How does the Harmony 659 communicate with the PC? Do you have to buy a seperate reciever or does one come with the remote that I can use with GB-PVR?

  Guide / Info Buttons
Posted by: Hunter Sun - 2005-09-20, 04:18 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (1)

Question.

I can use the Guide button while I am in the menuing system of the MVP to get to the TV Guide, but it does not seem to work during Live TV or during playing of a recording. Is there something I'm missing to getting this to work, so I can fully go to the Guide straight from TV Like my Comcast Display?

Also, is there the possibility of the Info button bringing up detail of the currently running program that is being watched?

  Ever increasing VM size
Posted by: wtg - 2005-09-20, 03:58 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

I've been running the newest release for a few days now and I just recently had an error pop up. It was a Windows message telling me it had to adjust the VM size because it had run out of virtual memory. Wondering who the culprit was that was eating up all my VM, I discovered huge amounts allocated to the various gbpvr sessions. See the screenshot:

VM Memory Size

So, this shouldn't be expected, should it?

  No Video?
Posted by: Akito - 2005-09-20, 03:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi there, I was recommended GBPVR from a friend, and upon learning that the s/w didn't support my older ATI tv tuner, I bought a Hauppauge PVR 150.

I had no problems installing the software, but I can't seem to get the live video to work. I hear the audio, but no video. I have been able to record show's and play them back in Windows Media Player (they look great). Even after recording show's I can't watch them in GBPVR.

I have tried changing some settings with no luck. In the configuration Menu Hardware Decoder is set to none ( I thought the 150 had h/w decoder built in to it, but only see the 350 there) VMR9 is currently selected, but I have tried VMR7 and Overlay Manager (the last two options the OSD disappeared.. no show information anymore)

I find this baffling because in the Tuning assistant I see video, but for whatever reason, there is no video in the actual GBPVR s/w. (it's recording the video though!!)

Any ideas?

I am using a P3 900, with a AGP TNT2 card that is displaying only to TV (no monitor) 512 mb ram.
The hauppauge s/w shows live tv, but not the GBPVR.

Thanks

  IOMagic PCTV100

I know this card is not the best, but has anyone got it to work with GBPVR? I am looking for a freeware solution PVR that can cut out commercials and has the functionality of GBPVR. Is there a plugin for the IOMagic PCTV100 card?

After PC on for a few days, gbpvr recordings have pixelated video and corrupt sound
Posted by: lchiu7 - 2005-09-20, 02:04 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

My setup is XP Pro SP2, Shuttle XPC with AMD Athlon 2000+ 512MB memory, Hauppauge PVR250 card. Release of gbpvr is the last release (sorry to be vague but can't remember the number)

This works most of the time. But I have noticed that after a few days of running (this PVR setup is on all the time), the following will occur in recordings

1. The video will have random pixelated patterns across it
2. The sound will have a constant pulsing audio overlaid over the audio track (though still listenable)

The only way out of this is to reboot. So I suspect possibly a memory leak occurring and/or possible bad memory? The PC does only two main tasks

1. Record TV shows at appropriate times
2. Wakeup each night to update the epg

I say bad memory because occasionally the PVR will lock up completely requiring a reboot but I only notice that when I go to use gbpvr and realise the machine is not responding at all

Any other ideas or has anybody experienced this problem?

Thanks

  irBlasting In New Zealand
Posted by: psycik - 2005-09-20, 01:15 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hi

If we can't use the Hauppauge blaster - I wish I could, life would be much simpler - the new Telstra Digital boxes are not known to the IrBlaster software.

What are the options here in NZ. I take it I can't waltz in to Dick Smiths and get a motherboard connected IrDA port: http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.storefr...iew/XH6458

Any options guys??
