I am getting a cloudy image when watching TV, whether it is live or time captured. This happens on all channels. Colors are not very vivid and it appears like you are looking through smoke at the image. The image quality appears to be real good but the colors seem muffled.
In another thread it was mentioned that rewind doesn't really work right now. Is there any way to change left and right to skip instead of FF/RW? Even better, is it possible for repeated presses of skip forward/reverse to increase the rate at which it skips?

Somehow when I play something from my video library GBPVR loses focus and the remote stops responding. If i pull out my mouse and click it gets focus and the remote starts working again.
I noticed that I've been recording doubles of a few shows, usually shows from cable stations that repeat programming every 3-4 hours.
I looked in the web admin and it shows that it's a season recording but the time slot is like 4 hours wide. Is there a way to edit this to tighten it up? I've tried deleting the recording and re-adding the season and it comes back the same.
If I delete the scheduled recording and then do a quick record it just records the half hour show.
The worst part is it's not consistant, most of them shows work fine,it just seems like some shows that repeat within a few hours trigger this 4 hour window.

Any ideas on how to stop this or how to edit the recordings?
I just found your site a short while ago and have done some reading here in the forums. I'm currently using Mythtv but it has not been an easy ride. Myth is very nice with lots of features, but after finally getting most everything up and running, I ran into a major problem with video freezing, a slew of errors. So....
I took a look at your screen shots and wow, very nice. I aplogize for another 'can it do this' post but I need to replace my current box with something else ASAP. My hardware is compatbile BTW.
1. ability or record shows with auto commercial flagging/skipping. (allow me to skip commercials)
2. play DVD's from the hard drive using the gbpvr menu and control them w/a PVR-250 remote
3. allow you to edit and remove commercials out of recorded programs within gbpvr itself
4. control an external dtv reciever with an ir-blaster
5. search feature for tv shows
6. handles reruns and keeps from recording shows you alread have set to record or have recorded
7. is there a plugin that allows you to access Mame and roms with the gbpvr menu
8. last but certainly not least, how is the stability? are their problems with live tv freezing or jerky or bad quality (I have a pvr-250 and new nvidia with s-video out) . Does gbpvr lose recorded shows or miss shows from time to time? What about recorded video, is the quality good only with certain hardware?
Like all releases, I recommend you backup your config.xml and gbpvr.mdb in case of any unexpected upgrade problems.
You'll need to switch to the standard blue skin to give the skin owners a chance to update their skins for compatibility with the new build.

- Added support for ratDVD when using VMR7/VMR9/Overlay. You use this you need to download ratDVD from http://www.ratdvd.dk/. Older versions of ratDVD didnt support VMR, so make sure your running a very recent one.
- Removing a capture source will no longer remove completed recordings from the database. Pending recordings that are associated with the capture source will still be removed.
- Fixed a bug with pressing skip on the last track of an audio play list. It would restart the last song, instead of stopping playback
- Added initial support for HDTV (ATSC). Its pretty manual, with no channel scanning facilities, but if you know the physical/major/minor number for each of your channels then you can manually configure them. This has only been lightly tested against a FusionHDTV Gold-T, but should also work with other cards if they have BDA compliant drivers. To record you need to have an MPEG2 multiplexer filter. GB-PVR supports the Cyberlink, ShowShifter, Intervideo and Microsoft DVR-MS multiplexer filters.
- Now able to cope with non-numeric channel numbers from zap2it, like those used for some satellite lineups.
- You can now configure the number of days of zap2it EPG information the app will try to retain.

** dont use the 'Hauppauge WinTV Muxer' mux option until you get the OK from me. Hauppauge need to make a change to their software, and have said they will, so it'll only be able work when some future Hauppauge software is installed.
As some of you may have noticed I have made an error in the blackframe detection as of version 0.70 leading to much worse performance with noisy signals.
This is now corrected.
SA 0.52 is becoming very good. The aditional info Jere extracts from the audio does help and I am not able to test the CC functions because there is no CC in Europe.
So if I had to advice what to use for USA/Canada and you do not mind paying the $10 to Jere I would suggest SA.
But if you object to paying and don't mind the more complex tuning or you live in Europe then Comskip may be the right choise (as least it still works better for me).
As soon as Jere adds aspect ratio processing I may change my mind .
However, do NEVER expect any decent results from either Comskip or SA for very long films with dark scenes without logo (as being broadcast on the BBC)

its been a long time since I had time to update my GBPVR, and I can see from the forum that alot has happened. I have tried to get a grasp on what is new and what to install, but I lost track and messed things up. Would therefore like to uninstall everything and start from scratch.
My question:
What, and in what order should I install GBPVR plugins and other programs in order to get my system to:
1. record shows and remove the commercials automatically
2. arrange my photos and music
3. get the computer to automatically update the EPG using o2 to grab information in XML (I am not a programmer at all, but can manage to follow instructions when it comes to changing parameters etc.)
4. view my email account on my TV (that would be really cool)
I would be ever so gratefull if any of you brains out there could help me get the perfect system
Working on a new plugin and having a problem. I am having a bit of trouble playing a shoutcast audio stream.
I am able to connect to the stream and pull down the data. From there I write the data to a file as I receive it. This is all working great. The problem I am having is getting GVPRV to play the file while I am still writing to it. The way I open the file for writing in my code is fine. I can test this by using an outside player to play the file while I am still writing to it from GBPVR. But if I try to play it with:
PluginHelperFactory.getPluginHelper().PlayAudioFile("filename");
The file does not play. Once I stop writing to the file, GBPVR will play it just fine.
Does PlayAudioFile() require exclusive access or is there something I am missing? I know GBPVR can play a file that is being written to because the built in net radio does this.
