  CyberLink decoder in GBPVR
Posted by: Beinar - 2005-09-13, 10:09 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (10)

Hello all GBPVR's!

Now I've searched this forum for a long time, but I can't find an answer for my problem. Sad

I've installed CyberLink PowerDVD and codecs for utilizing the mpeg2 hardware decoder on the VIA SP13000 MB. When I play back mpeg2 files in PowerDVD-player, the CPU-load is 10-20% (Before installing it was about 50-80 in windows media player & intervideo WinDVD), but when I use GBPVR as player, the CPU-load is 50-80%. I've set software decoder to Cyberlink Video/SP decoder (and audio), using Overlay (since the cyberlink codec didn't support VMR!?) not using FFDShow or deinterlacing. DirectX9.0b is installed (seen issues about 9.0c quartz.dll). It seems that GBPVR don't set the hardware acceleration for the cyberlink decoder, because when I disable this future in PowerDVD the CPU-load is about the same as in GBPVR.

Do anyone have some tips for this? Maybe have had the same issue and solved it?

  Any Pundit users?
Posted by: TylerK - 2005-09-13, 09:43 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Anyone out there use the origonal Pundit (not -R) with GB-PVR?

I use mine and a PVR-500, for the most part it works good but I was just wondering what anyone else uses for the playback settings and such. Also, what versions of the decoders...

  Extending IRBlaster Cable length
Posted by: tal56 - 2005-09-13, 09:06 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (3)

Hi guys, I've got a Haupage PVR-150 card with the IRblaster but where I place my pc is not right by the TV, so the cable for the IR receiver is at a weird location.

The IRblaster cable length is pretty long, but the IRReceiver cable is very short, is there anyway to extend this cable at all? I noticed it looks like a stereo headphone cable, can I just purchase a headphone cable extension and use that? Thanks

Thanks for staying out of Canada Tivo!
Posted by: bdgbill - 2005-09-13, 08:57 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (1)

What a long strange trip......

I started out with Tivo envy because it is not available in Canada. My only choice was a $500.00 box from the cable company that had been getting terrible reviews.

Looked into modding a Tivo to work in Canada - Way over my head. - Found a mention of Myth TV in the Tivo for Canada forums.

Looked into Myth Tv - Spent a month installing / learning linux - Made some progress but Myth TV was also over my head (my head is fairly low)

Found a mention of GBPVR in the Myth TV forums - Ahhhhhhhhhhh. Now I have a solution that is much better than what I was looking for originally.

I expect ebay to be flooded with Tivo's if they keep this up. Check out this article...

Nice that us GBPVR users don't have to worry about this stuff....um right Sub?

  Will auto-commercial cut be added?
Posted by: djdafreund - 2005-09-13, 07:37 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (2)

Is there any plans with upcoming versions, now that transcoding functionality has been recently added, that might allow auto-cutting out commercials when using transcode functions, and also possibly cutting out commercials if using MPEG-2 format (Non-transcode,'keep mpeg2' format)? That would be really nice.

I've gotten it to work 80% successfully with my motorolla digital cable box, but for some reason it will not enter the number 1. So i can go to any channel without the number 1 fine, eg. channel 2-9 33, 49 but when i go to 13 it only enters the 3. Anyone have this problem

!!History
v.38 2005-09-13 (Requires 94.8 or later)
*xsearch and xguide-fixed a conflict bug with 2 tuners. (Problem exists in gbpvr too) Occurs when you have two short shows
and you try to schedule a show that overlaps the two of them. It complains about conflict. Resolved.
*xrecord-updated skin to show buttons at the bottom
*xguide-now has watch. It also has a 5 minute fudge factor so you can switch to it 5 minutes before it starts.
*xguide-watch will not appear if there is a conflict.
*xguide and xsearch - multituner machines now show more up to 4 options in the conflict window.
*xrecord-attempted fix for watched section index out of bounds.

My Videos - Future version/update feature request.
Posted by: A_Brass - 2005-09-13, 04:01 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (13)

Reven, the next time you decide to update or revise the My Videos plugin, I wondered if you could add a little feature.

A while back I asked you how My Videos picked up its database info from recorded TV. As I understand it, when you activate My Videos after a recording has been made the database info is copied from the gbpvr.mdb to the mydatabase.mdb.

I was wondering if you could introduce a postprocessing.bat command that would cause the info to be coppied from one data base to the other without having to activate the actual plugin.

My reason for this request is due to gbpvr.mdb database couruption or loss. I have finally been able to get my wife to accept the PVR in the living room and My Videos is her goto plugin for any video playback. If the gbpvr.mdb data base gets compromised (because I sometimes run another GBPVR install as a client). Her show appears in MyVideos, but not the description.

This little thing would help me with the WAF. Belive it or not she actually was able to find a show, watch it and skip commericals without my intervention. SUCCESS!!

  Issues Still Remaining In 94.8
Posted by: CurtisMinBC - 2005-09-13, 04:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (12)

sub,

FYI, the issue regarding unchecking the channels in Capture Setup reappearing as checked still exists as well as the error with having the install program re-running after install when clicking on either GB-PVR or Config.
