Okay i'm using the 150 with the irblaster on a hughes sat. receiver. if i run through the Hauppauge config tool the box works fine and follows commands. But after 30 minutes or so, the channel will not change. the remote still works, but it will not send a signal to change the channel in gbpvr. if i use the wintv it will send the signal to change. but to get it to work in gb-pvr, i have to rerun the config tool.
I'm using GB-PVR with a pvr-250. I've tried the default settings for medium and high quality with football games, but it's still a little grainy, and when things like kickoffs or passes happen, it's just not very smooth.
If I increase the bitrate in the high quality setting and make it consistent will this help?
Does anyone know of good settings for recording sporting events in GB-PVR?
mas0nite had an interesting wish for IP-TV support in GB-PVR. Personally I would really love that, but my question is - Is it even theoretically possible? Does anyone know if there is an IP-TV standard (I'm thinking someting like DVB-I)? If there is such a standard, would it be possible to write a BDA driver for it? How would you descramble the signal?
Basically, I'm asking because it is my only hope of ever getting digital TV without an extra decoder box (since UPC here in Sweden won't make it possible to use a standard DVB-C card...).
I've had a problem with 7-8 channels not having any data in the EPG. I'm using the Zap2It plugin. I have used XMLTV to download the listings from Zap2It and verified that there is data for those channels in what is returned. I've tried deleting the capture sources and recreating them, and switching to the XMLTV plugin, but neither has helped. What else can I do to get the EPG data to show up? It does not appear that there is anything interesting in any of the logs.
I use the default setting for Low Quality Recordling (which is 352X480 NTSC) but when I look at the recording's properties with Windows Media Reader, it still say 720X480. Is this a known limitation with the ATI Theater PRO?
Also, I would like to know who to use the Custom quality recording settings?
I'd like to have a way to organize movies on my hd. I have a mix of mpeg2, Divx (Xvid) and iso movies, so I guess VideoArchiver can't help me yet. And also earlier version of the built in VideoLibrary could only handle mpeg2 and did not have a search function (I think it can't do searching yet?)
Currently I use Xrecord and export everything into .dat files, so a first idea would be that it could be able to spider (on request and periodically) my file system for .dat files and incorporate that info into the database.
Secondly I would like to be able to search the database, and then play found files (including .iso, which I think Xrecord currently don't handle).
Not sure what I would like to search for, but I guess a combination of the information currently found in .dat files and imdb would be a good start.
Have been successfully using a USB-UIRT for many months. Then decided to upgrade to the latest gbpvr. That didn't go well so I deleted it and reinstalled the earlier version and put back the gbpvr.mdb and config.xml files I had saved.
Now my USB-UIRT doesn't work. These are the scenarios
1. When I select New device and the application asks to press --1-- key etc. The USB-UIRT doesn't respond at all. There is no light reflecting back from the device and the learning times out
2. I unplug the USB-UIRT and put it back. Now it responds to the remote control but gbpvr pops up a dialogue box message (words to this effect Timeout Waiting for UIR Thread. Click that dialogue box away and it seems that the key press has been learnt but it hasn't. This repeats for all numbers. I can save the result but in reality nothing has been saved at all.
I have even tried removing the USB-UIRT and reinstalling the drivers but that doesn't help either.
Anybody seen this message before and if so, what did you do?
As a last measure I have deleted the entire gbpvr installation (presumbly it clears out all registry entries) and reinstalled. Same problem - cannot get it to sense the USB-UIRT
Interestingly if I aim the remote at the USB-UIRT it responds okay (that is I can see if sensing the IR commands and sending them out). But as soon as I click learn new device and it pops up the message press -1- then it no longer responds to my remote
This is really bugging me since now I have no ability to change the channel automatically

I would love the manual recording simplified. I would love to be able to just click on the various settings with the mouse instead of using the keyboard up and down. I would also like to be able to change the default. Most stuff I would like to record isn't 2 hours. Thanks for listening to my rants.
