  My Messenger Plugin
Posted by: reven - 2005-07-25, 11:33 AM - Forum: Developers - Replies (19)

i just want to let everyone know ive been working on a msn plugin, "My Messenger" (original title, no? Tongue). Anyway its still early days, so far all you can do is basic chat with your online buddies (it shows them only as online/offline at the moment) you can recieve/deny files from them, and thats basically it. the chat interface is much better than mediaportal (well IMHO). but anyway the reason for this thread is i need some help finding images, like a want to display an animation when you logon, similar (or the exact same animation) msn messenger shows when you sign on (those two buddies rotating around), also i need some help finding large buddy icons (hopefully png or gif, ie transparent). and im kind of interested if anyone else is interested in this plugin (video/voice chat will be along way away, if ever, at the moment i just doing basic text chat, so not really designed for MVP users, ie you need a keyboard). ill release some screenshots soon, just I NEED SOME GRAPHICS! Smile (oh and if you want to design some, good ones not crappy onesSmile feel free).

Dualview - Getting 1/2 a TV pic on the comp monitor
Posted by: Dave72 - 2005-07-25, 11:29 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (2)

Hi all.

Im running a sat tuner card (Nexus/dvb) in hardware mode and looping the output into a PVR-150 as LiveTV for GB-PVR. My video card (fx5600) has a secondary output that Im feeding to my TV, and Im running it in Dualview mode. I want to multitask the comp so that we can use GB in the living room while using the comp for other things. (Ill deal with the audio by putting a USB sound card in once I get over this problem..)

The problem seems to be, that whenever I try to make GB run as full screen in the TV output, the computer monitor also switches to full screen mode but I only get 1/2 a pic (the left half).

When it does this, I can get the GB timeshift OSD menu on the computer, so it seems to be the GB pic on here as opposed to the dvb app (RitzDVB) itself (which I just have minimized to the taskbar).

ON another note: (not to hijack my own thread.. lol), I realize I cant control the dvb card itself (no bda drivers), but it sure would be nice to be able to grab the pic stream directly and output it thru GB. Having to push the stream into a PVR-150 to make it mpeg then using software mode to push it back out of mpeg makes for a cpu hit of course (about 30-40% on a 2.1Ghz amd). It would be nice to run the dvb app as a seperate process, and then have GB pick up the stream somehow, internally ??

GBPVR.exe not running - need help
Posted by: garetmax - 2005-07-25, 09:24 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I don't know what happened but while I was recording a show, I tried to open GB-PVR but it never came up. GB-PVR won't run for me at all now. I turned off all plugins except TV to try to find the problem but that didn't help.

Here's my logs. I split up the config.xml because of the size contraint. There's an error in there, but I don't know what its pointing to or how to fix my problem.

Thanks

  No Live TV
Posted by: Mark Adams - 2005-07-25, 09:05 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Just installed fresh after a hard drive problem. Now I can't watch Live TV. All I see is a black screen and I get no sound. After a few seconds the OSD appears and the black fades back to the menu. I know everything is connected because WinTV2000 works just fine.

How can I troubleshoot this?

Thanks.

[Edit]
NEVERMIND!

It turned out to be a config. "Ooops" on my part. Sorry to bother you folks.

Mark

Not sure how to use fastfind 'advanced'?
Posted by: jonmck - 2005-07-25, 07:59 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (4)

I can see that when I go to advanced in the fastfind plugin, it seems to allow you to set gbpvr to record all shows called 'Sonic', or whatever.

But I cannot seem to get it to work - nothing shows up in the 'pending' section,

and when I have set it it does not record what I want it to

I have cdkschedule, fastfind, guide2J, and priorityrecordingssample 2 in my plugins folder.

Can someone advise me or point me to a manual?

Thanks a lot Smile

  Overwriting previous recordings
Posted by: cameraman - 2005-07-25, 06:54 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Sub:

Got a problem with scheduled recurring programs. The app seems to overwrite the previous episodes with the newer ones and replaces the filenames with the correct ones. I have the option set to keep all recordings so I'm not sure what kind of problem I am dealing with. Any thoughts (let me know what logs I need to kick over)? I surfed the archives and didn't see anything like what I'm dealing with.

Thanks!

  When Comskip Hangs
Posted by: ydekmekji - 2005-07-25, 04:51 AM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - Replies (11)

This might be me being paranoid, but Comskip tends to work fine for me (I have comskip .69 installed) EXCEPT when I'm away. Whenever I am away for a few days and GBPVR records some shows, comskip hangs. I'm convinced that Comskip knows that I"m going to be out of town, and it decides to not work.

There is nothing logical about this, but i'm wondering if anyone has looked at the relationship between comskip and whether we are out of town...

  Problem with audio
Posted by: Don - 2005-07-25, 03:33 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I posted this problem a couple of weeks ago but did not get any responses and was wondering if anyone has heard of this problem. I have not had any problems when recording one show, the problem I have is when I record back to back shows. I tried recording Stargate last weekend when they played it for 12 straight hours. When I record the shows, I get no audio on a couple of the recordings. Everything works great for 1 or 2 shows then no audio. Then it records fine for a few shows then no audio. Anyone have any ideas???

  S-Video setup on PVR150?
Posted by: rjm12 - 2005-07-25, 03:11 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

Hi All,

The coax input on my PVR150 is setup to my analog cable, and that works
just fine. I am trying to setup the S-Video input, it is
connected to a Dish301 SAT. I created another capture source and in the settings selected "S-Video, External Tuner" I also tried "Capture device#1/#2". It says it is resetting GBPVR, but it always shows the cable input.

The S-Video input works with WinTV2000.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Rob

  PVR 150 issues?
Posted by: stonec - 2005-07-25, 02:55 AM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (12)

Not sure if this is a hardware or support question, posted on the support already, anywho I have a PVR150 with an ATI Radeon video card. The card setups fine and works well with the packaged software however when i use GBPVR or even beyond tv (tried it just to test) I get a fuzzy picture (not fuzzy on the packaged software) it looks like the connection is bad but it really isnt, also there is no audio but is with the wintv that comes with it. Is there some trick or is there something i am just missing. This is my first pvr i have made myself i just used an old compaq computer i had it is a 2.5ghz intell processor i assume this is fast enough to do everything i need to. Any help would be appreciated.
