fixed?
It may not be a gbpvr issue but on both occasions it has occured when trying to switch to channel 115. Other recordings on 115 have been successful so I'm not quite sure why. Both may have been back to back recordings with something else - I'm not certain about that though.
See the latest posts in the sticky thread at the top of this forum, regarding poor MPEG playback performance. It seems Microsoft acknowledges the playback problems and publicly released a fix along with a recent security update. You may have upgraded your system without knowing it, like I did.
For me at least on Windows 2000, the problem with directx 9.0c's quartz.dll does seem to be solved. If you experienced the trouble yourself, rolling back to 9.0b's quartz.dll fixed your trouble, and you test out the latest update, please consider posting your findings here. Others will probably be reluctant to update until they get more confirmed success, and if it doesn't work for you, people will want to know.
