That "No Tuners are available with the requested Channel" message again
Posted by: jksmurf - 2005-08-13, 07:49 AM - Forum: MVP & NMT - Replies (2)

Hi,

GBPVR works GREAT on my PC. I can watch LIVETV, change channels, no problem.

I get the GBPVR MENU on my TV, via the MPV. No Problem.

BUT trying to watch liveTV simply throws up the "No Tuners are available with the requested Channel" message.

1. I have disabled the two Hauppage Services.
2. I don't have GBPVR running on the PC, but the recording service is in the tray (not recording)3.
3. I have set the # of MPV servers in the GBPVR config set to "1", and I do not have the recording service duplicated in the Startup.

There must be something SIMPLE, surely, that I am doing wrong?
Any ideas?

Cheers,

k.

Can't install anything newer than 09211
Posted by: mobiusnz - 2005-08-13, 07:37 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (43)

I have a problem where I can't install any release or pre-release newer than 09211. Is there anything different in the install process SUB? Basically it looks like its completed the install and just before it would normally display the message about using a Hauppauge Remote it rolls back the install and complains of an error (non-discript error message - Fatal Error I think it was). I have uninstalled 09211 - removed the devnz directory - rebooted and it still fails the same way - and yet 09211 installs ok everytime.

Any help on this GREATLY appreciated. The main feature I want to get is the export/import recordings so in future playing around I can Backup my recording list as I have quite a few "orphaned" recordings from prior fresh installs / pc changes.

  Nice background for a skin
Posted by: mobiusnz - 2005-08-13, 06:48 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I have to say this is the nicest background I've seen for a long time. I'm using it as my windows desktop (A higher res version) and my Background for the Blue Skin. It looks REALLY nice on a TV (nice contrast) and it's great as a desktop background if you are like me and have LOTS of desktop shortcuts etc as its dark enough for the icons to standout. I got it from a desktop wallpaper site somewhere - didn't seem to have any copyright info anywhere?

Auto Deletion of MPEG After Conv>AVI w/Mencoder
Posted by: af_snowboarder01 - 2005-08-13, 06:25 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (1)

I was wondering if there was a way to do this so I could free up some disc space automatically (my current HDD is a measly 33GB, till I can find a good deal on a 320GB; I use my xbox to store/view them in XBMC, and it has a 200GB HDD). I assumed the postprocessing.bat was copied into the dir where the video ended, but when I tried adding some code (to move the avi to a temp folder, delete the current dir, and move the avi back and delete the temp folder) it ended up deleting the main dir for GBPVR . Anyone know of a simple way to do this? C+ is more of my fortay than DOS commands...

DVB-T wont detect channels when scanning
Posted by: snickkers - 2005-08-13, 06:13 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

I'm using a VideoMate Compro T300 card (which is a DVB-T card using BDA drivers).

I've gotten to the point in configuring Sources where you map broadcast channels to the EPG channels. It scans through 51 channels, and finds nothing.

I'm in Australia, if this helps.

My sanity checks: I've used graphedit, as I've seen suggested, and my BDA.ini looks accurate. If I select a tuner card in the BDA list *other* than T300 (for example, T200) I get a nasty error about being unable to find the tuner card - so this leads me to believe that I've got the right card selected, and BDA.ini is fine.

A friend of mine uses SageTV at home, and I copied his xmltv.xml file just to set up my EPG channel listing (I figure I'll sort out xmltv later once this problem has been ironed out. For now, all I need is the channel info, doesnt matter if the programme listing is a little out of date).

Also, I've updated my tuner card driver just yesterday to the latest one available (something.something.something.23 [my card shipped with x.x.x.22])

Also, I've installed the software that shipped with my card, and -that- detects the digital channels no problem at all (so, it's no antenna problem).

Also, I'm using Windows XP media centre edition 2005. However, I assure you I'm not running the "media centre" program before GBPVR, so I dont *think* that's the problem. Besides, if that were the problem, I guess the software that came with the tuner card wouldnt work either - and that works fine.

Not sure what other information to include in this post, I hope someone out there is able to help me (and since GBPVR is made by a crew in new zealand, I'm thinking there should be pretty good support for aussie reception)

  Acesssing the ratDVD tagging data
Posted by: reven - 2005-08-13, 04:26 AM - Forum: Developers - No Replies

since gbpvr now supports ratdvds i suppose we should take advantage of the tagging data, however i have no idea how to do this. theres a taglib of sorts which can be found here
http://www.ratdvd.dk/downloads/RATtag.zip
however, its not the usual dll (well not one ive seen) where you just add a reference to it in you .net app and away you go. it talks about a COM Server blah blah blah, know idea what that is. so i was hoping that someone with a little bit more experience here could help me out (well help the video plugin developers out, so we can all take advantage of this), and make sense of this.
