popup box to change ffdshow settings on the fly via remote
Posted by: reven - 2005-09-20, 12:55 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (4)

wishlist or general? well hmm ok..

anyone know of a program that one could use to change the ffdshow settings on the fly using a remote? similar to onscreen display for normal tvs? like brightness, contrast, aspect ratios and all that. since ffdshow can handle all of this, it would be a system independant application and thus working with any media player. of course wouldnt work for xcard, mvp or 350, but who cares about those users.

its probably the easiest way to achieve this functionality, and perhaps could even handle a zoom like feature; who hasnt at one time or another wanted to zoom in on the tv, during the interesting parts Wink. anyone know of an application like this, or anyone wanted to develop one. come on i cant be the only one who thinks this is a good idea.

yeah i know you can adjust the settings using ffdshow with a mouse, but i want to do it via the remote (not using girder) and have a tv onscreen display like interface (ie semi transparent etc).

so anybody konw anything? or got some free time and programming experience waht to take this on?

ps i wonder if sub would move this...... its kind of a wish, kind of general in the cusp.

  Install Problems Twinhan
Posted by: RajDarge - 2005-09-20, 12:05 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

I installed GB-pvr after installing twinhan BDA drivers. Everything worked fine. Off course the TWINHAN software then didn't work with the new BDA drivers so I uninstalled the drivers and re-installed the Twinhan ordinary drivers.

Thus twin han worked and Gb-pvr didn't. Then I decided I liked gb-pvr and went back to the bda drivers. Now nothing works. There is no MUX thingy and its all quite painful.

I get a message:
"Please point me to the config folder" and the app just sits there for ever with a file-lister asking me to enter something. Of course its half frozen so I can only move the window around, but I can't actually select the config folder (not that I know where it is anyway). This happens when I select my capture device and try to copy epg settings or something like that. I have updated My EPG.

I am in NSW Aus. I am using a good aerial. I have selected TWINHAN BDA driver and EPG is the channel thingy.
It worked the first time but Not now.
I have de-installed it, and re-installed it 4 times.
I have edited the registry looking for gb-pvr gbpvr and pvr. and tried to remove all reference to it.

I have a feeling its a mjet odbc problem but am not smart enough to know what the acronyms stand for.

Please help before I kill myself.

Swtiching between MVP and Computer Monitor
Posted by: jcsimonich - 2005-09-19, 11:59 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (3)

From what I've gathered, some people use gbpvr gui interface on their computer monitors and some people use MediaMVP to get a GUI on their TV screen. I've gotten gbpvr to work with my MVP. Can I also get the GUI to launch on the PC monitor? Is it possible to switch the GUI between my PC monitor and my TV screen? I'm assuming I can't run both at the same time.

  Ghost Image
Posted by: shoote - 2005-09-19, 11:19 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

I found, when watching TV in gb-pvr I sometime meet ghost images Cool ,
these ghost are half transpert and appear at a light shift from the real image.
(I can add screenshot if someone will want to see it)

This ghost disapear automatic after one of the two:
1) I change channel
2) I wait enough until scene changes

I am using:
Hauppauge PVR-350 - composite connection
Windows XP Pro SP2.
Hauppauge decoders.
last version of gb-pvr(GBPVR09412.msi at the moment)
amd athlon 64 3200+
nvidia newest drivers (78.01)

this is very annoying when you find it in a recording. Smile

  Need help with installation
Posted by: stevenren - 2005-09-19, 11:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I am having trouble installing gb-pvr. Whenever i start the installer, it says

"error 1324. The folder path 'DivX?6.0 Codec.conf' contains an invalid character."

I am just less off reformatting, I have reinstalled .net framework and windows installation package. Any ideas?

I also have another question about installing 150MCE on a non-MCE OS. Should I use the MCE specific drivers or just follow the normal route of installation.

(So I won't need to click PAUSE to enter it)

New system - unable to get any audio
Posted by: chitown - 2005-09-19, 10:23 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hello all. First time poster, long time reader. Unfortunately I have spent way too much time trying to get this systrem set up on my own, and now I have to resort to getting a little help. I'm running a P4 1.7 system with Win XP SP2. I have PVR-150 with the latest Hauppauge drivers. I also have Cyberlink PowerDVD 6 and Intervideo WinDVD 7 installed on the system with lots of choice for decoders in my GBPVR config. I've tried every combination of them with no avail. My problem is I cannot get any audio at all in recordings and in Live TV. For a sound card I am using Intel Integrated Audio off the MB, but recently I plopped in a Turtle Beach Santa Crux I had laying around and although it works properly, still no sound in GBPVR. I have very good picture and sound while using WinTV2000, although it has approx. a 1 sec. delay when running side by side with my standard cable TV via the TV. When I switch to Live TV in GBPVR, the picture is exactly the same and in sync with the TV, although no audio at all. Tried playing a captured MPEG file in many different players and no audio. I'm not very savvy as far as HOW all this stuff works, but I'm pretty decent with fixing stuff with a little bit of guidance in the right direction. I did a dxdiag and everything looks good. (DX 9.0c). I can post up some logs, but I thought I'd throw out the problem to you guys since I seem to be missing something. Any help and suggestions are appreciated. And for what its worth, this is a fantastic program, even though I'm having these audio troubles. Can't wait to get her up and running to enjoy it a bit. Great job.

My Music slow accessing collection over wi-fi
Posted by: gEd - 2005-09-19, 09:45 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi

I have updated the My Music database which is configured to access my large (1800 CDs) mp3 collection over a wi-fi (g) network share.

However, when I go into my music and select one of the folders, it takes forever to bring up the list. In fact a lot of the time it never brings up the list.

I would have thought that with a local database, it should bring up the album list immediately. Is My Music trying to access the local share before bringing up the list?

I am struggling to find an acceptable way of playing my mp3 collection via gb-pvr atm. I did try building a m3u playlist that pointed to a (sample) 73 albums but gb-pvr crashed when trying to access this.

Does anyone have good experience of accessing a large mp3 collection over a network?

thanks
