  Simple One Touch Recording
Posted by: Jppoulin - 2005-08-25, 05:09 AM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (8)

I like to record stuff through external tuner. IE Camcorder, etc. I would like the simple feature of a one-touch button to begin default recordings and not have to start a scheduled time, quality or record type etc. It would just begin recording at the default quality (a configurable default because I prefer High Quality) and just push stop when we want.

  MVP cannot connect without MVPMediaSvc
Posted by: venger - 2005-08-25, 04:45 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (17)

Yikes Sad

When I have both MVPMedia and MVPMediaSvc disabled and stopped,
(1) > 5 min to "connect to servers"
(2) black/blank screen when starting playback of tv recordings

When I have just MVPMediaSvc enabled and running,
(1) no black/blank screen - playback starts OK
(2) I can fast fwd OK
(3) But I can't skip 3 minutes forward - when I do this, the screen goes black/blank.

My setup:
(1) the latest beta version of MVP installed
(2) gbpvr 09310 installed

Have I missed something in my set up?

  Zap2it not that reliable?
Posted by: psykoalby - 2005-08-25, 04:12 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

I remember reading a list of the most reliable TV guide providers but I'm not sure where Zap2it stood on that list. But IMO, it ranks near the bottom of the list. I've been getting a lot of wrong scheduled shows in the guide. It lists the wrong episodes sometimes and even the wrong shows. For instance, I noticed that on the FX channel, "Over There" and the other shows are actually playing in opposite timeslots contrary to what the guide shows. There's more instances of this problem in other occasions.

Is this just a problem with my guide or what?

  MuxChecker Fails....
Posted by: robplatt - 2005-08-25, 04:07 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

NO MULTIPLEXER FILTERS WHERE FOUND ON YOUR MACHINE.

GB-PVR will not function correctly.

At least thats what it says. GBPVR works fine for me. I have a load of multiplexers in my bda multiplexer list. currently using happauge mpeg2 and it seems to be working. if i change it to ms dvr-ms, the playback gets jerky i think once in awhile. i havnt tried them all. figured i had a hauppauge card, the hauppauge muxer would be a good candidate.

point is. the checker says none installed.

  ATI THEATER 550, composite help
Posted by: jaydoog - 2005-08-25, 12:38 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I know that gb-pvr will do a composite signal, and that the ati theater 550 has a composite in, but I can't figure out how to view the composite signal. I would like to be able to hook up my ps2. I'd be happy if anyone had some ideas.

  Looking for "My Pictures" Plugin
Posted by: bdgbill - 2005-08-25, 12:16 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Anyone know where I can find the current version of the My Pictures Plugin?

There is no mention of this plugin in the wiki. I found a link to the beta file in the forums but it says you should install the current version first.

Thanks

Skin in progress - what are the most common Plugins??
Posted by: dazzyb2k3 - 2005-08-24, 10:50 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (8)

Hi Guys,

After being motivated by the recent push to make our app prettier i've started work on my new skin. I'm no graphic artist but I know what looks 'right' and i'm concentrating on continuity throughout the app. Sometimes it feels like the GBPVR interface is a little disjointed so im trying to standardise on colours, button positions, sizes, icons and dialogs throughout all my plugins so the whole thing feels intuitive, complete and 'seamless'. This is turning out to be a complete rework from the ground up but should be worth it in the end.

I was just wondering what the most common plugins among users are so I can integrate them into the project?

Currently i'm doing all the inbuilt functions along with My Videos, My Music, My Pictures, Weather and Xplorer. These are the plugins I personally use so they will obviously take priority but if there are any other popular ones I might consider it.

Don't expect instant results though, I reckon i'm at least a month away from anything usable :o

If you're really nice I might be back with a screenshot after the weekend lol

  Commandline Parameter -UpdateEPGOnly
Posted by: Cape-City - 2005-08-24, 10:00 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

the -UpdateEPGOnly Parameter didn`t work. When I use the -UpdateEPG
Parameter, the Program starts after updating and didn`t close down.

I`m using WebEPG to get the EPG Data and my Script ist waiting for GVPVR.EXE
to close down, that the machine can go to hibernate.

Is there another trick to update the EPG Data within GB-PVR without having
the program startet after updating ?

...

Found it, it must be named -OnlyUpdateEPG ... Smile

  Audio synch on recording playback
Posted by: kaiger - 2005-08-24, 09:53 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I apologize if this has been covered before. I searched, but couldn't find anything. I upgraded to 93.10 a few days ago and thought all went well until I tried playing back a recorded show. The audio is about 1-1.5 seconds ahead of the video. I initially thought it was a recording problem, but the files play fine on my laptop or with another player on the HTPC. I was successfully using ffdshow with the previous release, but I turned it off trying to troubleshoot this and it had no effect. I tried a reinstall, first just overwriting my old files, then deleting and doing a clean install with both 93.10 and 93.10b and neither helped. I'm running an AMD 2600+ with 1.25gb RAM on XP Pro, GeForce FX 5500 and Turtle Beach riviera sound card. Any ideas?
thanks
