No video or audio in LiveTV
Posted by: depjones - 2005-08-23, 09:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I dl'd and configured gbpvr tonight (or this morning), and everything is working fine except for the LiveTV module which initially gave me the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" error. I tried using the nvida (trial) decoder and the intervideo with the same results. The best I could get was with to set deinterlacing to "encoder pass through", and then i just got a black screen. I then changed the playback to Overlay manager, and now I get a black screen with the controls that pop-up for changing channels. Like I said everything else seems to work fine. Recording, playback and guide work great.

I am using a pinnacle pctv deluxe on a machine running a 2.4g P4 w/512mb ram and an asus radeon 9600se 128mb video card.

Thanks for reading, and thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

  To Hauppauge MediaMVP Users

Thought this might be of interest. No sure if it will benefit those using GBpvr but it seems likely. It is a firmware rewrite for MediaMVP

How to disable framerate number in upper right of tv screen
Posted by: grandmasterk - 2005-08-23, 05:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi All,

I'm using GBPVR v0.93.10. It runs great except for one thing:

There is a yellow number in the upper right of the tv display box that usually says "30." I'm guessing it's the frame rate display. I want to turn off the number since it is distracting.

I did a search in the forum framerate display, number and haven[t found anything about this.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

  Error 1606...
Posted by: Psychotech - 2005-08-23, 05:08 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

I tried searching for this in other threads with no luck, so here goes.

I just tried to install GB-PVR v9.310 and received the following error...

Error 1606 Could not access network location
%USERPROFILE%\Favorites\

The install backs out and quits. I then tried using v9.211 and got the same error. All of my user profiles contain a favorites folder.

Any fixes or workarounds?

Thanks.

  Hauppage 250 not tuning
Posted by: rsmits - 2005-08-23, 05:00 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

My set up has a Windows XP box that is running Win2000 just fine. I can see all the channels, detect them, etc.

Although I have done everything I can think of in config, all I get is bars and lines, like it is tuned off channel.

I didn't realize gbpvr would go into config upon installation. I was watching a program with WinTV2000 at the time, and with the input to the winPVR250 set to only one channel, 3. When the install started to look at all the channels available, it took me a moment to turn off WinTV2000 and to switch the tuner input back to the cable system.

Since then I can't get GBPVR to reconfigure itself to recognoize all the channels properly. I live in Canada, and have the source configured to the PVR250, Canada, and Cable. The tuning wizard can't seem to find all my channels, either, although it seems to find some at the high end.

I've tried uninstalling, deleting all the files, etc, to no avail. I suspect there is a configuration file somewhere on the system that needs to be deleted.

Anyone have any ideas here?

My Programs- Setting up individual ROMS
Posted by: NUman00 - 2005-08-23, 04:32 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

First of all, mad props to Reven for making so many great GB-PVR plugins. So here is my problem. I have a bunch of SNES roms that I want to use on my PVR box. I want to use the SNES9x Emulator since it is friendly with accepting remote commands. In the documentation, I'm a little confused with how to get each ROM to launch individually from GB-PVR into SNES9x, particularly how I should set up the Arguments. Here is my config verbatim.

Name: Super Nintendo

Executable: C:\Emulators\SNES\snes9x\snes9x.exe

ROM path: C:\Emulators\SNES\ROMS

Arguments:

Extensions: smc

Thanks in Advance

WinTV pvr USB2 or WinTV 500?
Posted by: pcostanza - 2005-08-23, 02:42 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I have the PVR 350 and want to be able to record 2 shows at the same time so, I'm looking at getting the USB2 or, ditching my 1 year old 350 for a 500.
Opinions please--it's not a money issue though I'd like to spend as little as possible. Dell has the 500 for $131..not too bad. But I have so many devices on my USB chain as it is now and 1 is a USB hard drive.
My main concern is possible heat. Does the 500 put out that much heat to make a major difference? Will I have possible problems with using both a USB capture with the 350 and be better off with just the 500?
Enough rambling----I look forward to your suggestions.

Paul

MovieTrack - a handy little movie database
Posted by: groover km - 2005-08-23, 12:44 AM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (5)

For those of us that aren't programmers, I found this rather neat little app for managing all your movies - mpgs, avi's, dvd's, etc.

Every so often I will purge my HD and transfer the movies I want to keep to DVD; so - I guess like most of us - the end result is we've got cases and cases of the bloody things, and I can never find anything. I entered about 150 DVDs into this app in about 30-40mins, including pulling all the info from imdb.com.

Thought I'd post a link here in case anyone finds it useful...

Cheers!
