A minor bug fix release has been posted.
It can be downloaded from http://mk.kaashoek.com/gbpvr/
The version number and the change note is in the readme.txt file.
The ini settings padding, before_logo and after_logo are now described in the tuning manual.
I can't find info here anywhere and search doesn't work.
1st problem I cant get program info into the tv guide. I can search for shows but can't browse the guide. I've removed, reinstalled and update epg 400 times now.
2nd problem I get the error "failed to locate streaming server" on the mediampv. I am running the gb-pvr mediamvp server and the haupage services are stopped.
I apologize if this has been asked/answered before, but I couldn't find it with a search.
I am running 94.13, and trying to use web admin from work to access my home system. The problem is when I try to either change the time of the listing display using the << or >> buttons, or by selecting the time/date from the fields at the top. When I hit the << or >> buttons, it eventually times out and changes nothing. When I use the time/date fields, it give me either a web page error or just comes back with no change.
All the other tabs work fine (Manage recordings, Statistics, etc.). I can double-click on a show and schedule recordings (at least the ones in the 2-hour time slot I can get to). I have tried deleting all the files in the web\bin directory except for gbweb.dll and gbweb.pdb, as I have seen suggested before.
This has worked in the past, but has not been working for a couple of months now.
I have had this for a little while now. Its a bit annoying as I was demo'ing gb-pvr to a neighbour. I thought it time I reported it. Its the "metaname" etc tag that is displayed Any ideas?
Hello, I similar question to one that has been asked before, but I wasn't happy with the answers.
I recently bought a new tv ( 30" widescreen phillips, has HDMI, svideo, rca ). I would like my tv-out to look better. Currently I am using the svideo out on my geforce2mx card. That card is very old and wasn't that great to begin with. I can only run 640x480 without the tv producing ghost-like overlays.
What is the preferred way to do tv-out? I'm open to almost all options, I would like to run the tv at a higher resolution ( even a widescreen res would be nice ).
Are there any developments on the pc to HDMI out front? I've been googling but haven't come across anything yet. The goal is to have DVD's look as good coming from the gb-pvr box as good as possible ( preferrably comparable in aspect-ratio and quality as my $30 progressive scan dvd player ).
I introduced an MVP to my system about a month ago. When I first got it, it would play for about 15 minutes then drop the connection and get stuck on the connecting to server screen. If we unplugged it for 10 minutes it would reconnect for another 15 minutes (approx.) and drop the connection again.
I changed some setting on the GBpvr server and it seemed to work good for a couple weeks. I followed some of Tipster's recommendations and just made sure that the server was set up correctly. Now it's back to dropping the connection again. When the MVP has been off for any length of time, it connects quickly.
My MVP is connected via a 25ft. straight through patch cable to an eight port Linksys switch. The GBpvr is also connected to the same switch. The Hauppauge services are disabled. My Netgear wireless access point / internet router is acting as the DHCP server.
I called Hauppauge support this morning and described the problem I was having. The technical support guy emailed me a link to the latest MVP software that hasn't been posted to their site yet.
I'm confused on whether or not the Hauppauge MVP software needs to be installed or not. I believe I've read that it does *AND* that it doesn't. I'm wondering if the software he sent me will upgrade the firmware on the MVP, or if it will even be relevent considering that I'm using GBpvr and not the Hauppauge server sofware.
I selected a show to be recorded using the guide.
The show was recorded perfectly. However, the recording didn't stop after the show it continued on for another 7 hours.
I've been testing the webadmin. It's a cool feature. It works most of the time, but when I try to update a reoccuring recording that I scheduled from the Webadmin, it boots me to the main menu and gives a black window with an error message. I press OK and all I continue on my way. It doesn't crash so some great error checking on your part. This is all done with the native recordings plugin.
It's not a biggie because I can just delete the occurance and re-enter the recording locally. At least I didn't miss my show.
