I have a set-top-box running gbpvr, with a PVR-250.

Is there any way to adjust the recording brightness? On some shows, anything white is totally washed out. On all shows, the brightness is higher than watching the same thing on live tv --- even when watching the video on another system over the network.

Any suggestions on adjusting the PVR-250 picture settings?

I tried to record in High and Medium profiles but I don't see any difference in quality - I am recording shows from my sat box (composite and s-video).

The only noticable diff is file size.

Is Medium profile good enough or I should stick with High?

I was just curious to wich is the most common (easiest to use with gbpvr) I am useing windows xp right now, not sure if 2000, xp mce or 2003 server would be better to run or easier.

I a newbie here, please help me to understand a few things. I'm sorry if this questions has been asked before but I couldn't find any solutions to my questions I have here.

1. GB-PVR stated it support the use of Realmagic XCard (SigmaDesigns), if I were to use Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 350 with the XCard together will it work ?

2. Can the PVR350's remote to control the XCard ?

3. I can't find any EPG or XMLTV listing in my country, please help ? (I'm in Malaysia).

4. How do I configure the Weather plugins for my country (eg. Malaysia) ?

5. Is there any printed documentations that I can download regarding the use & configurations of GB-PVR and it's plugins ?

I have set XMLTV Radio Times to put Film: in front of any film - it is definately there in the xml, but it will not show in the guides

If you use "Seen It" in XRecord, is it adding it to recording tracking, or just deleting the instance? It would be great to have it do the former, since the latter can be done just by deleting/canceling it.

hi, is there a way to create several limited channel settings with PIN/no PIN controls

ie.
DAD - Channels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
MOM - Channels 3,4,5,6,7
KIDS - Channels 7,8,9,10

If possible, can it also be done with files, video, pics, mp3s stored in the HD, to prevent unwanted prying by children?

I use the PVR 350 with my Panasonic TV and have set picture size within the TV service menu and the config.xml within GB-PVR but still have a small size issue.

My TV has near zero overscan when viewing terrestrial or Sky digital signals, I then changed the width, height and x/y offset within the config.xml so that the standard Blue skin fills the screen.

My issue is:
When I play back a recorded programe the picture is offset slightly to the right of the screen. This could be caused by picture cramping on brighter scenes (not normally seen when normal levels of overscan are used).

Is there adjustment that allows me to move the image of the video I play relative to the Skin image?

i just want to let everyone know ive been working on a msn plugin, "My Messenger" (original title, no? ). Anyway its still early days, so far all you can do is basic chat with your online buddies (it shows them only as online/offline at the moment) you can recieve/deny files from them, and thats basically it. the chat interface is much better than mediaportal (well IMHO). but anyway the reason for this thread is i need some help finding images, like a want to display an animation when you logon, similar (or the exact same animation) msn messenger shows when you sign on (those two buddies rotating around), also i need some help finding large buddy icons (hopefully png or gif, ie transparent). and im kind of interested if anyone else is interested in this plugin (video/voice chat will be along way away, if ever, at the moment i just doing basic text chat, so not really designed for MVP users, ie you need a keyboard). ill release some screenshots soon, just I NEED SOME GRAPHICS! (oh and if you want to design some, good ones not crappy ones feel free).
