  Hibernation Trouble
Posted by: gmorse - 2005-08-15, 07:59 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Since installing 93.10 I've had a strange hibernation problem. My system has no problem waking up and going to sleep during the day before and after recordings, but every morning I find the computer running and I have to manually put it back to bed. I'm wondering if there's a process during the EPG update that's remaining in memory causing it to not hibernate. I didn't have this problem with the previous version and was wondering if anyone else had the same issue?

  MPEG2 question
Posted by: erik - 2005-08-15, 06:08 PM - Forum: Developers - Replies (1)

Hi,

I have extended comskip with sound processing.
To do this I hacked the mpeg2 audio decoder from libavcodec into the ps demux of libmpeg2. And yes, it may have been easier to use libavcodec also for the video part but libavcodec is only compilable with gcc and I am using vc++ and I could not find a libavcodec.lib readily build.

Now I have a strange "problem"
I use a test stream with interlaced video of 25fps and stereo sound with 48khz samplerate
When I do the math then I should use samplerate*2(stereo)/fps samples per "audio frame" to match the timing of a video frame
However this gives me an audio "framerate" that is exactly 2/3 of the video frame rate.
When I multiply the calculated samples per frame with 2/3 then audio and video match exactly. (comskip is now indeed able to discard the black frames that have sound)

Where do I make a mistake in my calculations????????

Is there anyone that can upload a short (200 MByte) NTSC recording to my ftp server so I can test the NTSC framerate?
Preferrably with show with logo, then commercials, and then again show with logo

  MVP and HD
Posted by: beefmasterj - 2005-08-15, 06:06 PM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (9)

I'm thinking about getting a HD capture card, but was first wondering ..

Is is possable to play back OTA HD content recorded using the new 0.93.10 over the MVP?

Obviously I know the MVP doesn't support displaying in HD, but is it even able to handle the higher resolution / higher bitrate files generated by recording / viewing HD. I guess on the same note, the network speed could also be a limiting factor depending on the size of the files ?

Thanks!

  Recording Service Log fills with SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
Posted by: GoodGuys - 2005-08-15, 06:06 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi,

I just noticed that my recording service logfile started filling up big-time.
It is full of lines like this:

Quote:8/15/2005 8:53:30 PM.078 VERBOSE [47] RecordingFactory.loadSchedule()
8/15/2005 8:53:31 PM.937 VERBOSE [69] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
8/15/2005 8:53:33 PM.937 VERBOSE [69] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
8/15/2005 8:53:35 PM.937 VERBOSE [69] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
8/15/2005 8:53:37 PM.937 VERBOSE [69] SourceConfigurationContainer.LoadAll()
The only thing I changed was to download the nVidia PureVideo MPEG decoder trial and tell GBPVR to use it instead of the previous InterVideo NonCSS for Hauppauge I was using.
I tried to restart the recording service - looks like a normal restart, with these lines starting to appear at the bottom.
I tried to revert to the old InterVideo codecs - still appearing.
Anyone have an idea?
P.S. This is still 0.92.11. I've seen many hickups with installs of the newer version, so I decided to wait some more - sorry - my end-users get quite loud when they don't get their TV like they are used to...
Thanks,
GGF

  Automatic- convert to xvid while removing commercials
Posted by: AcidSun - 2005-08-15, 05:42 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (2)

is there an automated way to covert to xvid and remove commercials on a schedule..IE from 3am-10am it will process as many files as it can..convert them and delete the old ones.

Will these files still showup on the frontend as recorded tv or will they have to be moved to a "video" archive?

  Two Nova-t cards?
Posted by: shaamone - 2005-08-15, 02:44 PM - Forum: Hardware - No Replies

Is it possible?

I'm currently using a VIA M10000 with a PVR-250 and after some driver messing it all seems to be working well.

Would I be causing myself a headache by getting rid of my PVR-250 and using two Nova-t usb boards?

  Remote not working after upgrade
Posted by: Larsh - 2005-08-15, 02:14 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (5)

After upgrading from 9211 to 9310 my remote doesn't work when the GB-PVR window looses focus. It worked before and I don't see what the problem is.
Is this 'Murphy in da house' or are there others who are experiencing the same ?

Regards,
Larsh

I'm using a Hauppage PVR-350 with a grey, 45 button, remote.
In GB-PVR Configuration I use Remote Control Type: Default (Hauppage) and I clicked "Fix Hauppage Remote settings (45 button remote)". Restarted IR.exe and even rebooted.
Also:
Copied back my original IrRemote.ini, restart IR.exe and rebooted.
Non of the above had any effect.

  Skinning Question - Search Guide
Posted by: dazzyb2k3 - 2005-08-15, 01:54 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

Following the current trend of attampting to make GBPVR a little prettier I've started working on a new skin. It's my first attempt and seems to be going pretty well up until now and am looking forward to posting the results.

However, I was wondering if it's possible to reposition/recolour the black panels in the 'Search Guide' page. I can't find them in the xml and have a worrying feeling they are probably hard coded. Could someone please clarify this as if i can't move/colour them then i'll have to rethink the design.

Also, so I know what to work around in the future, are there any other panels which can't be changed?

It would be a shame if there are as it means there will always be tell tale signs of the 'old' GBPVR and makes a complete 'theme' out of the question.

Thanks

  MyPrograms ...... an idea to switch to MVP software
Posted by: Benz - 2005-08-15, 12:16 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (3)

Although I love the look and feel and extensibility of GBPVR does not always behave the way I want it to... and sometimes I revert to the old faithful MVP software.

What i was thinking of doing was to use the MyPrograms plugin to run something (a batch file perhaps?) that will stop the GBPVR service and start the MVP services on my PC. I would then (somehow) be able to start up the MVP software. Not sure if this would this need a 'soft' reboot of MVP from the remote or a 'hard' reboot by powering down the MVP?

As this would not be modifying the start up behaviour of the services on the PC at the next PC reboot the GBPVR service and software would start.

What I want to know (before I start messing about) is has anyone done anything similar or is there any reason why this would not work?

Also has anyone got ideas on a way to switch back from MVP software to GBPVR without rebooting or accessing the PC?

  Can't change default recording quality
Posted by: blader_se - 2005-08-15, 08:52 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Just a minor issue that I think came with 92.11.

The default recording quality will no always be "Medium" regardless of what I try to set in the Recording source configuration.

When going back into the configuration pop-up, it shows that it still is "Medium"

Workaround: Setting the recording quality specificaly for each show I record.

A curiosity, when deselecting "use ffdshow if installed" I only get sound and a black screen (with osd) why?
