OK everyone,
Perhaps someone is in the same boat as I am. For some time now my IPTV provider has been doing something crazy with their EPG data. I will have EPG data for all of my channels one day then the next day the EPG data for some channels will go missing. The only way to fix this is to delete my channels within NextPVR and re import the channels and EPG url's.
I have tried looking at the data within the db3 file and cannot see how to fix this.
I am hoping that someone might be able to figure this out from the logs. I have IPTV working fine under NextPVR V4 but it's not working at all until V5. OTA through HDHomerun is working correctly.
When trying to play a stream, I see a line like this.

Selecting the same channel using V4 works fine. Any ideas or configuration changes to try? The channel used for testing in both logs was "Weather Nation" if that makes it easier to locate.
EDIT: I should add that I deleted my IPTV credentials from the logs I uploaded. I'm assuming that this is acceptable, but please PM me if needed.
Running Windows 7 pro and version 4. For some reason I can't see the whole display when I load NEXTPVR. If I select an item to record, it only shows down to some of the time settings, and I have to guess where the OK button is. (I assume it's an OK button, I can't see it)
I have 3 tv tuners, all using OTA signals. NPVR 4.2.4 has been stopping recordings early every now and then. Though I use Kodi to watch recordings, I schedule all recordings using only NPVR. Last night, only one show was scheduled to record for an 60 minutes plus 2 minutes for pre and 2 for post-padding (recurring recording). The show recording appears to have started on time, however only 50:39 was actually recorded. Could someone tell me what's going wrong, please. Log files are attached.
I've been using NPVR for about a year now and it has been humming along great. I have a windows 10 machine running 24x7 hosting NPVR (among other things) and I connect to NPVR via the iOS app, Kodi Plugin, and also the web server (http://my.ip.address:8866/modern/guide.html) Within the last 2 weeks or so, all external access (inside and outside the network) stopped working. Fortunately, recordings are still happening, but I can't access NPVR from iOS, Kodi, or Web. I can only access NPVR from the windows machine hosting the service. (I use TeamViewer to remote into the machine, open NextPVR and interact with the service there.) I recently upgraded to 4.2.5 as an attempt to fix but it wasn't successful. I've temporarily turned off the firewall to see if windows was blocking the port but that didn't work either. Additionally, I've tried http://localhost:8866/modern/guide.html on the hosting machine and it did not resolve. I've searched through the forums without any luck. I appreciate any help you provide. Has anyone encountered that the latest release looks at the tvg-name rather than the group-title when creating groups and overloads the group list in the "channels" page? Or is the m3u snip below not typical of what NextPvr is expecting to see? The bottom of my channels page looks like THIS. Doesn't show US groups anymore, normally near the bottom of the list. I can provide the m3u file if for comparison if needed.
Greetings everyone! After 12 long years, it is finally time to re-introduce the HTPC to my home. Much has changed since the last time I used a PVR app (then known as GBPVR) but sadly, OTA broadcasts in the US aren't among them. They are literally the exact f'ing same as they were in 2007! And while we now have more options for media consumption, local channels seem to have been left behind as a commodity for which we in the US are mostly expected to pay. Thankfully, I purchased a home that is ~12 miles from the nearest ATSC transmission point which means I am able to receive strong antenna broadcasts of all four major networks and PBS.
With PlayStation Vue kicking us to the curb in January, I've been forced to seek out broadcast Television alternatives. As you'd expect, this also includes the ability to record and playback TV whenever it suits our schedule. To say I was excited at the opportunity of building an HTPC is an understatement, and frankly, I can't think of another product that I would rather have than GBPVR, or NPVR as it is now known.
With that being said, I have a few questions. I've been out of this arena for quite some time and am admittedly way behind in my HTPC knowledge. Thanks in advance for your feedback.
I plan to use an HDHomeRun Quatro to capture, stream, and record OTA broadcasts. If there are better alternatives, please let me know.
It appears that Schedules Direct is the best source for Channel Guide information in the US. Am I correct or are there any other options?
NPVR v4 seems to be the current "stable" version whereas v5 is the new hotness. I'm open to v5 as long as the WAF can remain high. Thoughts?
Now that we have other options for base OS, should I stick to Windows or is Linux, for example, a better option to build upon?
Can NPVR be virtualized? I have an entire ESXi ecosystem at my disposal and would rather use it for the obvious flexibility.
Speaking of flexibility, can NAS storage be utilized for recordings or is local storage still the best? (A NAS hadn't even been invented the last time I used GBPVR/NPVR.)
Having failed to get my 5.0 set up running which picks up the HDHR perfectly whilst having some playback issues I cant get 4 to show the HDHR as a tuner device.
I have searched the Wiki google and the search on this forum but not found anything.
Is there something i need to flag/install to make it find it?
For a while (going back to v4 and I'm pretty sure X-NEWA), we would occasionally (a couple of times a week, maybe) have an issue where when we'd start a show playing, the player seems to be put in the background and the Recording list continues to display. (You can hear the video playing, but not see it.) Pressing buttons (like the arrows, the stop, etc.) affect both the Recording list and the playing video in the background. If I exit out of knewc back to the Kodi main menu, then I see the video playing in the background.
It may be coincidence, but since the upgrade to the latest Nextpvr v5 version yesterday morning, I've had it happen multiple times. For the latest, I captured logs. Kodi's been running for a while, so the kodi log is very large. I put it in the folder with the NextPVR logs. You can download them here:
