  GBPVR Support For Motorola DCT6412?
Posted by: Raffka - 2005-07-24, 11:34 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (3)

Hi.! First, I would like to say that GBPVR has made my Theatrix 550 a respectable capture card (no stuttering in high quality recordings). Anyway, is there a way I can get the (Comcast Digital Cable) DCT6412 to work with GBPVR channel changer? It doesn't have a serial connector, but I noticed a cable that can be plugged in to something called IR. Is that for infrared remote?

  BleepBloop Source Available

The source code for the BleepBloop plugin is now available. I'm releasing this to the public domain. I won't be doing any further updates to this program, so if somebody else wants to take over maintenance and enhancements of it, please feel free to do so.

Problem with MPEG2 file format in recorded shows
Posted by: fooit - 2005-07-24, 03:11 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (7)

Hello, forum!

I am using GBPVR to record shows from a sat box on Sapphire Theatrix T550 card (driver ver 6.14.10.86 installed). Shows are being recorded with High profile on GBPVR. All I want after a show was recorded is to trim it, remove commercials and re-encode it in MPEG4 format for space saving in the best possible quality.

Problems arise when I try to cut recorded MPEG2 files into smalled pieces and remove commercials using VideoReDo (it's the fastest proggy I've seen so far to cut MPEG2 files without full encoding process) - output files are not what I expected to see - it seems like scenes were mixed.
After some research it turns out the the GOP timestamps are not sequential in the input MPEG2 I recorded.

Owners of ATi T550 based cards - do you have this problem?
If yes - what do you do to fix it?

In general, what proggies do you use to cut commercials? What do you use to re-encode into MPEG4?

Thanks in advance!

  Failed Recordings
Posted by: malcolm - 2005-07-24, 10:09 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (2)

I started using GBPVR back in March and have run it reasonably sucessfully since then. Just recently I had a 'failed' recording when I was away from home. Nothing I could se in the logs helped me in working out the problem, so I guessed the PC just didn't power up as it should.

I recently upgraded to 0.92.11, found some skins that still work (!) and all has been well. The epg even started to upgarde itself properly, well done sub. But the PC has been turning itself on at strange times and not shutting down when it should. Oh well, at least it is quiet!

Then yesterday I had another failed recording! Am I right that gbpvrrecordingservice.exe.log restarts itself each time the epg upgrades in the night? Should it roll back the previous logs as -1, -2, -3 etc?

After I found the failed recording (soon after it should have finished) I re-booted the PC. gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-1.log starts at this time.

The previous log is gbpvrrecordingservice.exe-2.log and contains the following:

What is this last entry? I may have used Live TV at that time, not something I do very often I admit. Did that kill the service? Hence no more entries in the log. The system was still on standby yesterday morning, I remember checking around 8:30 a.m.

First time user and just installed v0.92.11.

Upon launching the configuration I receive a Microsoft .Net box proclaiming...

For the recorded I searched the forum first before this post. I've already tried uninstalling .Net v1.1 and re-installing. I've also installed MDAC v2.6 and since it still wouldn't work I've upgrade to MDAC 2.8. Alas the problem is still here.

I'm running Win2K SP4+ (all critical updates)

Any ideas?

  GBPVR Deleting Recordings
Posted by: Landru - 2005-07-23, 05:26 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (20)

Last week, I recorded Battlestar Galactica (never had a chance to watch it). Last night we recorded another episode. The funny thing is that the last episode got deleted/was overwitten/just does not exist on my hard drive any more. I do have 0.92.11 installed. The relavent portion of the log is attached.

Any thoughts? I think this has been happening for a while, but I never noticed it before......

Thanks!

  recordingservice.exe terminating...
Posted by: jblakey - 2005-07-23, 11:25 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - No Replies

Hi,

i've been playing with GB-PVR for a little while (it's the best PVR out there, IMHO), but i've been running into a little problem.

SOmetimes, when the recordingservice attempts to begin a recoding, it crashes. This can happen either during a scheduled recording or a 'rec' button press. Then, for the duration of that time-slot, the recordingservice crashes (over and over if i let it). Small ~2 second avis of the show get left behind.

My system is as follows:
Windows XP Pro
Shuttle SK43G
Using onboard video
Latest GB-PVR
Hauppauge PVR-150 w/remote and blaster

Any help would be appreciated. I can collect and post the log files if need be.

Thanks,
jason
