Would like a hook to control commercial skipping programmatically.
Posted by: jorm - 2005-07-12, 05:01 PM - Forum: Wishlist - Replies (5)

Sub,

several people have requested an auto skip feature myself included so as soon as you enter a commercial block it skips.

How about just exposing some methods in the IVideoPlayer to get the current frame position and a skip method. When someone starts watching a video if there is a comskip .txt I can spin off a thread that watches the IVideoPlayer and when we hit a commercial section it would skip it and store the range in an array. If the user rewinds I will check the array if it is in there I will do nothing. If not I skip again.

  New Plugin File Explorer

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Plugin/Xplorer

Suggestions thoughts. Welcome. If anyone wants to enhance this the source is also provided. Just let me know so I do not work on it too. Smile

v0.1

lots of bugs. Xplorer is a file explorer for GBPVR. Xplorer is a two panel file browser you can move, copy and delete files and directories. As well as run some files.

You must select a file or directory to do an operation on hit insert or green button to do that. The selected item should become gray.

MVP users the blue button pulls up the menu of commands.

Keyboard users you can also use
F5 - Copy
F6 - Move
Delete - to Delete

Currently playable files (Ctrl-P or Play) mp3 will play the audio mpg will play the video bat will invoke on the server exe will invoke on the server

  'Trimming' in and out
Posted by: Shader - 2005-07-12, 03:37 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (13)

I have recorded several episodes of Teletubbies for my son.
I use 3 minute 'handles' to make sure the start and end are on disk.
Now, when I play the recorded files i have to wait several minutes for the program to begin. And ofcourse trying to be a good dad I play the same show several times having to wait for the show to start every time.

Is there a way to 'trim' a recorded show and remove the leading and ending 'scrap' video ?

  Check E-mail front text position
Posted by: Shader - 2005-07-12, 03:25 PM - Forum: Old Stuff (Legacy) - No Replies

Is there a way to position the '1 e-mail waiting' text on the front-end?
It is just out of screen (If that is the way to say such a thing)

Today, I downloaded the shutdown plugin... configured GBPVR to show the plugin, but it won't do so...

Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

  K-World VS-LTV7131RF
Posted by: lseats - 2005-07-12, 02:31 PM - Forum: Hardware - Replies (4)

The K-World VS-LTV7131RF says it has a hadware MPEG2 encoder. Does anyone know what chip it uses and if it is compatiple with any of the supported cards? It seems to be availabe just about everywhere (in the US) for under $30.

  Recording Volume
Posted by: Hawgboy - 2005-07-12, 01:46 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (1)

I have a Ati Theater 550 Pro.
The volume on recordings and LiveTV is quite low.
I was wondering if there is a way to increase the volume?
Thank you for your help.

  Patterns plug-in - possibly the most useless GB-PVR plug-in?!
Posted by: InTheSand - 2005-07-12, 02:08 AM - Forum: Community Announcements - No Replies

Hi,

I have been experimenting with creating plug-ins for GB-PVR and thought I'd post the results here for all to see! This is basically a useless plug-in (not quite as useless as displaying "Hello World" but along those lines!) that shows patterns/shapes on your TV via GB-PVR.

It really is a "my first plug-in" effort, but someone might like it! I'll be attempting a simple game of some sort for my next one.

Anyway... enjoy!

  Recording Quality Problems
Posted by: ldsguy - 2005-07-12, 12:30 AM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (6)

Sorry if this has already been posted but I couldnt find an answer using the search. Ever since I installed GB-PVR a few days ago I've been having major problems with the recording quality. The default (medium) has too large a file size for me (roughly 3gb per hour) and no matter what I change the bitrates to in the config, it always records at the original settings (5000 kb/s for vid, 224 for audio). Even when I set a show to record at low quality (not using quick record), it somehow still records at the defaut medium quality! I didn't realize this problem until after I had recorded an all-day marathon on friday (set to record at low quality), which ended up using roughly 48gb of my hard drive space. I'm definitely not a computer newbie, but I cant figure out whats going on. Ive re-installed GB-PVR 3 times now (deleting the directory inbetween each one) and the problem still persists. It just doesnt want to record at what I set it to in the config! What am I doing wrong? I'm on an AMD Mobile Sempron 3000+ with 512mb ram, 160gb external hard drive (what im recording to) and a Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB.
-Thanks

Can't get Hauppauge WinTV PVR-250MCE FM Tuner to work!!!!
Posted by: jra75 - 2005-07-11, 11:15 PM - Forum: GB-PVR Support (legacy) - Replies (4)

Just installed GB-PVR and it's really cool and have been able to get everything to work with the exception of the FM reciever. I've seen posts mentioning the LAME Encoder so when I downloaded it and unzipped it into the C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr. When I go in to try and listen to a station that I setup in the FM plugin, I don't get any sound. I verified that the FM tuner works via the Hauppauge software. Any ideas on what my problem may be???
