Access to path _____ is denied.
Posted by: GSpanFan - 2005-09-30, 04:28 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Anyone have problems recording to a drive partition that GB-PVR and/or your OS are not installed on? GBPVR will record to my C:\ drive on which my OS and GBPVR are install, but can't record to G:\, a partition on the same hard drive as C:\. I've tried installing GBPVR to G:\, but that doesn't work either. I had trouble attaching my log file, so I just cut and pasted the relevant part of my recording service log. Why would GBPVR not be able to access a drive that all of the other programs and the user has access to? Thanks in advance!

  Error - please help !!
Posted by: tomc - 2005-09-30, 04:12 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hi,
I am running windows 2003 server with a Hauppauge WinTV Nova-t, and have installed the software that comes with the card (winTV 2000) and also the gbpvr software (after trying a few others that failed badly someone recomended this one). After setting it up it all worked fine, until I pressed a button on the remote control. The software hung so I restarted it. Now I cannot watch Live TV, every time I click the "live TV" button it gives me 2 errors (the first one may just be because I have the c++ debugging packages installed - on xp I probably wouldnt see the first message).
1st error)
Program: c:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\GBPVR.exe
Line: 150
Expression: p! = 0
Abort - Retry - Ignore
(this is a windows type error box)
on abort or retry the software ends, on ignore I recieve the second error
2nd error)
Error: Object reference not set to an instance of an object (this is a gbpvr error)

As I say - the software was all working fine (for about 10 mins !) and WinTV200 still works fine. I have tried re-installing both wintv and gbpvr and there is no difference.

Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone suggest how to fix it ?
if logs are needed can someone tell me which ones to post

Thanks

Tom

Installation and setup of 350 & 500 Card?
Posted by: casperse - 2005-09-30, 03:59 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (7)

Hi Experts...Big Grin

I have just bought a new PVR500 Card and now I need to set Install it
The proper way... (Sorry for stupid Questions I am Newbie)

A) I use the TV-out on the 350 card, should this be device 1#?

And when setting up the PVR500 Card like this.
Capture Source:
1# PVR350
2# PVR500 (Tuner1)?
3# PVR500 (Tuner2)?
(Dont care about the FM radio part)

B) When setting up the channels can I just use the same channel that I already use with the 350 Card? I have used FreqCopy to override frequencies for Hauppauge TV Cards. Should this be done again?`

The channels "order" is also the same as the PVR350 so can I reuse the setup.
Or should I configure the new PVR500 Tuners with the Wintv2000 tool?

C) Should I use the MCE drivers? (OS= WINXPro)

D) Since I am using all the same channels for all the tuners I can use the same XML file for the TV guide correct?

Thanks for Helping out!
And have a excellent weekend

Cheers
Casperse
Any other things that I should look out for?

  What skins work with v0.94.13?

Having finally got GBPVR functioning perfectly I think it's time to smarten things up a bit.

Can anyone tell me which skins still work with the latest version?

  Replace Elecard codec with PowerDVDs?
Posted by: Humperdinck - 2005-09-30, 03:02 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Dear Forum,

First of all, thank you for the excellent GBPVR. I used to run something called myhtpc a while back that was similar, that one vanished and now GBPVR replaces it with brilliance!

The question:

Is it possible to use another codec than the elecard one when processing to xvid? If so, please let me know. If I understand it correctly it's the de-coder codec that is being used when processing to divx (?) and on my machine I already have the Hauppauge codecs (InterVideo NonCSS) and the PowerDVD codecs as well (Cyberlink). Could it be possible to change from the elecard ones to one of these to be able to get rid of the dreaded elecard logo that appears on the xvids.

Grateful for any answer!

/Humperdinck

  MVP connecting to servers forever
Posted by: ReZnOriO - 2005-09-30, 01:24 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Hey guys,

I had the gbpvr display on my MediaMVP up once for about 10 mins. After restarting, it has never come back. I get the 'connecting to servers' on the screen for about a minute then back to the lame MVP videos/music/radio screen.

I've tried 'auto start servers=1' and manually running the gbpvr mvp server. I even upgraded to the newest gbpvr (which killed all my pvr card configs and recordings Sad ) and I still can't get any display on my tv.

My question is, what log files can I use to debug this problem? I don't have zonealarm and I"m on the same subnet.

winxp pro sp2 (media mvp ports open via hauppauge install software)
pvr150 cable
pvr250 usb2 digital stb w/ ir blaster
athlon64
1 gig ram

Thanks,

Multiple PVR cards and EPG madness
Posted by: ReZnOriO - 2005-09-30, 01:18 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

Hey guys,

I have a WinTV PVR150 and a WinTV PVR250 USB2 setup on my pc. I'm trying to figure out the best way to manage the guides for both. I read the multiple pvr troubleshooting page but there are a few things I'm not clear on.

It says if you have one digital box and one analog cable, setup respective pvrs to do one each. I went to zap2it and added another digital cable lineup to my profile (now one cable and one digital). But when I go to the channel setup in gbpvr config and press update EPG, it pulls all channels for both PVRs. I 'disable' channels 1-76 on my digital one but whenever it updates, it enables them all again. Not to mention, when I go to the analog cable one, I have the daunting task of disabling over 700 digital channels one by one (there's no multiple hilite feature). Do I have to create another zap2it account for digital?? How are multiple lineups handled? By the way, my 'map digital channels' button is always greyed out.

Thanks alot!

Sub,

Have you come across this:

Is it something that GBPVR would support?

  New Wiki for HTPC hardware
Posted by: andlju - 2005-09-30, 11:12 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (14)

I thought ydekmekji's suggestion of a Wiki page for HTPC hardware was very good, so I decided to put one up.

http://myhtpc.ljusberg.com/

The idea is that if "everyone" contributes with a few words on what HTPC setups they are using, we can build up a library of good (and bad) hardware combinations.

If successful, I think this might be a very good tool for the community, especially for people (like myself) who are in the process of spending some money on a new rig... If not successful, well it only took a couple of hours to set it up. Rolleyes

Anyway, go over to http://myhtpc.ljusberg.com/ and contribute!
